Chapter 79

Alex’s POV

I spoke with Ben, Brian, and Seth and Toby spoke with Cameron, Harvey and Gerry. Cam, Harvey and Gerry were happy to have Denise, Cade and Dante join Gold Moon with their packs. And Ben, Brian and Seth; are giving us Kingsley; Cooper and Levi. Of course; Tim has asked Andre to join and he was thrilled at the opportunity.

“I thought, I needed to rip Jems apart, until Tim explained what was actually going on” Andre tells us; after his ceremony. We decided to hold ceremonies at different times throughout the day. We did them in different living areas; to draw suspicion away from all the other parties involved. Leaders have been coming and going in each other’s living areas for months now. Doing this; was no different to the norm.

Jeremy got through his ‘trial fight’ with no serious consequences. He said Carter was intrigued by his Lycan and has asked him to help his clan learn what to do in regards to the bears Lycan form. Spartacus had told him it was not called Lycan; it was called a Agrius or Oreius depending on which of the twin forms the bears associates themselves with.

He also said he is approaching their training in accordance to Master Joe’s training techniques; when teaching them. Joe was proud of the compliment. Master Joe and Elder Matthews have been helping Olivia with her Lycan form as well. Something Joe didn’t know; Olivia has the ability to use magic when in Lycan form, due her being half witch. It’s something we have kept a secret.

“What next?” Andre says to us. “We wait and see what happens. We can’t attack until we know who is with us and who is against us” Toby tells him.

*“Jems just messaged: Some of the warriors are talking. They are gossipers. Greg is sending messages to the leader’s; Bronson has fighting with us. They are the ones who are passing on information. I haven’t asked which pack it is. Pedro and myself are just keeping our ears and eyes open. Tell Tim and Toby, Pedro got Yvette her steak; it was cooked medium-well, how I like mine. He says no wonder he is gay; he can’t win with the ladies”* Glenn mind links laughing.

Toby and myself start chuckling; “What did he say?” Tim asks us. Glenn said it’s Greg, messaging the leader’s Bronson has fighting alongside us. They aren’t sure, which pack is passing on the information. They are listening and watching. It’s nobody here by the looks of it” I tell them. “And mum got her steak, but Jems likes his medium-well and she didn’t get hers medium-rare; Pedro said no wonder he’s gay, because he can’t win with the ladies” Toby laughed harder.

“I still don’t trust the others just yet; we should only keep this information between us” Tim says through a few snickers. “I agree” Elder Matthews tells us.

*“Glenn, can you pass that message onto everyone to inform the leaders. Except Andre; Tim is here with us and we just told him”* I link him. *“Shall do.”*

Toby looks at me, then Tim and Elder Matthews; *“Alister; has Remi asked Leader Hendrix about the bad business deal he had with Carter?”* Toby mind links us both *“Yeah; it was something to do with land that was purchased. He wouldn’t elaborate.”*

He looks back at me; “I want to chat with Leader Hendrix; find out the full truth of the bad business deal him and Carter had; Tim, Granddad, do you want to join us?” Toby asks them.

The four of us leave through Toby’s room and head to the room Leader Hendrix and his mate Alyssa are staying. I knock on the door. There was no answer; “Can I help you?” We hear a voice behind us. “Leader Hendrix; we would like to talk with you about something; may we?” Toby asks him.

He looks around him; “I suppose so” he answers. We all walk into the room and shut the door behind us. “Is Alyssa around? I don’t want to keep her from her room” Elder Matthews asks him. “What is this all about?” he growls at us. “I want to put a silence and no entry spell on the room. I would like Alyssa here before we proceed” he answers.

Hendrix narrows his eyes toward Elder Matthews as Alyssa comes into the room. “Sorry to disturb you, Alyssa; we need to talk to you and Hendrix” Tim says to her; as Elder Matthews chants his spells.

“Hendrix; we would like to ask you about your bad business deal with Carter and the Maple Clan” I say to him. He looks at Alyssa and takes a breath “We don’t trust anyone here. When it comes to Carter; he has spies everywhere. There is some information; I like to keep to myself until the time arises to tell it” he says.

I look at Toby and Tim; we were surprised he was having the same trust issues as the rest of the leaders. Elder Matthews starts “Hendrix, Alyssa, my daughter Gilda is one of the ladies they are holding and Toby’s mother-in-law. Yvette is Toby and Tim’s mother, Leanne is Alex’s mother, Cynthia is Alex’s mother-in-law and Sophia is their head physician. We all have a need to keep information to ourselves because we know there is information being passed onto Carter. We need your help.”

