Chapter 111 FAMILIAR FACE.

Chapter 111 FAMILIAR FACE.

Asher

Jordan turned to Dima and he nodded.

"Is there a specific port we can check?" He asked and Jordan nodded.

"The most popular one here, and where the goods were supposed to get delivered to." Jordan said, dropping a phone on the table.

"It's by the east of his building, I can ask one of my men to take you there but he's not going to question them along with you." Jordan said, and Dima rose to his feet.

"Okay, thank you." Dima said and we headed out.

"I'll come to you early tomorrow morning so we can leave together. Don't be quick to ask questions, we still don't know whether the goods got lost or it was stolen or..." He trailed off, lowering his gaze and I nodded.

"Okay, no problem." I said, and entered the room where they hauled my luggage too.

The room was well decorated, it seemed like they had really prepared for our visit. I went into the bathroom to take a shower, thinking of all the incidents that happened today. Could it really be more sophisticated than I thought?

I walked out, a towel tied to my waist and another used to dry my hair but when I entered the room, someone sat on the bed.

My eyes widened as I instinctively went back. "Who are you?"

I screamed. The person finally turned and it actually turned out to be Nathaniel.

"What are you doing here?" We both chorused and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"This is my room, leave." I said quickly and the look of shock on his face before disappeared, a sudden smile rising on his face.

"This is also my room. How else did you think I entered here?" He asked, getting up to his feet.

I retracted further into the bathroom. "I don't care about how you got here. I want you out now." I said but he didn't make a move to leave, rather he took a step closer.

"Why should I leave because of you? It's also my room." He said, tilting his head slightly.

I sighed. The hard way was obviously not going to work. "Can you please go out for now? I'll talk to you later."

He finally paused, his eyes drifted around my body and he cleared his throat before he spoke. "Who said I want to talk to you?" He asked but he inched back. "I'll give you the privacy you want." He said, walking out of the door.

I sighed, running towards the door, and closing it behind him. I wanted to turn but I heard his voice and I paused.

"It does not matter whether you lock the door or not. I can still come in whenever I want to." Nathaniel declared.

"You..." I wanted to yell back at him but his words left me utterly speechless.

I ignored his words and changed into a new set of clothes before opening the door.

"Why are you here?" I asked, and he tried to walk in but I stood by the door.

He hung his head low before looking up to speak to me. "It's confidential." He said, and I couldn't help but scoff.

This same answer again. Did he really think I was asking because I cared about him?

"Fine, you can choose to not tell me but I'm not letting you in here." I said and he stepped back, eyes drifting between me and the door.

"You know I can enter without your permission right?" He said and I nearly rolled my eyes.

I parted my lips to speak but Dima rushed out at that moment. "Sorry." He apologized as he came closer. "Jordan said he had some other guests, I didn't expect him to pair you both up." He said, eyes drifting towards Nathaniel.

He stepped closer to Nathaniel. "Can you switch with me? You'll be staying with one of your men if I do and I can stay with him."

Nathaniel looked back at me and he sighed. "I don't need to. I'll stay somewhere else." He said, walking away.

I instinctively called out to him. "Nathaniel…” but when he turned, I couldn't help but find myself dumb for calling him. I had just tried to send him away a few minutes ago and now I was calling him back?

"What's wrong?" He asked, and I swallowed hard, my tone shaky.

"You forgot to take your things."

Nathaniel responded. "I didn't leave anything here." He walked away and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.

"Will you be able to stay with anyone else if you are eventually asked to change?" Dima asked, coming closer.

I waved my hand in the air. "I can stay with anyone, as long as it's not him." I said and he nodded.

Early the next morning, Dima knocked on my door and I stepped out ready to leave.

One of the faces from yesterday stood by his side. "He's the one who will guide us there but he will leave as soon as we get there." Dima reminded me and I nodded slowly.

The place wasn't as far away from his residence as I thought it would have been. It suddenly made sense why he didn't want any one of his men investigating the disappearance of the goods. It could blow his cover.

The man paused, a few metres away from the bustling port. "I can only take you this far. I'll leave the rest to you."

He turned to face us. Dima nodded, a smile on his face. "Thank you for your time."

The man lowered his head before walking away. Dima turned towards me. "Try to remain as subtle as possible."

I nodded at his words and only then did we walk in. The people at the port looked like ordinary civilians, not the kind of people who ever plan or want to take those sets of goods. Dima stood before a woman who held a sack in her hands, presumably a local and he parted his lips to speak but his words blurred out in my head as I saw a familiar figure from afar.
