Chap.112*He Is Dangerous*
"Are you sure you don't want to tag along?" Desmond was all set to walk out of the house with the stroller when he asked me again. We haven't spoken a lot the entire day but he did apologize for his behavior.
"No! I'm fine," I uttered and he stayed with his head lowered. I know he was thinking about something, but so was I. My mind was filled with many questions, why didn’t he want me to talk to my sister? Why was he resisting it so bad that he raised his voice at me for the first time like that.
"I know you are still upset at me for yelling at you but trust me I didn't mean to." He sounded genuinely guilty but I have seen better actors than him so I don't know how sincere he was with his apology.
"It's not you raising your voice at me Desmond, it's you saying all those things to me," I muttered before looking away from him. I just wanted him to leave so that I could quickly get my sister's number from his phone.
"Okay then, we will be back in a minute." thankfully, the tension between us was so intense that he didn't think of taking his phone in case I needed his help.
He left with Roy and I rushed straight to go pick up his phone.
"Cierra!" I mumbled in my mouth, going through his phone list, "Found you," a smile crept over my lips at the mere sight of her name in his phone.
My mood changed when the call actually went through and not like how Desmond had said.
"Hello?" someone voiced from the other side and instantly knew it was Cierra.
"Cierra?" I almost broke down the moment I pronounced her name.
"Ayleen? Oh my God!" she sounded so damn happy and excited, but if this is how she truly felt about me then why did Desmond say that my sisters didn't want to keep in contact with me?
"Listen! I don't have time. I'm saving your number and will text you from my number, I'll speak to you soon." I feared the moment Desmond realizes that he had left his cellphone behind, he will come back to get it.
I hung up on her and saved her number in my phone and then wiped her number clean from his history.
He came back early, just like I've expected from him.
Now that I have found out that he lied to me about my sister's not wanting to stay in contact with me, my suspicions of him have raised high.
I kept my mouth shut and didn't speak about anything that could trigger him but I did intend to speak to my sister when he goes to the office in the morning.
"Oh My God! You have no idea how happy I'm for you, Ayleen." I've been talking to Cierra ever since Desmond left for the office. It was nice catching up with her, I also found out that she was pregnant and due very soon.
After we have finally caught up on our lives and what had been happening, we discussed the main topic.
"I tried calling so many times, he would always make excuses, and then when Garret threatened to come there with the cops, he sent his men here to scare him away." hearing my sister say so much about him worried me.
How did I not noticed that something was fishy about him? I mean, I had noticed but he always came up with a right excuse to shut me down.
"Ayleen! He is a dangerous man." the fear in my sister's voice let my skin be covered in goosebumps.
"You need to get out of that house and even save your baby," her voice was shaking me. She was scared and that has scared me as well.
"Cierra! but I love him." I voiced back but the fear had made its way inside my heart. I didn't know what else to say to her, how was I going to deal with all this now?
"But what about your safety? Your son's safety, Ayleen?" her question became my concern. She wasn't wrong, I can't be selfish, what if Desmond is even crazier than what is she telling me? "He is not a very nice man, he might seem like one but he is dangerous," she added.
That reminded me of the time when he told me that Ava was dangerous, so dangerous yet he didn't show her any discomfort. It was weird that he hyped me up against her but when it came to him, he was still nice to her even defending her.
And it all even makes sense, that's why Ava never admitted to doing anything, what if it was all Desmond since the beginning?
I mean, he did lie to me about Ava and then went ahead and kept his friendship or whatever twisted relationship they had.
"I don't know how to escape, where would I go?" I inquired from my sister, who it seemed had everything planned out already.
"You don't have to worry about anything. Give me the address, we will be here and then you can come with us but we have to do without Desmond knowing," she mumbled and then after a few minutes of discussion, I actually told her to wait for me on the road next to the woods.
I can't believe I was making a plan to run away from my own love, the man who had helped me and supported me more than anything.
"And Ayleen!" she uttered.
"Yes?" after we have decided everything, she still didn't want to end up the call.
"Garret wants you to be safe." she said in a very soft and calming tone, "He is sorry that you got into all this trouble because of him." her voice began to break, was she crying?
"He should have been careful, he shouldn't have picked this life for you." and soon she was sobbing very audibly.
She was not wrong.
He rushed!
Though I never said it aloud to her, I do blame Garret. I thought he would be careful about what happens to me, but he just didn't care. He was the main reason I ended up like this, he was the person who dragged me into this life.
What was he thinking? Was he even thinking anything?
He should have not picked this life for me.
"And that's why he wants to make things right." She said very determinedly, "he will free you from this cage." she promised.