He looks at Alyssa; she gives him a smile and he begins “Before we moved and became the Shining Clan; we were living in a territory known for its strategic positioning. The drug problems were ongoing; but it was manageable in our territory” he pauses with a sigh.

“We were approached by Carter, 18 months ago; he wanted to purchase our land. He said the territory was the best he has come across to keep his Clan safe tactically” Alyssa includes. “We were looking to move away from the area due to the ongoing drug problems; we got the deed contracts written up. Once they were signed; he attacked and ran us out of the area. We never saw the money that was promised for the land” Hendrix finishes.

The four of us looked like stunned mullets; we didn’t know what to say. “18 months ago? You were without a territory for a whole year?” Tim questions. “Yes; Ramirez put the Forrest Clan territory up for sale; we asked him if we could pay off the land as we had lost a lot of money in a bad business deal. He agreed” Alyssa tells us.

“This land Carter stole; is it the land they are on now?” I ask. Hendrix and Alyssa look at one another again “Yes” he answers. I look into their eyes; there is hurt and anger for Carter and the Maple Clan. *“They were definitely keeping a huge secret from us all”* I mind link Toby. *“We need to trust them with a few secrets too”* he links back; he feels the same as I do, regarding Hendrix. I look at Elder Matthews and Tim; they both nod their heads. “Hendrix, Alyssa; thank you for trusting us. Now it’s our turn to trust you as well” I tell them.

They look between the four of us “What I told you about Jeremy isn’t entirely true; it’s only factually true. He belongs to two packs; mine and my brothers. He asked if he can go and we allowed it to keep him and Pedro safe and he is telling us what is going on in the Maple Clan” Tim says. “We already knew that. I didn’t know he was sending back information to you though” he says. “Goddess; is there anyone who didn’t pick up on the fact we sent a spy into Carter’s territory” Toby fumes. “Carter” Tim laughs.

Hendrix laughs; “we all picked up on it because that is what we all would have done. Carter probably knows too; he probably thinks as I did, it is to make sure the ladies are ok.”

“I’m not sure what form it is for cats; we call it Lycan form. Can you fight in that form?” I ask them. They were both taken back a bit by the question “We don’t really have a name for it; but yes, we can fight in this form if we need to” Hendrix tells us. “Good; Carter is getting Jeremy to show them and teach them about it. He had to fight to prove himself; he chose to show his Lycan form and Carter was intrigued. Someone passed the information on; he was one of our best fighters” I tell him.

“This is why, we chose not to tell anyone” Alyssa snarls. “I understand; we told everyone so Carter would keep him around for his ability as a fighter” Elder Matthews smiles at her.

“How is it you can all pass information onto one another without the rest of us knowing?” Hendrix asks. I look at Tim, Toby and Elder Matthews. He continues; “I know about you too being joint Alphas; and the bond between identical twins is strong; you can sense each other’s thoughts and feelings but I overheard Renee talking to Samantha the other day; saying she just got a message from Alex and Sam said she just got the same message, but neither of their phones went off.”

Elder Matthews laughs; “you know of the tournament they held to get their enforcers. Not one of them was from their pack. Alex and Toby; got permission to allow their enforcers be a part of two packs so they can communicate to one another if they need to. Rebecca is from the Orange Pride and Christian is from the Red Moon Pack. They can communicate through them.” “And Jeremy is from my pack; although he isn’t here anymore” Tim includes.

“We have taken up a lot of your time. Thank you again for trusting us” I say to the pair. Hendrix and Alyssa look at one another again. I know this is a sign of them communicating; thanks to Jessica and Olivia and the signs Toby showed me.

“There’s one more thing before you go” Hendrix says. “The tunnel they know of, isn’t the only way into the compound. It’s one of six we had put in around the area. I’m not sure how many they know of. We can see which ones they know about and which ones they don’t” he tells us.

“We will have to keep that bit of information to ourselves for the moment. We will need to work out a ploy to lure out, who of the six packs Bronson has asked to help; is leaking information to Carter” I tell them. Their eyes go wide; “You know it’s one of those prides?” We all smile at him; “Yes; we just don’t know which one” Tim tells him.

“Bronson may be able to message each of them a different strategic plan; whoever blabbers to Jeremy and Pedro is your culprit” Toby says. “Sounds like a plan to me” Elder Matthews says.
