Chapter 69 - Stranger, someone Asher knows

“I am going to say it one and the last time, you’re not going anywhere.” He snarled. August looked angry and I know his anger was reasonable.

First our father among with other alphas are missing. His mate, the most powerful ally, the witch was also missing. Al though he could sense her being alive but it only makes things worse as it continuously nigs at his heart that he is in danger somewhere.

“Look, there is no other way around.” I said. I finally looked straight at his face. he looked aged. He look like he hasn’t got any sleep-in last week.

“Look at me.” I said softly and make his face turned towards me with my hand. I feel sadness and guilt as soon as our eyes connected. It was all my fault after all. They were after me and my mate.

It was all because of me and my mate. they were not to blame in for anything.

“I don’t wanna lose you too Emmy.” He said and I know he was on the verge of breaking down. I was sure because my tears were any second away from falling down form my eyes. I hugged him hard.

“Nobody going to harm our family and live peacefully.” I said in his ear. It was more of a promise to ourselves. He hummed and didn’t say anything.

I evicted myself from his embrace and make him look at me again. This time I was dead serious. I grabbed his both cheeks and looked directly in his eyes, his eyes the same color of mine.

“You are the alpha of the most powerful pack of the continent. You have the skills and the guts to lead the army. Now quit trying and get the hold of yourself.” I slapped him lightly and he smiled and I smiled too.

“That’s my brother.” I said and he nodded his head. “You are more worthy than me.” he said slowly and I shake my head. “But father and the whole pack chose you.”

“Alpha.” We heard the knock on the door and I know it was Asher waiting for me to come with him. We have to left before the evening and catch a flight.

“Give me five more minutes Asher.” I said. “Pull your hand out.” August said and I complied without asking. He tied a band on my wrist and slapped the back side of my palm sharply.

I winced immediately and glared at him.

“Don’t you ever remove this band from your hand. It was made by Diana, it will tell me your location, it is enchanted with the special spell. Once you’re in any kind of danger, the band of your hand will burn and it will tell me exactly where you are.” he explained me as a matter of factly.

I was amazed by the details and what the magic could even do.

“If only that idiot could use it for herself.” August words slipped through his mouth and he bits his lip as the feeling dread crosses his heart once again.

“We both got light headed mates, didn’t we?” I said and he smiled sadly.

“Esma.” I heard Asher calling mem out.

“You better get what you are going for.” He threatened me and I raised my eyebrow. “And stay safe.” He completed.

“You too.” With that I left the house and greeted Asher standing in front of me.

“About time.” he said looking at his phone.

The car in black drove through the woods towards us and before anyone of us could have said anything, a man in black walked out of the car. The car was expensive I could tell. It was a SUV, a Mercedes.

“Bonsoir Asher.” The man greeted Asher in his deep voice. He had blonde hair, not the typical one. the sun-bleached blonde hair, a tan to die for and a glowing hazel eyes. he immediately gazes up at me, his mouth wides open and he was coming towards me.

“And this is the beautiful lady you were talking about.” I flushed crimson. I am not good with taking compliments.

“I am Jason Rodrigo, brother of him.” he said and pointed towards Asher with his left thumb out.”

I glanced back at Asher. He was annoyed beyond limits and he was not trying to hide it. now that Jason mentioned, he kinda looks similar to Asher. They have different hair but have almost similar physique and face structure.

Asher had more defined structure and broad shoulders. He had midnight black hair and pitched black eyes. But Jason had blonde hair and brown eyes. Still Asher wins in the looks department.

“May I have the honour to know your name?” he sings and smiled and my ears turned pink from embarrassment. He was a flirt and he know that. he was complete different from Asher.

“Esma, Esma Rockwood.” I said and he kissed my hand.

“Enough of your child plays. We have a serious situation. don’t forget why I called you on the first place.” Asher said from behind and I could easily sense he was not in any mood to entertain his brother.

“Come on, my little brother. Try to let loose once for a while. It keeps you on check.” Jason said and my eyes widened. Asher was younger than him. Asher looked more pissed. Oh no.

“Alpha, sit in the car. I have something to discuss with my brother.” Asher said with as much respect as he could.

I turned back to look at August, he had a blank expression. he was looking at Asher, his eyes never leaving both of the brothers.

I walked towards him and hugged him. he finally looked at me and smiled lightly before patting my head like he used to before when we were younger.

“Come back safely and don’t do anything reckless. That band of yours, I want it intact.” He half threatened half scolded me. I hummed and nodded my head and he opened the gate for me.

I sit at the back of the car and he closed the door behind me. Jason was soon back and sat on the driver seat, he was awkwardly quiet now. I don’t know what Asher said to him but he didn’t said anything.

He glanced back though the rear-view mirror and wink at me before smiling his devilish smile, Asher opened the door of the passenger seat and sit beside him.

“Off we go.” Jason said and put his foot on the gas pedal and before we knew it, we were out of this cursed land.
