Chapter 53 - Bonds

Reed’s pov.

“Again.” I growled. Asher looked light of breath but still managed to stood on his feet. Asher was somehow saved from the accident as the truck directly hit my side, I took all the damage.

The impact was so brutal, he ended up falling out from the window, I am glad he was alive, he was out for a day before his injuries started to get heal. I was out for a week.

What Diana told me, it was a human who hit us. And he didn’t know at the first place why or what he was doing there at the first place.

I snapped back from my senses as I got punched square on my face. dammit I was careless again to let my guard down.

Asher go for another punch and I dodged it this time by an inch. I backed down a little to catch him off guard and before he could emphasise my next move I pulled his arm and rotates it in a lock.

“Again.” I growled again as I pushed him on the ground. me and him are practice non stop from 4 in the morning. I could see the sun peeking through the woods and by the look of it I know it is the time for pack to gather around and practice.

I am glad nobody saw me last night. or maybe some of them did and kept quite feeling sorry for my pathetic state. I am the worst alpha who could ever stepped on the alpha throne.

The alpha who could not even protect his mate on the first place. How pathetic I could be.

“Let’s wrap it now. I am fine now. thank you for sticking with me.” I said and picked my t- shirt.

“Wait, are you not going to wait for other warriors?” he asked hopefully I would accept his proposal. I have trained with him but not with others. They hated me, they hate my guts. Even now, they have acknowledged me as their alpha but I am nothing to them more than that.

Honestly I was fine with it. I let Asher do everything, train them how Hecate trained me, prepared them for the inevitable war I bring them along with me. I truly am pathetic and piece of shit. Congratulations.

“Nah! I have to do something. Listen Asher.” I turned back to look him in the eye. To show him I am completely serious.

“I am going to protect her. I am going to rescue her.” suddenly the words feel heavy to came out from my tongue. This unbearable burden on my heart ready to crush it with every passing second since I am awake.

It is like I am rotten from the core. Rotten inside out.

“I will be right at your side then. Like I always been.” He said with pure resolve in his eyes.

“Don’t make me guilty than I already am. You didn’t get your vacation unlike other times.” I smiled knowing how I robbed him from his one wish.

Every year Asher suddenly disappears without any trace, not telling a soul, not even me. He never told me where he goes and I never pushed him for answers, I respect his privacy.

This year he asked me if it was okay to go and I approved him. but now, seeing the dire need of him, I just simply can’t.

That fucking cult of whores have gone way too far. Now there is only one way, the road to blood. I heard the rustling of the grass and before I know we were surrounded by almost hundred wolves of my pack.

I lifted my eyebrow in question and Asher just smiled. “I didn’t ask them. They volunteered themselves.” He said and I feel the pinch of pride in his voice. a wolf much bigger than usuals transformed in human and bowed.

I know him, he was the second in command, the omega of the Blacklaw pack and direct man under the command of Asher. One of the finest warriors of mine I am proud of. Vados, if I remember his name.

“Allow me alpha to be the part of your army. Sir Asher filled me in with all the details and you have my word, who ever even thinks to harm a single hair of our Luna will perish.” He said and all the wolves howls in unison as if signing their death warrant.

“You are not alone in this alpha. We all are going to save our Luna.” Asher said and bowed down on his one knee in front of me. all other bowed their heads down as well.

My heart for the first time swelled with pride, I was fool to think I was alone. I have them. I will protect them and they will protect me. we are unstoppable. How did I never see it when it was pretty much in front of my eyes.

I clapped my hands to bring their attention. Diana can wait for me.

“All of you work under the groups of six and take turns in rotation. You have to beat five wolves together.” I ordered but with their faces I can tell they didn’t agree.

“Asher!” Asher turned in his gigantic wolf. we always fight in human form but seeing him in wolf reminds me how much I missed mine.

The gigantic black mistic wolf on his fours, standing in his glory roared and other wolves shivered in fear with his growl only.

“Now attack with the group of five on him. together. No holding back.” I said and five of them including Vados surrounded him sowing their fangs.

They attack together and though all of them looked sloppy in front of Asher, it took him long ten minutes to beat them all by himself.

“You see that. every one of you have to connect yourself with your core, that is your wolf. let it be in control. Don’t be afraid to give your control to your wolf, if you trust its instinct, you will be unstoppable.” I said and Asher transformed back in human form.

“Make their groups of six.” I turned back to them. “We have only one day, I am going to wipe their whole cult from the map. I will make sure no them, not anyone, even the gods will fear under the name of Blacklaw pack.” I growled loudly.

“Held your heads high. Roar. Let them know who they messed with.” I growled again and followed by theirs.

“Now start with your training.” I ordered and saw the hint of smile on Asher’s face. I know he was seeing to this day when he could relax and see his people got their ass kicked by me.

“Very well then.” I turned my head to see the sun rising in its full glory now. you seeing this Ravenna. You are going to regret your decision to mess with me and I will make sure you will burn in the deepest pits of hell. Just wait.
