Chapter 65 - Battlefield

“I said Kneel.” I commanded in the alpha voice. the wolves standing in front of me flinched from my command. I stand tall trying to intimidate them with my alpha aura. I still had the alpha blood coercing in my veins.

Normal wolves wouldn’t have a chance to stand let alone fight with me on equal par. Now they have three roads…

One, they could kneel in front of me as I commanded. Two, they could resist and fight which is very difficult for them as I have finally released my aura. I could see them getting goose bumps. The hair on their fur are straightening and they can’t do anything about it. The beasts inside them know their places.

Third was to flee and avoid blood loss. I had my bet on the third option. I don’t want blood loss either and after what Asher said I just can’t take them lightly. I quickly gathered my energy and transformed in my wolf. We can never tell what they have in their arsenal.

I let my wolf take control over my body as she stand straight on the ground. Her paws hitting the ground with a loud noise and she growled loudly before howling a menacing howl, loud enough to crush ears and head of any enemy.

The rogues take two steps back as they saw my resolve to fight. I was ready to fight. My wolf was eager for blood. To taste their flesh, to tear them from limb to limb. They take one more step back but out of nowhere one wolf stand tall and growled as if challenging himself against my alpha command.

I see, you have made your choice. With that I growled and attacked on him. With that, all war broke out once again.

I quickly tear his throat before I attacked on another wolf. And another and another. I could easily fight with three wolves together without breaking sweat. And they were already weak and intimidated with my alpha aura.

After killing my fair share of rogues, I turned back to analyze my warriors' fight. Wolf on wolf. teeth on teeth. Claws on claws. Flesh and fur being torn off. Blood spewing everywhere. My warriors cutting them short in number as I watched them.

The remaining handful bunch of survivors ran for their lives as cowards they were. We followed them till we hunted them down and with that I finally howled marking my presence in the territory.

“Half of you follow me, remaining split with Asher. Where are the remaining warriors?” I asked as I finally turned to the woods, purely based on my hunch.

“They are busy fighting rogues and witches. On the other side.” he said following me behind like a shadow. I hummed and started to run faster, deeper into the woods.

“Lets just not worry about Reed. I am absolutely sure, he is fine. He is more than enough to protect himself.” I said through the mind link. “Our first priority is to kill as many rogues, capture two of our enemies and subjugate the blade.”

We started heading to the main arena. Where the fight was going on. I know for sure I would better either one of them there. I am done with it. I am done with me saving all the time.

After a few miles sprinting in our wolf form, I stopped. I crouched behind a tree. through the woods I watched warriors fight. Witches overwhelming with their magic. Rogues fighting alongside witches was rare sight and as much I hate to say that I now know what Asher meant earlier.

They were fighting together in synchronicity. “Now.” I commanded and join the fight.

After what it takes another half an hour, we were done with killing all of them. We also faced a heavy casualty. Out of ten warriors I bought, I was left with just two. Same with Asher.

Including Asher and mine, we were remaining six in number.

“My, my. What a fierce fight it was. it had my blood pumping.” I heard voice coming from the woods from the other direction and before I could even comprehend who or what it was, I heard a loud thud and a sound of clapping of hands and before I could even react, all my warriors along with me were suddenly getting crushed by an invisible weight to the ground.

“What kind of sorcery is this?” I heard my warriors howl in pain in my mind link.

I finally gathered all my strength and lifted my head against this odd pressure.

There she was. standing in her all might, on the corpses of her own men, the very people who shed blood for her sake. She looked down upon us without even batting an eyelid of where she was standing.

“Ravenna.” I gritted my teeth seeing her. She looked down upon me again but she was not happy or her usual arrogant self. I can also tell she is not in her best condition. something was wrong with her.

It was only then I saw her right-hand bleeding, she was burnt. Her right hand was bleeding severely. She must have noticed me seeing her hand because she tried to cover it with her black cloak.

She was injured. Who could have injured her? was it Reed? But It was a burnt mark. Reed don’t resort to that. I could sense the magic from her, she was fighting another witch.

It hit me in the next second and I know who her opponent was. she fought Diana. But where is she? fuck. I need to do something.

“Escaping aye?” she tried to make a remark and faked her smile but I can see through her masks now.

I gathered all my strength and shifted before standing in front of her on my own two legs. She raised her one eyebrow as if she was amused by what she saw.

I have to distract her. got her into talking. Stall her as much as I could.

“Emmy?”

My head rings with the familiar voice of my brother and my heart leaped with joy knowing he has finally come.

“WHERE ARE YOU? I am heading straight to you. Don’t do something foolish.” He scolded me and I tried my best to stop my urge to roll my eyes. few more minutes…

“Still got something in your arsenal?” I was interrupted by Ravenna’s voice.

“Leave my men alone? it’s our fight.” I said looking straight in her purple eyes. they were deep enough to drown me and they hold so much intensity but as much they were fervent, they lack one thing.

They were dead.

“You are not in any position to reason with me.” she immediately refused to comply and I sighed.

“You are not in the position to fight either.” I said and smirked. her eyes shone like scarlet coals. I hit the nail.

“Where’s Diana?” I pressed further. On her mention, her eyes finally showed some glimmer and she smile knowingly. Her You-don’t-have-to-know-about-that-smile and trust me it infuriates me each and every time.

“I swear if you harm even a single hair of hers you will pay.” I threatened her, it was not an empty threat nor I was stalling any time. with that she started laughing manically.

“You all are nothing but just a handful of filthy dogs tearing their own kind for food and shelter. You all are just abomination. A mistake of gods and they didn’t even bother to correct it.”

“Who said we are handful?” my words proven right by the howling of hundreds of wolves in unison.

Ravenna’s eyes widened before realizing what just happened. I was stalling time. I sensed them as soon as they entered this place.

“You…” before she could say anything she was attacked by the large wolf of chocolate brown fur as same as mine. he pinned him down, ready to tear her throat.

He was no doubt August, I could spot him from a thousand miles.

“Sorry to make you wait.” He mind linked me.

“About time.” I said and sighed.
