Chapter 112 I WILL RELUCTANTLY GO WITH YOU.

Asher

I stepped forward instinctively, wanting to meet up with the person but Dima held my hand. I looked down at his hand, he was still talking to the lady before him but he didn't soften his grip on my hand.

"I just saw someone." I whispered into his ear and his grip softened but by the time I looked back up, the person was gone.

I sighed, focusing my gaze back on the woman before us.

"I think you are hoping to transport those goods. Don't you think it's dangerous because of what happened a few days ago?" Dima asked and the woman sighed.

"If I don't send these out then I won't be able to eat. The tide from days ago was worse than any we've ever seen, maybe it's because of the goods that were transported." I raised a brow, Jordan was right, it seemed some one had really spread rumours that illegal goods were being transported.

"But there were some of my goods on there, is there no way of finding it?" Dima asked, the woman retracted backwards, studying him.

"Judging from how you look, you should be a wealthy merchant, you forget about the goods you had on that ship. Even if it is recovered, you will probably not get the goods." She advised me.

Dima's brows furrowed. "Why?"

"The goods will probably be confiscated. Even some of my goods were on that cargo but I have to let it go." She said, shaking her head. "I advise you to forget about it."

The woman walked away and Dima paused, looking towards me.

"Seems like my intuition was right, someone is really behind this." Dima said and I nodded, I raised a hand, a thought forming in my head.

"How about trying to find those on the cargo. I remember someone saying some of the people survived." I said, and Dima nodded quickly.

"I'll try to find them." He said, turning to leave but he paused to look back at me. "You shouldn't follow this. I don't want them seeing you."

I nodded at his words, and he hurried away. I returned to the residence and sat in my room, waiting for some news when Nathaniel walked in.

I sat up, startled by his presence. "I thought you said you would stay in a hotel?" I asked, scanning his body, a sweat trickled down his forehead, he seemed to have been running.

He pulled his hand away from the door, and walked in fully. "I can still decide to return if I want to."

I rolled my eyes at his words, there was no use arguing with him.

"You came to investigate the goods that had disappeared right?" He asked, and my face lit up as I looked back at him but I quickly hid it.

"Where did you get that information from?" I asked, trying to feign ignorance but he saw right through it.

"The only reason Jordan made us stay together was because we are here for the same reason." He said, taking a seat opposite me.

I sighed, turning my head away from him but then I fully processed his words. "Your goods were also lost?"

He tilted his head slightly but he didn't respond to my question. "I found a place where the goods might be sold." He said and I inched closer.

"It's an auction and it only happens once in a few days, and this time, they have a big promotion for it. They said to have found a set of goods that would make anyone rich but they wouldn't let it out of the box, so it's a blind gamble."

I raised a brow, sitting back in my chair. "For you to be able to get the information it means it must have been widely spread, weren't they afraid the owner would come to find them?" I asked.

"It's probably just an intermediary. They probably don't know much about it, but there is a condition to get the goods. You have to get three things from the pre-auction they hold." He said and I nodded, snapping my head the moment I had fully processed his words.

"When is the pre-auction?" I asked, and he pulled out tickets from his pockets.

"Today is the last day." He said, and I picked up the tickets from the table, nodding but then it hit me.

"Win three things, and it's an auction. How am I supposed to raise the funds so quickly?" I asked but he only relaxed in his seat.

"I'll take care of it." He said and I nodded but then I raised a brow.

He was taking care of everything and he wanted me to go with him. What were his true intentions?

"Is there something you are not telling me?" I asked, tilting my head slightly and he blinked but a confident smile soon spread across his face.

"Nothing. I just wanted to help you." He said, and I looked again at the tickets in my hands. He wasn't that kind.

"Really? Why would you want to take me there when I could sabotage your plans?" I asked, wanting to threaten him but his resolve didn't shake.

"You wouldn't. This is probably the first time you are handling something for your gang. You wouldn't want anything to go wrong." Nathaniel said, and I wanted to counter him but I couldn't. He was right.

I scoffed, dropping the tickets on the table. "I don't believe you can be that kind."

"I just need someone else with me, I can give it to someone else if you don't want it." He said, taking the tickets up from the table.

Nathaniel stood up to his feet, and headed towards the door. My eyes widened, I couldn't lose this opportunity, no matter what his intentions were.

I sprang up to my feet. "Wait." I said, walking closer to him, I snatched a ticket from his hand before I spoke. "I'll reluctantly go with you."

Nathaniel parted his lips to speak but I beat him to it.

"When are we going?”
