Aurora reflexively lowered her face.

Making Lexton now stare at her intently, though there was still a smirk on the man's face.

"Are you saying I should stay here with you, Mr. Lexton?" asked Aurora clarifying. The woman's tone unconsciously rose an octave, with eyeballs almost sticking out.

'Me and you are here? In the same bed, in the same closed room? Come on!' the woman had already thought to herself.

Aurora didn't want to be misunderstood. Because Lexton should have known that the man's request might cause danger.

A danger that might happen, even if it was a danger they both wanted.

Just imagine two human children who yearned for each other in the same room, spending time that seemed to be slowly spinning. What could possibly happen?

Would Lexton and Aurora be able to overcome the desire that struggled inside each of them?

Lexton cleared his throat softly.

Straightening up, the Alpha still let his right hand rest on the back of the sofa. Aurora had already stretched her distance, but Lexton could understand that she must have been surprised.

It wasn't contrived, and Aurora wasn't acting. Lexton had already guessed what kind of reaction Aurora might give him, and this was exactly what he had predicted.

"I don't want to be apart," Lexton said casually as he tried to explain. "I want you in my sight, in my care, in my arms. And you'll be safe if you're next to me."

Lexton unintentionally moved slowly, making the three buttons of his shirt even more exposed.

Aurora swallowed hard. She was still at war with herself, as her focus was now divided. Half was still wondering about the continuation of Lexton's request, and the other half was already focused on the man's shirt.

'Damn it, Aurora!' she cursed to herself. 'Stop that dirty mind of yours, for heaven's sake!'

Aurora didn't know which demon was whispering in her ear, now that curiosity was lingering in her heart. The woman's eyes dropped to glance at Lexton's shirt, wondering what he looked like and the color of the skin hidden inside.

Her mind was already flying, imagining what if the button had been opened one more time. Would what was hidden on the other side be more obvious?

Finding Aurora pensive, Lexton waved a hand in front of her face.

"What are you thinking about, Aurora?" asked Lexton, breaking her concentration.

Aurora gasped softly, trying to pull herself away from the fantasies that had just formed.

Stammering again, Aurora waved a hand across her chest in a gesture of nothingness.

"Ah, I see," the woman said simply. She had actually forgotten about Lexton's excuse earlier, and now she was at a loss as to how to deal with the man.

"You don't mind being here, do you?" Lexton again tried to confirm Aurora's availability.

It had been a long time since Lexton had put this much hope into something. This time the man's blood rushed, full of hope that Aurora would agree to stay.

Because the reason that Lexton had stated earlier was indeed a fact, as the man realized that he did want Aurora to be close to him.

After the events of the warm embrace they had the last time, Lexton really wished he could sleep as soundly as he did then. Aurora's presence calmed him down, and using the excuse of keeping her safe should have been enough for Aurora to stay.

Aurora still looked nurturing, with her eyeballs rolling perfectly. She was considering and analyzing the risks that might arise, if she nodded her head this time.

Asking herself if she wanted to stay in the man's apartment, Aurora found that part of her did prefer to be around the Alpha.

"Don't you trust me?" Lexton's voice was in the air first, ahead of Aurora who was still sorting through the words in silence.

The woman suddenly raised her head, staring to reply to how Lexton's dusky orbs were now glaring deeply at her.

The expression on the man's face was unpredictable, but the light emanating from the Alpha's bead still looked the same.

"It's not like that," Aurora's voice stuttered, almost choking in her throat.

Lexton inhaled and exhaled slowly. The man seemed to be waiting, as Aurora still had a lot to say.

"It's not that I don't trust you, Mr. Lexton," Aurora said then. "It's just, are you sure everything will be alright?"

Aurora's question seemed very ambiguous. Were they not okay right now?

"Of course," Lexton replied without hesitation. "Do you think something might have happened between us?"

Raising one eyebrow, Lexton was already back to leading the conversation. Playing pretend not to know right now, the man was just curious as to how Aurora would handle this.

Aurora shook her head quickly. Worried that Lexton would guess that she had just been playing with her fantasies, the girl hurriedly opened her voice.

"Of course not!" she argued. "You're right, what's going to happen?"

There was a heat that ran through Lexton's body, which was also running through Aurora's bloodstream. Seeing that his girl's cheeks were now rosy, Lexton couldn't help but draw a smile.

"No problem then," Lexton replied again. "Stay here, we'll be back in a few days anyway."

Aurora blinked again.

"Really? We'll be back?"

Lexton nodded vaguely. The man resumed his sitting position, now glancing at the watch he wore on his right wrist.

Lexton usually wore the watch on his left hand, and now he felt a little odd having to look at his watch in the opposite direction.

Checking that it was almost nighttime, Lexton rose slowly from the sofa he had been sitting on.

"Have you noticed the night view these few days, Aurora?" he asked as he swung around. Heading towards the balcony, which was not far from his big bed.

Aurora turned her head to follow the movement of Lexton's body. She found that he was now almost at the large window, which was on the left side of the apartment.

Shifting the window, Lexton had already stepped onto the balcony of his apartment.

It didn't take long for Aurora to get up and follow Lexton's footsteps.

"I didn't notice," she said honestly. "Oliv always repeats and warns me to close all the windows anyway, even though there are always two men standing guard at the door."

Aurora was clearly grumbling.

Lexton stopped right in the middle of the balcony, looking up at the city sky that was now beginning to appear reddish in color with a tinge of orange.

The bustling streets below were still crowded, but the city lights from the skyscrapers were already starting to take on color.

Aurora stopped right behind Lexton, noticing how he was gazing in amazement at the view ahead of them.

"It's a beautiful view from here," Aurora muttered absentmindedly.

The girl had never really stepped onto the balcony during her time at Lexton's apartment, again because of Oliv who kept nagging her not to go anywhere.

Lexton nodded with slow movements. He agreed with what Aurora had said, because the sky was looking beautiful right now.

"Move to my side, Aurora," Lexton commanded clearly, which was followed by Aurora moving to the Alpha's side not long after.

Positioning Aurora slightly ahead of himself, Lexton simply wrapped his right arm around the girl's neck.

Embracing his girl, embracing the one person who made his day more colorful.

The breeze that blew that evening hit both of their bodies, sending a soothing chill down their spine.

Aurora was lost in the situation Lexton had created, unconsciously resting her head on the Alpha's upper chest.

"Aurora."

Lexton's voice sounded very soft, as Aurora only responded by giving a deafening gasp.

"Hmm?"

Two seconds of silence followed, before Lexton opened his voice again.

"Do you want to go out with me?"
