Chapter 149

Chapter 149
Sienna's pov

Stopping him might be pointless, but I just couldn't let him go.

At least he didn't protect another woman right in front of me, even if it was just for show.

Even if he had made it clear he had no feelings for her, with so much unresolved tension between us, couldn't he... have considered my feelings when he was with me?

You owed me, Harrison !

"Harrison , I forbid you to interfere, do you hear me?"

I repeated softly—as if warning, as if pleading—trying to hold on to my last shred of dignity.

Harrison looked at me with cold, impatient eyes.

He raised the arm I was gripping tightly, his voice devoid of any warmth.

"Let go."

He understood what I was saying, but he still chose Kaia.

But my request wasn't unreasonable.

"All I ask is for you not to interfere. Can't you even do that?" I glared at him, my right hand losing all its strength. "After a few days apart, is this the answer you give me?"

Harrison reached out with his other hand, pried my hand off his arm, and walked past me towards Kaia.

He was still so ruthless, without hesitation.

But there was a slight difference this time.

As he brushed past me, he whispered, "Leave now."

For Harrison to say that to me at this moment was already a significant change.

He was urging me to leave, not to get involved. Maybe my presence would only make him hesitate, make him act irrationally.

From his perspective, I knew what he should do.

But what about me?

I suddenly woke up, turned around, and chased after him, but not to stop Harrison .

"Luna, let it go. Let's go."

It seemed like a long time since I had said those words.

In the past, when Harrison ignored me, I didn't mind. I thought time would warm his heart, would vindicate me, and he would eventually see my worth.

Back then, saying "let it go" meant I didn't mind.

"Sienna , I've tolerated Alexander for a long time. She provoked me on purpose, I..."

Luna was much stronger than me, and it took a lot of effort to stop her.

"Let it go, Luna. Will hitting her make you feel better?"

Obviously not.

The root of the problem was Alexander; Kaia was nothing.

"I get what you're saying, but she's so infuriating, always hitting where it hurts. Isn't she asking for it?"

Luna panted heavily, her eyes like daggers aimed at Kaia.

I looked over with her.

Kaia was clinging to Harrison ’s arm, her body tense and alert like a startled animal in the woods.

She seemed to be searching for comfort, yet she couldn't hide the distress in her gaze. Her eyes were bright with fear, but there was also a dark layer of guilt that she couldn't quite mask.

Harrison just held her, his expression feigning concern, but there was a little genuine emotion.

All fake.

I knew he didn't love Kaia, but that didn't make me proud.

I wasn't any better off than she was.

"Luna, let's go. I'll stay at your place tonight."

After much indecision, I finally made up my mind. I pulled Luna and turned to leave, ignoring the two actors behind us.

It was too exhausting to be with you, Harrison .

In Luna's car, I was still worried about her condition.

"Let me drive. You rest."

Luna shook her head, glancing at me with a mock suspicious look. "Come on, how long has it been since you drove? Just because you're upset doesn't mean you can't drive."

At Luna's house, I belatedly asked, "Did Alexander stay at your place for a while before?"

"That was ages ago. He left a long time ago. I only got back to the country less than a month ago. He's got a fiancée now; he wouldn't stay here."

The villa was spotless, with hardly anything on the tables.

"And you? Sienna , after everything that happened, are you still hesitating?"

I shook my head and smiled faintly. "There's nothing to hesitate about, but you go first. I'll leave when the time is right."

Luna still frowned. "The right time? Why not just get a divorce?"

"No, you filed for divorce before, but it didn't go through. Another divorce won't be easy."

I had already considered that.

"He won't agree to a divorce, and I don't want to go through that again."

Given how things had developed, with nothing holding me back, why bother with a formal divorce?

"So what's your plan? If you don't divorce, your name will always be on the marriage certificate."

I spoke up, "Let him think I'm dead, won't that work?"

Luna's mouth dropped open, and it took her a while to process what I was saying.

"You want to fake your death?"

I didn't deny it. "Maybe just disappear? As long as I can escape. But if I don't want him to track my identity, I might really have to fake my death."

Luna was almost too shocked to speak.

"You... have you thought this through, Sienna ? If you die, all traces of your existence will be erased. After that... you might not be you anymore."

But I didn't see it that way.

"Change my nationality, change my name, how does that make me not me? But Luna, I might need your help when the time comes."

I had no concrete plan for how to escape yet.

I might need to seek help from certain people.

Like... Julian.

I didn't think I was that close to the Moretti Family, but making a deal with Julian seemed feasible.

Luna didn't try to persuade me further.

"Just remember, if you need my help, don't keep it from me."

We chatted while finishing the leftover food, and Luna insisted I sleep in the same bed with her that night.

Lying down, I listened to Luna talk while scrolling through my phone.

Besides receiving a message from Harrison explaining himself, I also got a few friend requests.

They were from the Moretti Family.

"The Moretti Family is quite mysterious. Maybe they can help you?"

Luna glanced at my phone screen as she spoke.

"Seeing Harrison makes me angry. Are you still planning to keep him on your list?"

I skimmed through his message, feeling nothing.

"It doesn't matter. We still need to communicate sometimes."

After thinking for a moment, I pulled up Harrison 's profile countless times.

Finally, I clicked to delete him as a friend and blocked his number.

"Hopefully, this will be the end."

I could finally leave Harrison behind.

After accepting the friend requests from the Moretti Family, Dash was quick to contact me.

[Mrs. Blackwood, we only go home once a week. Why did you leave? You're not going back to Harrison , right?]

Then, Elias's message followed.

[Lark said you're not coming back tonight? Where are you staying? Let me know so I have peace of mind.]

[Staying at a friend's place, not going back to Blackwood Estate, don't worry.]

I explained to both of them, and while Elias didn't ask much, Dash was annoyingly persistent.

[Which friend? Male or female?]
