Chapter 47 — Chaos
“W-what?” She didn’t turn around to face him. Instead, she clenched her fists and her nails dug deep in her flesh. She was shocked and dumbfounded.
“Let’s get married tomorrow,” Ace answered calmly as if it was a normal thing to say. “To be more official and lawful,” he added and stepped closer to Thea, who was frozen.
The place was crowded with military personnel, but that didn’t stop Ace from being intimate with his wife in front of everyone’s envious eyes. In fact, a playful smile was plastered on his face, and he chuckled quietly ears.
“What?” he asked innocently, and slipped his long, solid arms around her waist. “Do you not want me anymore? Hmm?” His hot breath pulsed over her most sensitive body part—her neck—sending a jolt of electricity down her.
It was as if someone dumped cold water on her. Ace’s voice was such a tease and there was a hint of flirtation. Was he flirting with her? She was so shocked that she forgot how to breathe for ten seconds straight.
“Um…it depends on you,” she mumbled with her chest tightening. As his slender fingers made circles on her skin, she felt her breath becoming hectic. She wanted to push him away but a part of her told her not to.
He sniffed her from her hair down to her neck before releasing her. Thea’s face flushed red, and her heart seemed like it was pumping so hard as if it eagerly wanted to get out of her chest.
“Let’s look around first before going back,” he said and then grabbed her hand, intertwining their fingers, and walked with her hand in hand.
Of course, this felt new! Of course, it was a different feeling! She felt like she was floating on cloud nine with the person who was already special in her heart even though they had not known each other long. She didn’t see other people who were looking at them with jealousy in their eyes.
There wasn’t actually a view that was pleasing to the eye, but with him beside her, Thea didn’t care. The place was only for the military, but she never felt so satisfied exploring a place with him by her side.
For almost a month, she experienced a lot of happiness and heartache, but she just couldn’t get enough of it. Did he know that he had an extreme impact on her? Did he even think about her as a person and not as part of a prophecy?
“No…” With that voice in her head, she felt a little bit dizzy, but she chose not to tell him since they were enjoying the moment in each other’s arms.
They took three hours before they decided to call Red and go back to the city. Ace dialed his number and asked him to pick them up.
“What did you say?!” Thea was stunned because of his terrifying voice. She was automatically interested when his face darkened.
“Come here quick!” Then he ended the call with his eyes blazing with fire. Was he angry?
“What happened?” she asked curiously. They were so calm earlier, and he was so gentle and sweet, but his mood changed abruptly from just a single call. What happened?
“It's about—"
“Master!” Red's loud voice cut him off. They turned to Red. His forehead was sweating, and his back was soaking wet. His clothes were still the same, but his entire mood had changed.
“I just got a message from Cabrine City earlier, and there’s bad news.” His face was wet, and his lips were pale, but he was still handsome.
Hearing such a statement, Ace frowned while Thea was still looking at them without a clue.
“Tell me what happened.” His voice was deep and cold, the way it was the first time they met in the elevator. Ace let go of her hand and she was stunned.
“It’s a long story, young master. The city of Caprus wanted to rebel. Although all of the six young masters were already there, they still need your guidance,” Red stated.
“Is Dye already there?” Red nodded and gave something to Ace, but Thea didn’t see it due to his broad back.
“One more thing, master.” Red paused and glanced at Thea before continuing. “Miss Cassandra is missing. Someone kidnapped her and she hasn’t been seen since yesterday.”
Thea gripped the edge of her shirt, crumpling the neat cloth. No wonder Ace was in a bad mood—Cassandra’s life was in danger.
“Take Thea back to the city. I’ll settle that problem first.” After he instructed Red, he hurriedly walked away as if Thea wasn’t there.
She didn’t want him to leave. She wanted him to stay with her, but she couldn’t do anything other than stare at his back until it vanished into the sea of military uniforms.
“Was she important?” Thea thought. “Was she more significant than me? Oh, yes! I remember. I'm just part of his experiment.”
