The reddish tinge in the city sky had been replaced by the dimness of night. Lexton and Aurora stayed on the balcony until a few minutes later, thoroughly enjoying how the earth was turning dark now.

The wind that was blowing was even stronger, blowing Aurora's hair even though the girl's hair was still in a very neat ponytail.

"Are you cold?"

Tightening the embrace from one hand, Lexton tried to make Aurora more comfortable.

The skinship between the two had really gotten a lot better, and Lexton liked the fact that his girl no longer seemed awkward around him.

Aurora is like an open book. So easy for Lexton to read, and the man again liked how Aurora showed her feelings.

Shaking her head faintly, Aurora said softly.

"It's not cold, really. You're holding me right now."

The words sounded ordinary, but somehow managed to spark something huge in Lexton's heart.

It had been a long time since he had felt the thrill and happiness of feeling for someone.

Last time, Lexton had swallowed a deep disappointment because Jovanka had ended up betraying him. At that time, Lexton had thought that Jovanka was the woman who would always be by his side.

The last woman, who would probably bear the name Alfacht after her name.

But she chose the wrong path, one that simply blurred all of Lexton's feelings for her. There was no love left, and Lexton had forgotten every little thing about Jovanka Scholer.

Pretending she was gone would have been better, because Lexton really didn't want to revisit the past that had left him with wounds and pain in his heart.

Lexton Alfacht was indeed someone who grew up in darkness. Accustomed to scenes of violence, power struggles, and other physical encounters, it did not make Lexton's feelings harden like stone.

Behind the sturdy and fierce man he appears to be from the outside, Lexton has a warm side when it comes to feelings.

He never messed around with women, though none had managed to stay by his side so far.

"It's getting dark in here," Lexton whispered later. "Shall we go in now?"

Aurora looked up once more towards the sky, finding that the sun had completely set. The reddish tinge of earlier was no longer visible, as the sky in the city had now turned grayish.

Nodding her head, Aurora agreed with Lexton's proposal.

"Come on," she replied softly. "It's already late, but I'll take a shower first."

Releasing the embrace from her right hand, Lexton allowed Aurora to turn around until they were face to face.

"You don't mind me using the bathroom first?" Aurora asked reassuringly. Because now she was not the only one using all the facilities in the apartment, but the original owner was with her.

Giving a nod, Lexton again stroked her mane in a gentle motion.

"Go take a shower," she said in a half-whisper. "Afterwards I'll take turns showering, and then we can continue what we left off."

Aurora widened her eyes, embarrassed by what Lexton had just said to her.

"What the hell are you, Mr. Lexton!" she muttered later. "You're enjoying how you keep rubbing me the wrong way, aren't you?"

A small chuckle escaped Lexton's lips. He liked how Aurora squinted and looked at him with a suspicious gaze, as it again caused a new sensation for him.

"Watch out if you mess up!" Aurora said then, tapping her index finger on the Alpha's chest.

She didn't know where the courage came from that allowed her to act like this, but it felt like their relationship had gotten a lot better.

"Oh, we'll see about that," Lexton replied, still laughing behind him.

Aurora did not want to prolong their absurd conversation, as she now chose to walk away.

Finding Lexton not trailing behind, the woman stopped right at the large window that connected the main room of the apartment and the balcony.

"You're not coming in?" The girl asked again.

Smiling softly, Lexton turned around to meet Aurora's gaze. The man's hand reached into the pocket of his jeans, pulling out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from there.

"I'll smoke first," the man replied honestly. "My lips are bitter, because I haven't smoked this cigarette in almost four days."

Aurora knew Lexton was a smoker. Not wanting to criticize the man's choice, Aurora chose to just nod her head.

Moving on, she was already heading towards the bathroom.

Leaving Lexton on the balcony, who had now slipped the cigarette between his lips. Savoring the way the poison spread through his veins, Lexton inhaled and exhaled deeply.

His mind was already wandering, but he knew he had to survive.

"Come here, Aurora."

Lexton's voice sounded distinctive, as Aurora now turned her head to check the man's position.

The awkward atmosphere was unavoidable, as the two grew more and more awkward as the night crept up.

After cleaning themselves up earlier, both Lexton and Aurora seemed to be trying to keep some distance between them.

Oliv came and knocked on the door at eight o'clock in the evening, delivering several portions of dinner for Aurora and Lexton.

Not forgetting to give a message for the Alpha to take the medicine that doctor Yossef had prescribed for him, Oliv then retreated from there.

The atmosphere in the apartment was even warmer now that it was time for them to fall asleep.

Aurora had chosen to sit and hold the remote on the sofa, while Lexton was leaning against the headboard of the bed with a laptop running in front of him.

There were still a few files that the man needed to review, so he had already spent quite some time.

Aurora got up from the sofa, turned off the television and placed the remote on the table. Stepping slowly and haltingly, the girl tried hard not to look awkward.

Lexton had put away the laptop that had been on his lap, now seemingly ready to welcome Aurora's arrival.

"Come up," Lexton pleaded again, as Aurora stopped her steps right at the edge of the bed.

The girl squeezed her fingers unconsciously, taking a deep breath before she stepped up to the same spot.

Lexton was already waiting for her up there, with a gaze that did not look away for a second.

"Come closer to me."

Lexton's voice came back, as the man's right hand opened. It was as if he was offering another embrace, hoping that Aurora would welcome it.

Aurora couldn't deny that she wanted that hug too. Inching closer to Lexton, Aurora slipped back into the Alpha's embrace.

A peck on Aurora's forehead was the opening scene, as Lexton did it very gently and quickly.

"Do you like it here, Aurora?" the man whispered softly, lowering his head slightly to look at his girl.

Aurora didn't know if she should nod or shake her head, but then she only answered with a single deafening gasp.

"Hm mh."

Lexton leaned closer.

"What do you like about being around me?" the Alpha asked again.

Aurora seemed to think for a moment.

"I like the smell of your body," she answered honestly. "The perfume you wear smells very masculine, and for some reason I like it."

Lexton smiled at Aurora's explanation. He hadn't expected her to answer like that, but he was also happy to hear it.

"You like my body odor?" Lexton didn't seem to want to stop.

Aurora nodded again. Leaning her head on the man's shoulder, with her hand now resting on Lexton's chest.

"Yes, I like it."

Lexton leaned closer to tease his girl, enduring the throbbing in his head that now felt so excruciating. There was something so suffocating about her, and he wanted her now.

"What if I give you one chance?" Lexton offered this time.

Aurora waited, eyes blinking twice.

"What chance?"

Lexton flashed a smile, teasing his girl openly now.

"The chance to play with my body," he said excitedly. "And the chance to smell that scent you love, without any limits."
