Chapter 31 — Naughty Girl

Victor's POV:

I couldn't find her. She was not in school or in the parking lot or with my brothers. I was losing it. Where the hell was that naughty Little girl?

I called her through our bond, asking where she had gone! She said she had gotten a ride home with her Niti. It wasn't usual for her to do anything like this. She usually waited for me, and we'd leave together—never alone, and never in this secret way.

I was worried about her now. If she said she was going home, then I should go home too. I got on my bike and took off toward the house.

The rest of the pack and my teammates said they wanted to go to this party. It was not uncommon to have parties in the woods. Sometimes, my family would join, and other times, they wouldn't. The hosts needed permission to throw this party, and it had been granted, but I didn't plan on going there, too.

When I got home, I went to our room but didn't find Sophia there. I went to her old bedroom, and still—nothing. I started searching for her again. I ran through the house, searching for my baby. Her scent wasn't as prominent as it should be if she had returned home already.

But I kept telling myself she might just be somewhere else in the house. My search took me toward the backyard and the woods, but still, there was no Little one. I asked Sammy, her partner in crime, if they were up to anything, and he said no. Adam had been with me the whole time, and Alvin was busy on patrols. That only left Kyle.

"Kyle, Sophia didn't come home yet. Do you know where she is?" I asked him, worried about her.

"No, I haven't seen her since school," he replied.

"Did she say anything back at school? She was overactive the whole day," I asked again. She wasn't in her Little space. I worried more about Big Sophia than Little Sophia when it came to her misbehaving. The worst Little Sophia could do was eat cookies without my permission, but Big Sophia could do much worse than that.

"No…" Kyle said, but he seemed to be thinking about something. He had this look on his face that said "guilty."

"Kyle?" I asked.

"Okay, fine! She asked about the party. I told her she couldn't go! And that you'd have my heart if I took her there," he said. I knew he wasn't lying right now. His eyes and voice were telling the truth, but right now, I knew where my baby was!

Kyle was right. I would have anyone's heart for taking her there, but I'd have the princess's bum-bum for what she did—lying to me, sneaking out, going to a party without my permission.

I used our bond to ask her again where she was. If she came clean, I might take it easier on her. She didn't reply. It was then that I felt her fear. It wasn't like the time Adam had scared her; this time, her fear was real.

I jumped to my feet and took off running, shifting into my wolf. I called my Beta, Alvin. He hated being summoned but didn't mind when we talked via our Alpha/Beta bond. I asked him if he knew about anything going down, but my brother didn't reply. He always replied quickly.

Now that my fear had doubled, I ran faster until I reached the meadow where the party was being held. There was a mix of wolf smells and scents and some alcohol, but what scared me the most was the last scent I could identify.

"Alpha…we've…got a problem," my brother said through our bond. I knew something was wrong the second I reached the party, but his voice sounded weak—not a good sign.

"Where are you, Alvin?" I asked him.

"Had to call Dad for help. I'm in the infirmary," he said, making my heart drop.

If my strong dominant wolf brother was in the infirmary, what had happened to my baby?

"Alvin, where's Sophia?" I asked, but there was no answer. "Alvin, where's my mate?" I asked him again, raising my voice.

When he didn't reply, I shifted back into my human form. The fear and emotions were getting the best of me.

"DAMN IT, ALVIN, WHERE THE HELL IS MY BABY?" I yelled out loud and through our bond.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. They took her," he said in an apologetic voice.

I dropped to my knees and let out one long, hollow, painful howl.

The rogues just took my mate.
