Chapter 121

Chapter 121
Sienna's pov

I wanted to turn around, but Harrison held my head down.

"Ignore him," he said, his hand trembling.

Even if I lost my memory and didn't remember Julian, was he still scared?

"Interesting, Mr. Blackwood didn't divorce Sienna . I thought after you pinned the blame on her, you'd cut ties," Julian's voice grew clearer as he approached. "Why bother, Mr. Blackwood? Isn't it better to love just one person? Since you chose to cover for Elena, you should accept the worst outcome. Sienna will never forgive you."

Cover for Elena? What did that mean? Could Harrison have been the one responsible for me winding up in jail?

He didn't seem like someone who would frame me.

"Mr. Vane, are you really going to interfere in our marriage?" Harrison sneered. "I warn you, back off. Don't think I don't know what you've been doing behind the scenes."

"And what can you do about it? You can't stop me from doing whatever I want," Julian's tone was almost taunting. "You want too much, so you can't let go of anything. I want to see what's more important to you, the Blackwood Group or your woman." Harrison 's hand kept my head down, preventing me from turning around.

I had some idea of what Julian wanted. He hated the Blackwood family and Harrison .

As long as he wanted to go after Harrison , he would keep approaching me.

"Get lost."

Harrison 's cold voice came from above. "Don't get too happy too soon."

Julian let out a light laugh.

"Sienna , it's okay if you don't remember me. We can get to know each other again. I'm Julian, your admirer. We even worked on a project together. I'll find you to discuss it further when I get the chance."

His provocations were always so blatant.

I suddenly remembered every time Julian taunted Harrison using me as a weapon. Every time we got home, Harrison would mock me coldly.

Julian said he liked me, but did he ever consider how Harrison would treat me when we got home after he said those things?

"Ignore him, let's go." I shrank into Harrison 's chest and whispered so only he could hear, "I don't like him."

This clearly pleased Harrison .

He chuckled softly and picked me up. "Let's leave."

I found a comfortable position in his arms, closed my eyes, and ignored Julian.

Since I had lost my memory, I would pretend our past interactions didn't exist.

I didn't want to deal with him for now.

I didn't hear Julian's voice again. Harrison carried me across the street, and I tightened my grip around his neck, wanting to get down.

"I can walk on my own. We were just out for a walk, and you can't carry me the whole time."

Harrison didn't refuse, but he still supported my back.

"The city square is just ahead. There's a fountain at night. Want to sit there for a while?"

I looked directly at a café near the mall entrance.

The city square had several names, but everyone knew this area when you mentioned it.

"Let's sit in the café. I want a drink."

Jess should have still been working here.

I didn't want to investigate if he had a hand in that matter. After all, we were just slightly closer strangers.

Walking into the café, I glanced at the counter. Jess was gone, either on break or had quit.

I ordered a matcha latte, while Harrison went for an iced coffee.

"Coffee at this hour? Won't you be up all night?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

It was not unusual for a CEO to drink coffee late, especially after a run-in with Julian. He probably had a lot on his plate tonight.

I did too.

"It won't affect me," he replied, sitting across from me and holding my hands tightly. "Don't you have any questions about what he said?"

Harrison 's expression was calm, showing no signs of tension.

I furrowed my brows, pretending to think deeply. "Is what he said believable?"

Of course, I had questions, but asking them directly seemed too deliberate.

Better to see Harrison 's attitude.

"What do you think?" He seemed to be probing. "Do you think he's telling the truth or lying?"

I didn't understand Harrison 's purpose in asking me this.

He could just tell me the truth.

If he was testing even the amnesiac me, I didn't see the point in continuing with him.

"You can't fully trust either of you," I said calmly. "To me, you're both new acquaintances. Where's the trust?"

My honesty was always hurtful.

But Harrison not being truthful hurt me more.

Harrison 's grip on my hands loosened slightly. I didn't pull away, pondering. "But from what he said, did you let me take the fall to help Elena? Is that what he meant?"

Once such a question was asked, it broke the facade, and even the surface calm couldn't be maintained.

I hoped Harrison wouldn't lie and would explain clearly. Then I could convince myself not to hold a grudge.

Did the heir of the Blackwood family not have the courage to admit this?

"I'm not saying I don't trust you, but I hope you can explain clearly," I added. "From what he said, you had the ability to get me out, even avoid these two months in jail, but you didn't. Is that right?"

"Yes."

Harrison admitted quickly. "If it's just about getting you out, I could have done it. But considering everything, I had to think about the Blackwood family."

I remembered our last meeting before I went to jail.

He explained why he wanted me to plead guilty and promised to get me out in two months.

I just couldn't accept it.

Even now, it was hard to accept.

"What crime did I commit? Can you tell me everything? It's better than hearing it from someone else."

I took a big gulp of my matcha latte, the warm liquid flowing down my throat, warming my chest.

But my heart was still cold.

"It sounds like you made me suffer for a while. Is this what you call love?"

Whenever it involved the Blackwood family and work, Harrison always answered confidently, as if he had no regrets.

"But... I had no choice. My position means I have to be responsible for the Blackwood Group. It's my fault for making you suffer, so I'm sorry, but I can only apologize to you."

Harrison suddenly tightened his grip, making my fingertips hurt.

He feared losing me, but when faced with a tough choice, he would still choose to make me suffer, to hurt me.

Even without Elena, my ending with Harrison wouldn't be good.

"So what crime did I commit? Tell me."

I didn't pull my hand away, my voice eerily calm. "I don't feel much because I have no memory, but can you be decisive and admit what you did? Is it that hard?"
