Chapter 119

Chapter 119
Sienna's pov

From Elena to Kaia... Jesus, how many women did Harrison need around him?

He had made promises, so what did all this mean now?

"Mrs. Blackwood? Are you okay? Feeling unwell?" Kaia waved her hand in front of my face. "Should I check you again? Maybe I missed something."

I shoved her hand aside and spoke coldly. "Martha, take Kaia back."

"What? But Mr. Blackwood said..."

Martha glanced at me and fell silent, like I looked scary.

But I didn't care anymore, at least not in front of Kaia.

"Mrs. Blackwood, did I do something wrong?" Kaia seemed slightly surprised but didn't show any sign of being upset. "I can change whatever you don't like. Mr. Blackwood..."

"It's nothing. You can go. He won't blame you." I responded bluntly, avoiding further drama with Kaia.

But before she turned around, she gave me a meaningful look.

That look seemed to see through everything about me, I was terrified.

After everything I'd been through, I still couldn't live a peaceful life.

Why wouldn't they leave me alone?

Martha escorted Kaia out and then came to me. "Mrs. Blackwood, do you think she likes Mr. Blackwood?"

I stared up. "Was I that obvious?"

"Not hard to guess." Martha looked helpless. "It's good that Mr. Blackwood hired a family doctor, but why did he choose a woman? Isn't Mr. Grant also a doctor?"

Yeah... Not just Alexander, but Eleanor too. There were so many people at the research institute, how did it end up being someone like Kaia, whom I'd never heard of before?

Even Martha understands this, so how could Harrison not?

Yet he still brought her into our home, just because I lost my memory?

But I couldn't question him about it.

"Mr. Grant?" I pretended to be confused. "Who is that?"

Martha hesitated, sadness in her eyes. "He's Mr. Blackwood's friend. Some things are better explained by Mr. Blackwood himself."

She seemed to want to do something for me, but her position limited what she could do.

I nodded and didn't ask further.

"Martha, can I go out?"

Regal City held too many bad memories, but I still wanted to go out and saw it.

It was better than staying at Blackwood Estate, which suffocated me.

"Well... Mr. Blackwood hasn't forbidden it, but I need to ask."

I quickly grabbed Martha's hand. "Don't tell Harrison . Let's sneak out and come back quickly. He won't know."

Harrison would never let me go out unless he was with me.

Martha hesitated, her eyes wide."I think we should inform Mr. Blackwood."

"Martha! Let's go!"

It seemed that whether before or after my memory loss, my actions had always been restricted by Harrison .

Why? I wasn't a child anymore, nor was I his possession.

Martha was half-pushed and half-pulled by me as we ran out of the villa.

We didn't take a car, just walked along the road outside the villa. I looked around, as if I was curious about the world.

"Mrs. Blackwood, let's not go too far. It's almost noon, and we need to eat on time."

Martha seemed reluctant to let me go too far.

The more she didn't want me to go far, the more I wanted to get away from Blackwood Estate.

What was so good about a golden cage?

Maybe I hadn't walked this far in a while, and I was already out of breath after a short walk.

Martha kept urging me to go back. "Mrs. Blackwood, it's been half an hour. Let's head back."

I crouched down.

"Martha, call a car for me," I panted. "I don't want to go back yet. Are you going to force me too?"

Force me to accept Harrison 's arrangements, even if they're unreasonable.

"I'm not trying to force you, just ensuring your safety."

Damn it, without a phone, I really had to rely on Martha for now.

I slowly stood up. "Don't worry, I'll protect myself. I hope you can let me go out more."

"Since this is the city I live in, don't you want me to learn more about it?"

Martha didn't agree.

"Mrs. Blackwood, I understand you, but I'm just a servant. If Mr. Blackwood doesn't allow it, I can't do it."

At that moment, I felt despair again.

Because I understand Martha, I don't know how to gain more freedom.

Back at Blackwood Estate, Martha immediately prepared lunch, while I locked myself in the bedroom.

But there was nothing in the room, what could I do?

I could only lie down and pass the time.

Harrison woke me up.

The window was still too bright, clearly not yet afternoon.

He sat by the bed, looking at me with concern. "Get up and have lunch first."

I rubbed my eyes. "Why are you back? It's not time to get off work yet, right?"

Judging by the light, it was only around three or four o'clock in the afternoon.

"Martha called and told me you wanted to go out, so I came back."

Harrison gently wiped under my eyes with his thumb, showing deep affection. "Next time, just tell me directly if you want to do something."

It seemed like he really cared about me, not like he was pretending.

I opened my arms to him, and Harrison hugged me tightly.

"Did I have a phone and computer before? If not, can you get me a set?" I whispered in his ear. "Also, I don't like Kaia. Can you get me a different doctor?"

Harrison held me tighter.silent for a moment. "Kaia is an expert in psychiatry. Your memory loss might bring a series of complications. She can take good care of you."

"But I just don't like her!" I immediately tried to push him away. "Are you defending her?"

"Sienna ! This isn't about defending her, it's about your health!"

I couldn't push Harrison away; he was too strong, and I could barely breathe.

Harrison didn't seem indifferent to me, but his reasons made no sense to me.

"There are plenty of experts in psychiatry. Why do you have to choose a doctor I don't like?"

I said softly, showing a hurt expression. "Do you like her?"

Before Harrison could explain, I acted as if I had a sudden realization. "I get it. I lost my memory, so in your eyes, I'm just a burden. In two months, you found someone new, so out of responsibility, you had to bring me home. But you don't love me anymore, right?"

If I had said this before losing my memory, Harrison would have mocked me repeatedly.

But now, I only saw pain and uncontrollable love in his eyes.

"I know you don't believe me now, but the only person I've ever loved is you."

If only I had truly forgotten about the past.

Love and hate tore at my heart, making me tremble all over, unable to say a word.
