Chapter 68 - No clue
I closed my eyes. this is all fucking tiring. I just don’t know what she wants. She captured me to lure Reed. Then she let herself captured by us so that she could kidnap our father. She already got so many chances to kill me but she didn’t.
She was just playing with us like we were some stupid toys for her. A way to fill her with amusement in this boring world.
Ravenna is the most twisted personality I have ever encountered in my life. I have met many people, the honest ones, the liar ones, the one who schemes behind your back, the ones you can never trust.
But she was different. Everyone above, they have some kind of motive, a motivation for what they do, but she was different. As if everything she does doesn’t make sense.
It was illogical and irrational and only brings chaos. She had the blade. But it was mystery. She got the blad of Zydus. She killed two of our alphas which she doesn’t even know the name of, I am sure of it.
Alpha Diaz and Derek. they were both dead. because of me, Reed was captured because of me. all the other alphas’ lives were now in danger, because of me. All of their blood is on me.
And now, now there is a corpse of a human. A human who didn’t do anything. His only crime was to look like him. I can’t look away from him. His lifeless body, lying there on the ground, out cold.
“I want some time alone.” I declared. August looked like he was about to say something but nevertheless he kept quiet. August walked slowly to the basement. Probably to enquire. Asher didn’t leave.
“Asher, I said I need to be alone; I don’t like to repeat myself.” I said and he didn’t flinch. Reed and his men.
He walked towards the dead human and started frisking him, to look for something in his pockets. I didn’t stop him. After all it was the most logical thing to do. I was impressed how he was able to do his duties even when he was alone.
His alpha was abducted, his men were killed, he was alone in nowhere in the enemies land. On the top of that he was barked orders by a female. Still, he would keep his head low and do what was right. He have a strong resolve.
“Alpha.” He whispered and I know he found something. I didn’t moved but stood there, waiting for him to show me what he found. He finally stood on his knees and walked towards me with a piece of paper in his hands.
He handed me that paper. It was a small piece, still fresh, I know it was ripped from a notebook not long ago.
It was not an empty piece of paper. I know. There was something written in another language I don’t know of.
“It’s written in God language. You need either a witch or a god to translate it for you.” he said and I slapped my forehead with my palm.
“Fucking hell, now where I am supposed to find a witch or a god?” I shouted at him, he was taken aback with my sudden outburst and took a few steps backwards before morphing his emotions back to normal.
Diana was missing, I don’t know who left this note, probably Ravenna did or maybe someone else. I don’t know if she was still playing with me. I was done with it. I was done being someone’s puppet.
“I know someone, I owe her a favor so I don’t know if she could be any kind of help to us but it is our only chance.” He said and I finally looked in his eyes. he looked determined. Unlike me. I was helpless, crying baby, unable to save anybody. But he was there, ready to fight anyone, for his alpha.
I closed my eyes; how pathetic I could be. Everyone was fighting while the only thing I could do was crying. Maybe I was really not cut to become an alpha.
“Alpha?” Asher whispered and I opened my eyes, he smiled slightly, maybe finally realiaizng my resolve.
“Don’t call me alpha anymore Asher. He is lucky to have you.” I said and smiled for the first time today.
“One more thing, we have to go alone.” he said and he looked some what uncomfortable. I know what he was thinking.
In all of this chaos, how should I believe him? I smiled again. “I trust you Asher. Reed entrusted you his pack behind him, I trust his decisions.” I said and he only nodded before mind linking someone. Probably our pack.
“Alph… I mean Luna.”
“Esma is fine.”
“We have to be quick. It will take a day before we could reach that place.” He said and with that he looked back. there was a warrior running from the other direction. he was from our pack. he bowed in front of me.
“I need to make some prior arrangements before we could leave, I already left the pack to beta of your pack. They were father and son, so they can each foresee both our packs in the meantime.” he said and I nodded. Yet again Asher amazed me with his brilliant tactic.
“And who is he?” I signaled toward the man and he shuddered under my intense gaze. I can see his hair on the neck straightened, probably due to reflex.
“Come forward and introduce yourself idiot.” Asher barked and the man rushed towards us before bowing once again, he didn’t look up.
“I am Gama in chief of the third force of Black claw pack, the name’s Leo.” He speaks and I hummed in response. He handed Asher an envelope and he nodded. Leo bowed again before vanishing in front of us.
“Here.” He handed me the envelope. “There was a lot of going on, I have summarized everything since you were gone.” He said.
I took the envelope in my hand and with that Asher just stood there, we both stand there in silence. “I’ll make the arrangements for our departure, you can talk to your brother.”
I hummed again. “Before that, please arrange a proper burial for him.” I said talking about the dead corpse of human in front of me.
“Yes alpha.” He bowed and with that he kneels down and picked the dead body of the human on his shoulder and started walking in the other direction, into the woods.
“How long you are going to pretend to hide?” I asked when I was sure Asher was long gone. August simply revealed himself behind the tree and started walking towards me.
“You are not going anywhere, end of discussion.” he only said and walked straight towards the hideout. I sighed.
“Not again.”
