Why the hell was I agreeing to this right now? I like Elaine a lot and now I was agreeing to let her put herself in a possibly dangerous situation for herself just so I could run? This feels os wrong. My heart hammers against my chest while Elaine gets out of the car. She looked a lot younger than she actually is. It must be the delayed aging from the werewolf genes or something. I hope I age that well but looking at her now, I was disgusted with myself. 

The drink was sitting in the cupholder in the front seat when Elaine hoped out of the car and slammed the door shut. Her hand touched his shoulder and she moved closer to him, looking up at him like he is the best thing that she has ever seen.While he was completely focused on her, I grabbed the flavored gatorade that he grabbed and poured the drugs into the bottle and shook it before I put it back in the cupholder.  I almost wanted to believe that she wanted him but the truth was in the air already. She moved in closer to him and whispered something in his ear that made him cough, “Yeah, I’ll be right there.” he whispered to her.

He watched her walk off and then got into the car, “ I need to have a discussion with miss Elaine. We should be back in ten minutes. Stay in the car.” He ordered, like he was the person in charge again and then locked the car. I watched him grab the drink and gulp it down, throwing it into the trash can while he fast walked to Elaine.

Please work, I begged to the moon goddess, silently. I didn’t want anything to happen to someone that I actually care about. Probably the only person that I actually care about. I started to rub, massage and pinch my hands while I took slow deep breaths waiting for her to come out. It had already been five minutes since he had walked into the bathroom with her, was she actually? 

The next thing that I knew, Elaine came walking out of the bathroom perfectly unscathed and even a little excited than she was originally. What the hell happened in that bathroom? She unlocked the car and opened my car door. She had me hop in the driver side which was completely intimidating, “Okay, my dear. I am going to teach you how to drive but fast.” She said, completely breathless. I nodded my head and looked at all of the different buttons and switches in the car. 

After twenty minutes of her re-explaining things to me I think I finally started to get it while we were on some giant road. She handed me her phone, “Lily, you need to take a right here.” Elaine stated, pointing her finger to the main city road. 

She gave me a few more directions until we were in front of a building with rails a few feets away, “Okay, what are we doing here?” I asked. She gave me that mom look that told me she wished it didn’t have to be this way, “ My dear, I haven’t known you long but I adore and love you so much.” She croaked, stopping herself from speaking while she rubbed my cheek with her hand. 

She wiped some tears away with her sleeve, “You are so beautiful, clever and strong. I know that one day some one will see just how amazing you are and I hope that I am alive to see it but for now you are dropping me off at this train station and I will say that you drugged both of us.” She explained, like the whole plan was so simple. 

My herat felt so heavy that I was afraid it would drop out of my body and I felt completely disgusted with myself,” Thank you so much Elaine!” I said, jumping over the small arm rest blocking her from me and hugging her tightly. I owed this woman so much more than a hug. I owe her my life. 

“Now, I put in the directions for where you are going. When you get there all you have to do is show them your powers as a witch and tell them your parents names.” She whispered, moving some hair out of my face. 

I nodded, “What are their names?” I asked, ready to break down right there on the spot. 

“Lily and Julian of the rose pack” She smiled, opening the car door and never looking back. Part of me wanted her to look back at me, let me know that this is just as difficult for her as it is for me but she never did. 

I rubbed the scar on my shoulder and looked at the phone sitting in the cupholder, “Okay, I can do this.” I whispered to myself watching as Elaine walked inside of the building. The car had me going on the backroads again, so I pulled over and took off the cardigan and threw on a black sweatshirt and covered my face with the hood. 

Putting the car back into drive I followed the maps onto a freeway where I was stuck driving on the freeway for hundreds of miles. I was about to get onto a road that would start me going up the mountain when I pulled into a gas station and grabbed myself a beverage called ‘coffee and put gas in the car. When I was done filling up the vehicle, I looked at the vehicle. 

“Reynolds deserves to know where his mom is.” I whispered to myself. It ahs already been hours and I don’t know if she made it back home yet but I could tell him we are at a train station stuck or something?

I dialed his name labeled son, “Mom?” Reynolds voice asked surprised a pitch higher than normal. I shook my head and bit my bottom lip, “No, Elaine asked me if you could come pick us up at the train station? The guard ditched us and we are scared.” I whispered, making my voice tremble just enough. The next thing i knew I hung up the phone and got in the car. I got on the road and gassed the vehicle as much as I could without drawing too much attention to myself. I have been going through windy and curvy roads for hours when a rainstorm finally hit and I was losing control of the vehicle. 

Half way up the mountain I was taken onto another backroad. The dark sky and rain made it even creepier, “Come lilith, you can do this.” I said, trying to give myself a prep talk while I drove through. 

Out of nowhere I felt something hit the left passenger door with a huge thud that sent the car spinning until the vehicle went over the top of the safe road and down the hill, “No!” I screamed. The car tumbling and rolling, the glass broke and cut up my skin.
