Chapter 57

Aurora had almost fallen asleep, right there on the sofa opposite the wide-screen television. It was showing a news broadcast, but Aurora wasn't really focused on enjoying it for a second.

Her purpose in turning on the television in the first place was simply to break the silence, and it seemed to have worked because now Aurora felt sleepy afterward.

Her eyelids were almost perfectly closed when the faintest of steps could be heard coming from the doorway.

Followed by a loud 'click', the large wooden door was pushed slowly as Aurora regained consciousness.

Straightening up her body that was about to sag, Aurora's hazel eyes found that someone had just walked in there.

Her beady eyes lit up as she now saw Lexton walking towards her.

"Are you back, Mr. Lexton?"

The question slipped from Aurora's lips, as her body slowly straightened up.

Lexton developed a smile. Narrowing the distance between him and his girl, the Alpha simply spread both hands.

There was a sense of longing that had been nestled in the corner of his heart since earlier, even he could not wait to look back into her eyes.

Aurora reflexively smiled too. Shifting to move from beside the sofa, the woman stepped over to Lexton who was now stopped in the center of the room.

Immediately rushing into the man's arms, Aurora was careful not to cause any pain to the Alpha.

"Are you watching the news?" Lexton whispered softly, earning a faint nod from Aurora who now looked up to meet his gaze.

Releasing the hug slowly, Aurora raised her voice to answer.

"Just so I don't feel lonely," she said. "Since Oliv wouldn't let me come to get you, I turned on the television so I could hear other voices in this big room."

The apartment Lexton lived in was one of the best in the building. Equipped with ample facilities, Lexton had to spend even more because the apartment registered in his name had a beautiful view.

Being dozens of stories high, Lexton always liked to enjoy how the city seemed to be just below his reach when he stood at the edge of the balcony.

The lights would shine and highlight, creating a harmony that looked incredible. And he liked that.

"You won't be lonely anymore now," Lexton said later. "Because I'm back."

Aurora nodded her head, still holding back the smile that was plastered on her beautiful face.

The shirt Lexton was wearing was open from the top three buttons, and for some reason Aurora liked how the man looked so seductive.

If you noticed, Lexton always left his top shirt button open. Perhaps he liked the sensation of people staring at his ample chest.

Aurora was no exception at the moment.

"Have you eaten, Mr. Lexton?" Aurora's voice came back, as the two walked side by side towards the sofa.

Lexton flung himself onto one of the loungers, while Aurora was still standing on the edge.

"Do you have any food?"

Aurora nodded her head.

"Oliv ordered lunch and some snacks before he left," Aurora replied. "That guy filled your fridge with tons of groceries. There's still a fruit salad, a very thick mango juice, and some chocolates Oliv bought you this morning."

Lexton enjoyed how Aurora's voice flowed beautifully, penetrating one after another into his eardrums.

The Alpha couldn't shift his gaze from her, as he now unconsciously widened his smile.

"Thick mango juice would be fine," Lexton chose. "You wouldn't mind getting me a glass of that?"

"Of course!" Aurora didn't even need time to think. Even though the man had returned from the hospital, Lexton was still not fully recovered.

"Wait here, I'll get it for you."

Aurora had already turned around first, heading towards the kitchen on her right. She had been staying there for more than two days, and the apartment was starting to feel familiar now.

Even when Lexton had to spend a few days in the hospital yesterday, Aurora had already slept in the man's bed.

Returning with a large glass of mango juice that was indeed thick and cold, Aurora thrust the clear glass in front of Lexton.

"Can you eat and drink everything?" Aurora asked for confirmation. "Did the doctor say there were no restrictions for you?"

The woman took a position next to Lexton, keeping a safe distance in order to neutralize the heartbeat that kept jumping up.

Aurora didn't know if she was the only one with this sensation, but it was best to keep Lexton from discovering her awkwardness at not being able to control herself.

Lexton shook his head slowly. Holding the clear glass in his right hand, the Alpha then moved to press the corner of his lips against the edge of the glass.

Tasting how sweet and cold the mango juice Aurora had given him was, Lexton seemed satisfied with what he was now sipping.

"It's sweet and delicious," Lexton commented. Having had enough for his first sip, the man put the clear glass back on the table.

"No taboos for me, Aurora," the man continued, his body now shifting to look at Aurora closely. "I've recovered, and you really have nothing to worry about."

Aurora knew Lexton just didn't want her to think about things she shouldn't. Because a Lexton Alfacht who was also the leader of a powerful organization, must have been forged to have the stamina and strength to face any situation.

"I know you're strong, Mr. Lexton," Aurora said again. "I just wanted to make sure you were really feeling better now."

Lexton's right arm went up to the edge of the sofa, resting there as the man now ran a gentle hand through Aurora's hair.

Aurora did not recoil at all, instead seeming to enjoy how the man's palm felt on her head.

Half of Aurora still felt like this was a dream, because she didn't expect her relationship with the adult man to change in such a short time.

Aurora could still imagine how Lexton had almost cut off someone's airway that night, but now the Alpha seemed so warm and reassuring.

Again like two sides of a coin, Aurora tried to understand that Lexton might also have two different sides. A side that the man could not show her, because Lexton had chosen to show her another side.

There was a few moments of silence between the two, when it was Aurora who broke the silence again.

"Since you're back, Mr. Lexton, then I should get out of here," the girl said.

Lexton listened intently, apparently not intending to open his voice yet.

"While you were in the hospital, I lived and slept here in your apartment," Aurora continued. "But now that the owner is back, I'm going to see Oliv to ask where my room is. It's possible that he's already prepared another room."

Lexton smiled. This woman in front of him was so young and innocent that it made his fantasies run wild.

Aurora's innocence aroused the Alpha's pent-up desire, as now the man could only smile with a smirk on the corner of his lips.

Aurora was just about to get up from her seat, when Lexton's hand was already holding her back.

Having just made Aurora sit back down albeit with a gentle push, Lexton now had a look in her girl's eyes.

"No room for you, Baby Girl," Lexton whispered in a low tone. Deliberately moving his face forward, he now targeted Aurora's right ear.

Aurora suddenly froze.

The pounding inside was getting louder and louder, and she hoped Lexton hadn't picked up on it.

"What do you mean?" asked Aurora half-stammering. The two were very close, but it seemed that only Lexton was smiling now.

"Don't you know where you're supposed to be, Aurora?" whispered Lexton again. Intentionally puffing his breath against Aurora's nape, the Alpha could hear the woman's ragged breathing.

Lexton didn't seem to have any intention of ending his teasing, as he now moved to give her a peck on her right cheek.

Making Aurora even more rigid as a statue, when Lexton's voice came up later.

"Because after you decided to climb into my bed that time," Lexton whispered softly. "That means you're going to climb into whatever bed I'm in, too."
