Author’s POV
He went to the bathroom as he needed a shower to calm himself down.
Aashi came to the garden because she felt suffocated there, so she wanted fresh air, nothing could be a better option than the garden.
Today, for the first time, she was very angry with him and she felt like slapping him until he got some senses because whenever she felt that everything was going well and they could lead a life a normal couple, he ruined everything.
She was really tired of giving him chances while he made the same mistake every time and expected her to forgive him and forget everything and move on with him and she always came in his words like a fool but this time she did not want to forgive him without punishing him, but what punishment should she give him in such a way that she could teach him a lesson for his lifetime that he couldn’t do whatever he wanted without giving fuck about her feelings.
She was so lost in herself that she didn’t even notice that someone came close to her and had been looking at her for a long time but when he put his hand on her shoulder then she realised that she was not alone.
She quickly wiped her tears before raising her head to find Neeraj who was looking at him with soft eyes.
"Can I sit here" he asked smiling at her to which she gave him a small forced smile nodding her head.
He sat on the sofa and looked at her who was trying to control her tears but they were damm stubborn to come out.
He didn’t need to ask her the reason behind it because ever since he came to know how Vishant forcefully married her, he had been feeling guilty that everything was happening in front of him and he didn't even know about it.
These last two weeks were full of shock for him and Savitri that the death of his son and daughter-in-law whom they had thought to be an accident for so many years was a cold-blooded murder and his grandsons was burning in the fire of revenge in which Vishant dragged this innocent in this mess.
He and Savitri apologized to Aashi for their rude behaviour that they had done to her for which she forgave them saying that they were right in their place and unaware of the truth. This act of her touched his heart but since few days there was something which was eating him from inside.
“What did Vishant do now?? Neeraj asked her making her eyes wide open.
She looked at him who was looking at her but there was something in his eyes which she did not recognize.
"How are you sure he is the one who did it? There must be some other reason," she exclaimed.
"After all the truths that has come out in these two weeks, I do not need any proof to know who is the reason for the tears in your eyes. If you do not want to tell then I will not force you to tell, but I would like to tell you one thing from my experience that we human do not value what we get easily without putting any effort, whether it is something or someone.” Neeraj told her which he learned from his life.
"What do you want to say?? Can you tell me in clear words?" She was understanding towards which direction his words were pointing but she still wanted to hear from his mouth whether he was trying to say what she was understanding.
He smiled listening to her and looked at her who was looking at him intently with desperation in her eyes to know that he could see her clearly.
“If you want to hear in clear words then listen but before that answer my questions” he said keeping his hand on her head to which she just nodded her head a little kid. he smiled at her antic.
"Do you love him" she frowned at his question what was it a question, yes, she loved him that's why after everything she faced in their marriage, she was still with him but still she nodded.
"Now you tell me two things that you don't like about Vishant??" he asked her to which she immediately replied as if she was expecting someone to ask her just once "His anger and his controlling and Dominating nature, he like to do what he thinks is right no matter how much it hurts others"
“Yeh one more thing his possessiveness which makes everything very difficult for me sometimes" she added to which Neeraj chuckled "I think you have a long list of complaints about my grandson but what is your fault in this if he is like that. He is such a donkey” he made light jokes to lighten up her mood and it worked as he saw a lovely smile playing on her lips but he took a long breath as he had something to share with her.
"Ok so now that you are in a good mood let me come back to my grandson's actions which deserve punishment rather than forgiveness and I expect you to punish him for what he has done to you because he has no right to do what he did to you." This time he said in his serious voice which drew her full attention to him.
"You know that the one who tolerates the crime and remains silent is more guilty than the one who committed it and you are doing same. You should have given him a tight slap when he hurt you for the first time and instead of fearing of him, you should have faced him little bravely but the way you chose to remain silent was wrong, it gave him control over you and he take you for granted because he thinks no matter how angry or upset you get with him you will eventually go to him so he doesn’t value you. You may find my words bitter but it's the truth" he told her all that he wanted to tell her for the past two weeks but when he saw Vishant's efforts to make their marriage successful, he decided to remain silent but when he saw crying today, he became sure that it was necessary to teach to his grandson that there were two people in a marriage and not one.
Tears started flowing from her eyes which had stopped long back. His words were bitter but indeed they were equally true. She had given the right vishant to treat her like this, so only she could snatch this right from him, but how??
"I don't know what to do Dadu or how to explain to him that we can't live like this where I am scared that when he will get angry and he will destroy everything. I don't know what I should do so that I can tell him that the solution to every problem is not his anger and not to silence me. Please help me, I cannot live like this. I know he loves me a lot but just love is not enough, I need respect and the right to take my own decisions." She broke down in tears holding her face in her hands.
Her body started trembling as every sob left her mouth and with every second her cries got louder which hurt him as she was like a granddaughter to him which he never had so he took her in his arms and started caressing her back to calm her down who was crying like a small child in his arms clutching his t-shirt in her fists on his chest.
He didn’t say anything to her until she didn’t calm down but when her crying turned into sniff when he asked her "Are you feeling well now??"
