Chapter 78 Kidnapped

Chapter 78 Kidnapped

Kristen's POV
"Get off the fucking road," Maddy yells in a stern voice trying to prove that she's not afraid.
The creepy guy doesn't even listen to her, he completely ignores her, shifts his gaze to Maddy, and frowns a little, before returning his attention to me.
Oh My God!
What the hell is this for?
Are people allowed to behave this way or is he acting like this because it's just me and my friends here and we're females? Cause I doubt he'll do this in the midst of men.
Oh, how I wish Calhoun and his Beta were here! Things would've been a lot easier. Calhoun wouldn't even lay a finger on him, he would just give Bruce an order with his eyes and Bruce would tackle him and pin him to the ground.
But Calhoun or his Beta isn't here. It's just me, Sapphire, and Maddy. No car seems to be moving on this side of the road, it's almost as if it's all planned.
I don't want to think the creep has been stalking me this entire time and chose to make his presence known tonight when I'm even with my friends.
"Are you dumb or something? Get off the fucking road, we'll like to pass," Sapphire continues, glaring so hard at him as if she will let her wolf surface to bite his head off. But this man already seems powerful, with the way he's built. I don't think our wolves will be a match for him because I recall how mighty his wolf is, almost like that of Calhoun's.
"We don't need to fight over this, mister. Can you please move aside so we can pass," Maddy's voice is even more quieter and respectful than Sapphire's. I know she wants things to be resolved without any conflicts.
He looks at Maddy and curls his head like a snake.
Maddy's eyes almost pull out of their sockets from this act.
I can tell she's now scared as I am, with what he just did.
"Uhm, Sapphire? I think we need to go. Reverse your car and take a different route if possible," She puts her hand on Sapphire's back and tips her head up to meet Sapphire's unwavering angry gaze. Maddy tries to pout but she can't because she's afraid.
"Please." She begs.
"What? No?" Sapphire looks at her incredulously before pulling away from her hold.
"Please, listen to Maddy and just get in the car, let's avoid any temptation tonight." It's me, I just managed to get out of the car and stay beside it as I hug myself.
Maddy cannot do much of the convincing since Sapphire barely listens to anyone when she's upset. It takes a lot of pleading to get her to agree with us.
"You know how I don't let things slide easily," Sapphire disagrees, still glaring at the creep whose eyes are still fixated on me. He's unmoving like a statue but that look on his face is enough to make my stomach churn.
"C'mon, let's go," Maddy already has her hands hooked around Sapphire, trying to pull her away.
She's trembling, even though this man hasn't made any move to attack us or even open his mouth to speak.
But Sapphire swats her hand from Maddy's grip and jerks her finger in the creep's face.
"Fucking listen to me if you don't want your face stuck in the mud, get the fuck away or you'll be sorry!" She yells at the top of her lungs without any ounce of fear, her finger is almost touching his forehead because she's almost as tall as him.
"Did you hear me!? Move!"
He grunts in response, before flicking his tongue over his stale teeth.
It's so disgusting that I find myself gagging.
Maddy and I exchange a look and we're almost wearing the same frightened facial expressions.
"You hear me!?" It's obvious Sapphire will sleep here with this man. When we had enough time to leave.
She lets her anger get the best of her by pushing him and he doesn't even budge. He folds his arms across his chest and puts on that sick smirk.
"Sapphire!" I yell, running to meet up with her because this situation is starting to get out of hand
And Sapphire is way too stubborn for her own good.
When the creep sees me approaching them, he side-steps Sapphire and starts making his way to me.
Oh no.
"Where the heck is he going?" My friends are confused.
"Don't come any closer," Letting out this threat contradicts my body because my legs are already trembling along with me.
"Do you know him from somewhere?" Maddy asks me, her voice audible and shaky.
"No, I don't," I shake my head after taking a gulp for the umpteenth time.
"Then why is he standing in front of you like that?" This time it's Sapphire who questions me, looking completely frightened for my sake.
"I don't know, please come let's get out of here," I beckon them with both my hands.
Because he's right in front of me and I can smell his sweat and dampness from his Black clothes.
Immediately, he puts his hand on my shoulder and tightens his grip.
My heart takes a leap so high that I nearly faint because he's holding me as if I was a prisoner of his who escaped and now he's found me and he'll take me back to the prison.
"What are you doing? Let go of me," the tremble in my voice gives out how shaken I'm feeling.
The creep chuckles to himself and then puts his second hand on my left shoulder.
"What the fuck is going on?" Sapphire and Maddy were in front of me but he didn't make any move to touch them, and now he has both his hands on my shoulders.
"Get away from me!" I yell, pushing him away. Thankfully it works and he staggers backward because I did it with all of my strength.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Sapphire snaps, although I can sense the fear in her voice.
And my heart flips in my chest when he shifts into his wolf, turns to my friends, and growls at them.
They gasp and their steps falter. Because they're seeing how big and dangerous his wolf is.
I take a hard hurtful gulp and the first instinct that comes to my mind is to shift and run, but I can't leave my friends like this.
The situation has moved from bad to worse. We had over ten minutes to reverse and get completely away from him.
When Sapphire should have fucking listened to me, but she refused because she let her toxic side get the best of her at times. Now we're in this mess together, and it's obvious we have an impending danger on its way.
