Chapter 45
Johana Morin POV
It's been two weeks since she left and I'm glad I'm able to survive those days without her. I'm really thankful for my friends, Jia and Ella—they're always here for me even if I told them I'm fine.
And if I did survive those weeks without Bea by my side, what more for two years? I know, we'll keep holding on. I won't stop waiting for her and at the same time, I'll keep myself busy to make my girlfriend proud and for me not to notice the time.
So what Bea and I did for those weeks was to always check up on each other. We try to update each other on what happened on our day. We also do video calls and chats. We wouldn't not miss a day without calling each other and I admit, I really missed her. But I know, I will get used to this set up as days go by.
I have learned a lot about long distance relationships even for this short period of time. I have learned that even though it's hard, even though it is a struggle to be away from someone you love, just the thought of someone choosing to love you despite the distance you have is already a great thing about it. It is already a blessing.
The only thing that's easy for me and Bea is that we're both appreciative and understanding towards each other. We appreciate little efforts. We don't need to exert so much effort just to make each other happy so it is not tiring for us to love from afar. I think those things about us makes this relationship a little easy for us.
I love the part where we always make sure that we make everything work together.
"Good morning there, Baby." She greeted me when our video call started.
"Good evening, Bub. You just got home?" I asked.
"Yep, school and work is quite tiring but I can manage. Anyway, why aren't you preparing for your training today?" She asked and I let her see Ella and Jia still sleeping.
"Oh... So the training is cancelled that's why you girls are still resting on your bed?" She said while laughing.
I nodded. Ever since Bea left, Jia and Ella became my roommates they requested it to Aisa, our team captain.
"Yep. Exactly, Bub."
"So why don't you sleep again?"
"Nah, it's alright. I've had enough sleep and I wanted to talk to you before you rest because I will be busy later for my three major classes."
"Oh... that's why. Okay, baby. Just don't forget to eat on time later okay? Rest if you're tired. If you need something just let me know, okay? Just call me even if I'm sleeping."
"No baby, don't worry about me here. Just focus on yourself and rest. Have you eaten your dinner?"
"Later baby. I missed you." She said sweetly and smiled at me.
I smiled too. "I miss you so much, Bea."
We just continue talking to each other. Bea would tell me what happened in her day, in their family's company and all. And I'm just listening to her while staring at her face. I missed her so much. I missed being with her physically. I missed her hugs, her kisses... everything.
And each time I miss her like this, I would just hug my pillow with her jersey shirt on it... imagining it's her that I'm hugging.
Since it is just a normal day, we ended the call when I'm about to prepare for my class, so she can rest since she was tired from school and work.
"Jo, let's eat lunch together later." Said Jianna while combing her hair.
"I don't think I'm able to join you. I have three majors today and I'm taking one during lunch time."
"So it will be just the two of us?" Ella asked.
I nodded. "Okay, but we'll eat dinner together, huh?" Jia said.
"Sure!"
**
My three major classes went smooth but very tiring. I decided to eat my late lunch alone because my friends are still in their classes. I was so hungry that I focused eating and wasn't able to answer Bea's call.
I just leave her a message and told her how much I love her. After that, I decided to take some rest and prepare for our afternoon training.
I checked my phone again and there were voice messages from Bea that I haven't listened to awhile ago because I was in the class.
So I played them one by one,
"I love you baby. I know you're busy but I just miss you."
"I miss you so much my beautiful baby. Please eat lunch on time."
"Take care of yourself, okay? I love you very much."
"It's already late but I couldn't sleep. I miss your face, your voice, your skin... Wait, let me just sing for you."
She send me those voice messages and video of her singing 'All of the stars' by Ed Sheeran that made me fall in love with her even more.
I didn't notice that my tears are falling so I immediately wiped them off.
"I love you, Bea... Please go home already." I whispered to myself while watching her video.
Even if I tell myself it's okay and I'm alright... it's still hard not to cry whenever I'm missing her. But I know that it's part of the process...
Being in a long distance relationship will never be easy but it will surely be worth it in the end. Because distance is nothing when you truly love each other.
