Chapter 47 Chapter 47

Chapter 47 Chapter 47
Kyla's POV

I woke up and looked at the time, it was late already. The sound of music drove me to the window to see a celebration happening down there.

What were they celebrating? I thought.

The thought of everyone there being werewolves, made me feel like a prey in the middle of predators.

I had to leave. This was the right time to go. But, I still had the maid uniform on and that would draw attention to myself.

Well, I must find disguise. I rushed to Kendrick's wardrobe and pulled out sone female dresses that smelled like Daciana.

I hate her, but I hac to wear her dress. Soon I got out of the mansion, unnoticed. The gates which they always closed was left open today. No one was there. Kendrick and his brothers were no where close.

I snuck out. If I am lucky enough to make it to the road, I could ask for a lift and get to the place Kendrick had blindfolded me. I didnt know the way, but my chances of survival are up by forty percent.

I made my way through the back of the mansion into the bush. As I dug deeper, it became scarier.

“Stop.”

My forehead creased as my heart lunged out of me. I jumped at the sound of a whisper-like growl behind me. Damnit. Have I been caught?

By werewolves?

Am I going to die? Huh, not today– at least not without a fight, even though I'm human and I didn't stand a chance.

Without any more thoughts, I raced up ahead into the forest. A tree branch grabbed the arm of my dress, I yanked it off, so hard it tore my skin.

“Stop running,” I heard again. But how can I stop? To be killed. There’s no way.

I would get to the road soon, I feel it.

“I said stop!!” He growled out once and bashed into me from behind and I staggered so hard forward that I fell on my knees.

I sucked in air through my teeth as pain jolted up my body, from bruising my already sore knees.

A scream muffled in my throat as I struggled up and tried running again, but he grabbed a handful of my hair and I let out a screeching sound.

“Please– Ouch. I promise to leave quietly. Please.” I begged as he turned me around, making me face him. I pinched my eyes short, scared that looking at him might only infuriate him.

“Look at me,” he growled. I shook my head. “Look at me!!” His growl shook the forest and I shot my eyes open, shaken.

His eyes were pale golden and he had three scars right across his face. He grinned, “Good girl.” His voice was familiar now.

I gulped. “Please, let me go.”

He shook his head and pulled me down with my hair, making me kneel. “You’re human? You know you’ll not survive if I leave you Kyla.” he scrutinized me like a commodity.

My eyes widened in terror and I placed both my hands together, tears rushing down my cheeks. “Kendrick?!!” I yelled at the top of my voice as he shifted to his true form

He frowned and raised his head like he was looking for something, then he looked at me and shook his head. “Shush, you’re too loud. Let's go back home before my people realize I have a human in the pack.”

“No! I want to go back to my people” I screamed, but he slapped me across my face, shutting me off.

“I said shut up, you'll get us in trouble. Why did you leave you fucking packhouse?” He scoffed.

My throat tightened and I gulped. “Please, let me go.”

He shoved his thigh into my face, and I turned away as the stale stench hit me, his clothes torn and raggered. Where did he go? Looked like he went hunting or something.

With a deep breath, I sank my teeth into his thigh and I bit him hard. “Ugh. Kyla!” He growled and his grip on my hair loosened. With everything in me, I pushed him back and jumped to my feet, running away.

But as I turned to see him, coming after me, I bumped into a wall of body. “Well, look what we have here.”

“I guess I've found my first kill for the night,” the stranger said, grinning.

I screamed at the top of my voice as I turned to see more than ten werewolves surrounding me.