Sapphire yelled all sorts of threats until he showed us his dangerous side.
I close my eyes in dismay for a few seconds before quickly flicking them open.
The strange man growls again and Maddy is the one to fall this time.
"What do you want from us?" I inquire.
He shifts back before directing his gaze to my side, and then he lets back a boisterous malicious laughter. Goosebumps rise in my every single pore because his laughter is fear instilling. I've never heard anyone laugh like this.
"I don't want anything to do with your friends," he speaks up for the first time. His voice is deep, fearful, and rough.
And then it dawns on me that he's here for me. Just the mere thought of this makes my knees wobble from where I am standing. "What do you want from me?" I ask at last.
And he bursts into an inauspicious smirk that makes him seem more dubious and threatening.
"You're such a smart girl, Kristen," he says as if I am a little girl.
And he knows my name? The fright in me tightens my throat.
"How did you know my name?" I ask.
"I like how quick it was for you to figure it's you whom I want?"
"Why would you ever want me?"
"Because you caught my eye."
"Stay away from our friend," Sapphire is already helping Maddy up from the ground.
"Tell your friends to remain where they are or they'll die!" His warning stirs up a shudder in me.
"You creep!" Sapphire throws a stone at him but he's fast to catch it midair.
"Please let us go, we didn't do anything," I am fighting so hard to not break into sobs but it's almost impossible, with the way he's clenching the stone so hard until it cracks.
Sapphire flinches and Maddy is shivering.
He rushes toward Sapphire, wraps his hand around her neck, and lifts her from the floor.
I can see Sapphire struggling as her eyes keep traveling into the back of her head.
Oh no, this is way too much to handle. Seeing her like this is as if I'm the one getting strangled.
"It's amusing to see how you don't run that potty mouth of yours anymore," he says to Sapphire when she puts her hands on
his and tries to free his grip from her neck.
"Let her go, please!" I let out this yell.
Maddy is already kneeling on the ground, weeping and hiccuping at the same time.
Worse, he picks her up with his left hand and lifts her along with Sapphire. His hold is tight around their throat.
And as they cough and kick, I am staggering backward as a strong wave of cold swipes through me.
This strange man is not an Alpha but he possesses an Alpha's kind of strength.
No ordinary werewolf can do this.
And it makes me even more afraid.
"Let them go, please don't hurt them," I plead, hating the fact that they're suffering like this.
"Why should I ever do that?" He surprises me by asking this question.
"Because they're my friends and they're innocent," I explain, ensuring my voice doesn't sound shaky.
The way he's holding them is just like they weigh nothing because he doesn't even look tired. It seems as though he can go on like this for as long as possible.
"Oh, the little thing cares deeply for her friends. So so adorable," he pouts before smiling like a maniac.
"I'll only let them go on one condition."
"What can that be?" I ask flippantly because Maddy's eyes are almost moving out of their sockets.
"I'll not kill them if you go with me." He drops this bombshell.
And knots form in my stomach upon hearing this ultimatum from him.
"You...you want me to go with you?"
"Yes, it's always been you. Kristen," He withdraws his hands and pulls them to his side, something which makes my friends drop to the floor in thuds and groans. Then they start coughing as if they've been deprived of Oxygen for way too long.
"Come with me now that I'm being gentle, or you'll have their heads rolling at your feet." He growls.
"No, please," my knees give out underneath and I drop to the floor. Hearing him say that just weakened my whole body because thinking about that makes me feel like dying myself.
"Will you go with me?" He makes this request in a quiet manner as if he's an innocent person. As if he didn't just strangle my
friends and promised to kill them.
"Y-y-yes," I stutter, rubbing my perspiring palms together.
"Good girl, now get in the car. I'll drive," His face breaks into a huge grin.
"No, don't do this Kristen. Don't go with him," Maddy wails aloud. Meanwhile Sapphire is too frightened to utter a word. But her eyes are red with tears.
It's hard to pay deaf ears to Maddy's pleas, but I still do it anyway. So they'll be alive.
I summon all the courage I have in me and hop into the car myself.
The creep snatches the car keys from Sapphire before joining me in the car.
The urge to burst into a full volume of wails is overwhelming, upon seeing my friends sitting on the road like that, looking
completely helpless and in tears.
And knowing I am getting kidnapped just makes my heart climb up to my throat.
"You were such a good girl back there," the creep tells me when he starts the car.
I don't respond, I just stare out of the window, weeping silently.
"Sacrificing yourself for your friends like that just makes me like you more," he toys with my hair. While I don't even make any
move to swat his hand away because I'm super afraid of him.
As he drives, it feels like air is getting sucked out of me. The look on Maddy and Sapphire's faces is unbearable. I hold my breath
until he drives past them.
"You're now like their hero, Kristen."
I remove my head from the car window to meet his gaze, so he can see the tears dripping down my cheeks.
"No, no, no...don't cry, pumpkin. Jack will take care of you, you poor little thing," He wipes the tears off my cheeks with the
back of his palm.
His name is Jack?
"Let's put you to sleep, shall we?" He still has that creepy smile on his face.
"You'll wake up and find yourself at home. No need to stay up and cry until you get a headache." With this saying, he connects
his fist to my face.
And darkness suddenly envelopes me.
