Chapter 28 Chapter Twenty-Eight
Chapter 28 Chapter Twenty-Eight
Brad laughs and I can't help but laugh too. "I can arrange that babygirl."
I shake my head and laugh. "I know you can. Maybe later though."
Brad kisses me. "Okay baby."
The closer to dinner we get the more nervous I start feeling. I don't know why I'm feeling nervous. I don't think anyone has been watching us or anything like that. I think it was just us being tired, and paranoid.
I'm ready to get out of this apartment even if it was just to go get dinner with Brad. Dinner and dancing though? I'm excited and maybe anxious because there's only one club in this city. The one club that just happens to be owned by Mateo.
Mateo the guy that's been haunting my dreams. The guy that stays on my mind way more than I want to admit. Maybe I will get lucky and he won't be there tonight. Then I can just enjoy my night with Brad.
Around six me and Brad get ready to go. I wear a pair of tight skinny jeans and a black lacey top with a cropped tank top under it. I slip on a pair of heels, straighten my hair and put on some makeup. I hope this looks okay. I haven't dressed up in like two weeks so I don't even know what jeans are supposed to feel like anymore.
"Oh damn, you look good."
Brad turns and winks at me. "Glad you think so baby. I have to actually try, so I can look even half as good as you."
Laughing I do a little spin for him. "I hope I look okay. I feel like I haven't dressed up in forever."
Brad walks over and kisses my cheek. "You look beautiful baby."
"Thank you. You look really good."
"Thank you babygirl. Are you ready to go get some dinner?" He asks, pulling me in close to him.
I smile up at him. "Yes I am." I give him a quick kiss, and he takes my hand in his, leading me towards the door.
"Let's go baby."
This time when we leave, I make sure the door is locked. I don't want to go through that again. Brad drives, taking us to some super fancy restaurant he saw an ad for. I guess it's supposed to be some new Italian style restaurant, and I do love Italian food.
When we arrive at the restaurant, Brad insists on doing the whole perfect gentlemen first date type thing. He opened my door for me, pulled my chair out for me, he even ordered a bottle of wine, and he really isn’t a very big fan of wine.
The food was honestly some of the best food I have eaten in a very long time. I could tell it was authentic Italian food, probably made by someone who has been cooking these types of dishes for a very long time, like someone’s mom or grandma. We left a very good tip for the waitress. She was maybe sixteen years old and just as sweet as can be. When she saw the tip, she hugged the two of us, thanking us over and over.
It made me feel good to know that we made someone that happy. Sometimes it feels like there isn’t much kindness in the world. So, I try to be nice as often as I can. Brad opens the car door for me when we make our way out to the parking lot, he even leaned down and buckled me up. If it wasn’t so damn sweet, I would have laughed.
“You ready to go dancing baby?” He asks when he gets in the driver’s side.
I nod my head smiling. “Yes please. I need to dance off some of this food. I feel like I ate a house.”
Brad laughs. “Let’s go baby.”
We pull out of the restaurant parking lot and about ten to fifteen minutes later we are at the club. It is super busy already. Men, and women filing into the large building all dressed up, looking like they are ready to have the time of their lives. That’s what I hope to do tonight. I hope to forget everything and have the time of my life. Dancing, and having fun with Brad.
We park pretty far away from the building, but I don’t mind the walk. It gives me time to mentally prepare myself for the crowd of people. After spending so much time alone with Brad in the apartment, just the two of us, it’s kind of hard to get used to being around this many people again.
Tonight is about having fun. Releasing some stress and forgetting everything that’s happened at least for a little while. Brad opens my car door for me and we link arms, making our way to the entrance. The bouncer smiles at us when we walk past and I wonder if he remembers seeing us before, or if everyone just kind of blurs together after a while.
The music is blaring through the speakers, bass hitting hard with each beat. Everyone is drinking, dancing or just watching other people dance from the tables surrounding the dance floor. The club isn’t as full as it was last time, but it’s still a little early. I’m sure here in just a little bit there will be so many people here you won’t even be able to find a table or walk without bumping into someone.
“Do you want a drink?” Brad asks.
I shake my head; I had quite a bit of wine at the restaurant I don’t want to over do it. “No thank you. I am fine for now. We can get you one though if you’d like.”
Brad laughs, shaking his head. “I’m already pretty buzzed. Anymore alcohol right now and you might be picking me up off the dance floor.”
I can’t help but laugh. Neither one of us is really big drinkers, especially not since everything happened. We like to stay alert and clear-minded. We just watch everyone for a few minutes, and then one of my favorite songs comes on and I take Brad’s hand in mine, dragging him onto the dance floor.
“I freaking love this song. Come on Brad. Let’s dance.” I shout over the music, pulling him to the center of the dance floor.
Brad laughs, letting me drag him onto the dance floor. I turn around smiling at him. My hands extend in the air, moving freely. My hips move on their own, following the beat of the music and Brad smiles, watching me.
“You look beautiful when you dance baby.”
I smile, feeling myself blush a little. “Thank you. Now dance with me.”
Brad rolls his eyes, chuckling. “Fine.”
He turns around facing away from me and shakes his ass at me, making me laugh. I slap his ass hard and he turns around red faced, laughing. Brad puts his hands on my hips, and I wrap my arms around his neck, swaying my hips to the music. We sway, spin, shake our asses and laugh so hard I think I might pass out.
A few songs in we are still dancing and having fun. Brad’s eyes go wide for a second before looking down at me and I feel a slight rush of panic. “What is it? What’s wrong?” I ask.
Brad shakes his head. “Nothing baby. Mateo is here and he is watching you.”
