Chapter 5

I'm only wearing my lacy blue dress. I left my coat and mask at the Elders place so that no one will know that I am, so I really look like a normal girl in a werewolf community.

I only teleported to the palace and was inside of the dining room.

I must say the palace is suited for elegance and wealth. Chandeliers are sparkling above me, really suits my golden eyes.

I walked around and found where the girls were. They are all sitting so I sit beside the brunette girl.

She gave me a glance and smiled at me.

“Aren't you excited?” She asked me. Why would I be?” Her question confused me . Is this girl insane for asking me if I’m excited to be caught by the King and be persecuted? Really? If it wasn't rude to not respond then I wouldn't but I'm not that kind of person.

“Why would I be? If you were the lady he was looking for, youll be persecuted or maybe tortured?” I said as I'm actually kinda pissed off of her.

She gasps in shock and looks at me as if I'm insane but actually, I was the one who actually thinks that she is. She moved back a little.

“Are you insane?! We're not here to be persecuted. We are here because-” Her statement was cut off when someone entered the door.

It was the Beta Jaw who I saw at the mating ground and the King also walk in and stand beside the Beta.

The way he walks in, it feels like a slow motion of my upcoming death. My heart is exhilarating as he looks at all of us. But most of it, these ladies with me are gawking at him. I know he is handsome and all but still he is gonna kill me. I'm gonna die in his hands.

We all stood up and gave respect to the King.

As the King's sight moved at me, he stopped and stared at me. This made my heart beat fast. The Beta looks at me and nods his head as he responds on something, maybe they mind link but I can't hear them because I dont have my wolf.

Elders have a mind link but it is just for Elders.

I know we do have some powers and all but we still lacked something and that is what werewolf has.

As me and my Beta walked to the room where the girls had been put to stay, I could already smell the sweet scent of my mate. Smell of blooming roses, refreshed by sparkling and luminous notes of lemon and white flowers.

My wolf can't help but jump on excitement and keep saying mate.

“Calm down Fredrin” I said to my wolf

“ Can’t help it. It’s been so long and we thought you're mateless or she's dead. “ Fredrin said in my mind.

Well, that’s true. But still I didn't stop looking for her and now she's near to be within my arms, to hold her and cherish her.

As we were in front of the room, my Beta went in first and I followed him next.

As I went in, my eyes were already locked on someone who is my mate. She’s gorgeous with her red hair, v chin, sharp nose and full lips that I just want to kiss already.

I mind link everyone to leave except for the woman I’m staring at and everyone looks at who she I was talking about.

Everyone stared at me. I know they know what the King said in the mind link. While me, I’m clueless and this made me more terrified of what would happen.

Some of the girls gave me a judging look as if they were looking down at me. I don't understand them at all. Why would they look at me like that as if I'm stealing something at them? If they want to be chosen then I gladly give them the opportunity to be persecuted.

These hilarious thoughts lessen my worries.

As if on cue the girls just started to walk out of the door as well as the Beta. I was about to follow them but someone held my wrist to stop me and when I turned to look who it was. I was stunned, it was the King and he was staring intently at me.

“You stay here.” He said in his authoritative tone and pulled me to sit down.

He sat in the chair in front of me. He closed his eyes and folded his palm together as he was thinking about something while me just staring at him, waiting for what would happen.

“Do you even know why you’re here?” He asks in his baritone voice and looks me straight in the eye.

I gulped before I said “I'm here because I watched the mating game without acknowledging anyone's presence, especially you. So you order everyone to find me because you're going to punish me for what I've done.” I was out of breath as I finished what I said.

His forehead was wrinkled as he absorbed my statement then he looked at me as if my statement confused him.

“Where did you get that kind of idea?” he asked and stared at me intently while waiting for my response.

“Well, it was what I assumed because what would be the other reason why’d you look for me?” I said as if I’m defending myself and this confused me more. Why would he look for me if it’s not about it?

“Don't you feel the pull? Or smell something? Like my scent?” he asked as he put his hand on my shoulder and caressed it.

It was awkward to me because he was touching me and those questions are like about having a mate? A MATE! My eyes widened as I realised what he said.

Then I stared at him dumbfounded and I suddenly stood up fast and moved away from him and I put my hands up as I stopped him to get near me because he immediately stood up as I got away from him.

“WAIT! So youre saying that I'm your mate?!” I said in a hesitant voice and looked at him as confusement and not believing what was written in his face.

“Yes. Can’t you feel the pull?” He asked again and felt like he was slowly getting annoyed or irritated.

I shake my head as a no. This made him mad. His iris became dark.

He fastly went at me and grabbed both of my shoulders.

“I’m not mistaken about what I had confirmed. YOU ARE MINE! UNDERSTAND?!” He said out of anger and his voice was much deeper.

I know that it was his wolf being possessive.

I push him away as his grip hurts me. I rub my aching shoulder to ease the pain.

His eyes changed back to blue as he saw me getting hurt and his reaction softened.

I'm also getting pissed because of his actions so I look at him with irritation clear in my face.

“I don't feel anything about you or the pull you were saying because I don't have a wolf.” i said madly because i'm not really convinced that he is my mate because first of all is what i just said. Secondly , Elders can't have mate anymore as their wolf had been cutted. So how is it possible?

I held my head as the more I thought about it, it became painful.

As he saw me acting that wary, he went near me and held me in his arms as if comforting me. He even caresses my hair and kiss my forehead.

This happened because obviously he’s way taller than me. As I’m relax in his hold. I slowly move back a little away from him.

“Even you can't feel the pull, our mating ceremony will continue and this will be publicised.” he said in a monotone voice.

Is this guy bipolar? Just earlier, he is so gentle. Now, he is back being drastic.

I was left speechless. I guess, I definitely can't make him change his mind.
