Chapter 38
Seven years later…
~ Seth ~
“Boss, your father called and asked you to come home” I looked at my secretary and nodded at him as I grabbed my coat and left the office. How many years since I last visited them? Three years? Or four years?
I chuckled because I couldn’t even remember. I really don’t want to go to that house which was filled with memories. But I have hurt my own parents enough without visiting them. They really didn’t have to send her away for years.
It’s been fucking seven years but yet she’s not here and I don’t even know where she lives in the france. Forcing my thoughts back I got into the car and drove to the home once I lived so happily. While I was driving, I grabbed one cigarette from the pack and took my lighter out as I lit it and placed it between my lips.
I have never smoked when she was with me but I fucking needed something to release my pain of losing her. Taking a puff of the cigarette I sighed and sped the car wanting to visit them after a long time.
Entering the courtyard, I looked at the house for a while. I finished the cigarette and got off the car as I saw mom was walking out of the house looking at me with tear filled eyes. Taking a deep breath, I walked towards her.
“You’re home..” she spoke with her broken voice and hugged me. I forcefully smiled at her and hugged her back. Then suddenly she looked at me and frowned.
“Did you smoke?” mom asked me. I waited for a while and smiled as I nodded at her and entered the house. Doesn’t she know that I’m smoking? What the hell?
“Seth, why are you like this?” I stopped and looked back at my mom who was looking at me with both broken and tear filled eyes. Why am I like this? Didn’t I ask them to at least let me talk to her or call her only for one time?
“Mom, it’s normal. Everyone smokes. Just don’t mind me” I simply said as I walked into the house and sat on the sofa. Subconsciously, I looked upstairs and my heart tightened. I still remember the way she looked at me from there.
“Seth, is it true that you declined a project worth a hundred million dollars?” Taking another deep breath, I looked at my dad who just came to my vision with a frown on his face.
“No, it will only disadvantage us. That’s why I declined it.” I simply said as he came and sat beside me.
“Alright, stay here tonight” Dad said. I didn’t reply to him, I just lowered my head and waited for a while. Do I have to stay here? If I stay here there won’t be a peaceful sleep for me.
“Okay..” I replied to him as I got up from the sofa and walked towards my room. I just entered the room and closed the door behind me. Looking at my old room, I chuckled and sat on the bed as I laid on it.
I sighed and looked at the table in my room as memories surged into my mind. I still remember the way she was sitting on that tabel while looking at me sleeping. As soon as I opened my eyes she jumped onto my body.
I fucking miss her, even if I waited I know that there won’t be a future for us anymore. It really hurts to see the same place but without the person I used to stay there. I got up from the bed and walked into the washroom, then taking off my clothes I took a shower and walked out of it.
Grabbing sweatpants and a t-shirt, I wore it. Then I walked out of my room and went upstairs as I stopped in front of her room. Raising my arm, I placed it on the doorknob, my hand was trembling. Calming down my mind, I just entered her room as I closed the door behind me.
I clenched my jaws, seeing her room without her. Seven fucking years had passed but she’s not here yet and I didn’t see her for seven years. Sometimes I wondered if my parents really loved her, because they never visited her. I kept someone to follow them but they never went to France even for once.
“Seth, dinner is ready” I turned my head and looked at my mom who was looking at me with a hurt expression. There was no surprise in her eyes to see me in Seyah’s room. My eyes turned moist remembering that she was living alone somewhere so far away from her family.
“Where is she?” I asked my mom. Then she watched me for a while and shook her head as I expected. I knew she wouldn't tell me anything about Seyah.
“She’s not coming back, Seth, just forget about her and move on. You guys are sister and brother” hearing my mom’s words made my blood boil from anger. How the fuck can she tell that Seyah is not coming back?
“Why did you do this to us? Seven years had passed but look at me still fucking suffering for what you have done when we were just fucking teenagers. You know that I want her back mom, just fucking stop hiding her from me”
Fury took over me as I shouted at her, she watched me with horror filled eyes and covered her face with her palms. I know that the way I talked to my mom was really heartless but that doesn’t matter, all I want is the girl I loved.
“Just come and have dinner” ignoring all my shouts, she just walked away wiping the tears in her eyes. I watched her leaving and clenched my fists with anger. I was just fucking angry with my own parents and that’s why I fucking left this goddamn house.
