Chapter 35 — Recovery
Sophia's POV:
The rogues took me. The leader tried to bite me the second I was down. Now, I remembered everything. He tried to bite me, saying I was his mate now. Saying that I couldn't reject him again because he was my mate now. He kept calling me Lillian. I wasn't her, but he wouldn't believe me, no matter how many times I told him I wasn't her and that he couldn't claim me because I belonged to someone else.
Sometimes, he'd yell and tell me I was his. Other times, he'd just cry and beg me not to leave him, promising to be good for me. I just nodded at him, too afraid to say anything. When he did bite me, it hurt. He made my bond with Victor feel weird. I still felt Daddy, but I couldn't talk to him. Even when I tried, he couldn't hear me. One guy stayed in his human form while talking to me and bringing me food. But the other guy would go into his wolf form and scare the hell out of me. I was grateful for the cage, then; he couldn't get to me while in his wolf form.
Days passed, and then more days passed. Finally, the one who had abducted me didn't come back. I stayed there alone. I tried to make my food and water last me as long as possible. Eventually, I ran out of everything. I spent most of the day sleeping, too tired to wake up or even lift my head.
Then, I heard a howl—not a rogue's howl. It was similar to the one I had heard back home, the one I howled together with my pack at the party. I decided to take this chance. I needed to be saved. I lifted my head and howled back with all my strength. It was loud, too loud for my own ears. It took up too much of my own strength, and I fell asleep after that.
I didn't remember much when I woke up in Daddy's lap, my head on his chest and a paci in my mouth. He was playing with my hair. I heard my brothers' voices, which made me smile. They were here. I was back.
"Daddy?" I asked through our bond. It was working again! Finally!
"Baby, are you okay?" he asked, kissing my face all over and making me smile. I didn't feel like talking yet. "I missed you so much. I'm never letting you go. Never ever," he said, landing more kisses on my face and neck. I was too weak to actually push him away, but I did enjoy his attention.
"Victor! She's our sister too; we want to see her," I heard Alvin say. That made me sit up happily because I wanted to see my brothers.
"Leave and come back when I'm done loving her…which will be never," Daddy replied, making me giggle again.
"Not fair, jerk. We miss her too," Adam said. I giggled again.
"You want to see them, honey?" he asked me, and I nodded yes. I did want to see my brothers.
"Come in," Daddy said, and they ran inside toward me, trying to give me a hug, but Daddy growled at them, making them stay away.
"You really should've chosen me, little sis. I'm the more handsome brother," Adam said, making me giggle.
"Welcome back, Luna," Alvin said with a real smile, holding Sammy in his arms.
"Welcome back, girl," Kyle said, giving me a high five.
Finally, Sammy got close and gave me a quick hug, keeping it light so I wouldn't be hurt. I smiled at them through my paci, too happy with it to spit it out yet.
"Leave, you four. I need to feed her," Daddy said. I looked up at him in confusion. He just smiled at me and kicked our brothers out. For food, he got out a baby bottle. I looked at it with surprise. What was this about?
"You haven't eaten in so long. Hard food is too much for you," he said, and I nodded. Okay, maybe he did have a point.
He forced my paci out and exchanged it with the bottle nipple. It was weird at first, but I took it happily. The warm milk made my stomach feel warm and full. I drank the whole thing, happy and full. When I was done, Daddy exchanged the bottle for my paci again, helping me fall asleep against his chest.
