Thirty-eight

Isiaah Jacinto’s point of view

Life can really be a bitch sometimes — always rather. We can never predict what will happen next.

But I am the luckiest man alive.

Even though my life has not been good, I have a wonderful partner in life. A woman that is the bravest, the prettiest, kindest — my safest place.

I don’t know what kind of Isiaah Jacinto everyone would know if I didn’t know her. If it hadn’t happened that night, if I hadn’t seen her.

This may be so impossible — to find a woman who will accompany you in everything, in success, in failures, in breakdowns. . . in all the hardships of life.

A woman who is always there in the toughest day of my life.

Maeluthe Legson is my everything.

I don’t want to be cheesy, but it’s just so true, and I can’t help but fall in love with her more and more. . . everyday.

Seeing her waking up in the morning, brush her teeth, smile, take good care of herself and our child. That’s too much. I feel like I’m the Lord’s favorite.

For the past five months, we have also been going through various struggles, there are levels of difficulties, but we have all been able to overcome them.

Every day, I could see her in pain. She is struggling every day because of our pregnancy, and I have nothing else to do to ease it. So, I insisted on promising myself that I would do everything for the family as well.

If I could just take the pain, if I could take it, I would have done it.

She’s so precious that I can’t bear to see her hurting.

My parents were very okay with her. In the first days, she had to prove herself, especially to mommy, but that didn’t last long either. Now, the two of them often work together. My mom is taking good care of her as if she is her own child.

She deserves it. If I could, I would give the whole world to her.

Now, she’s eight months pregnant. All the ridiculous things I never expected to do in my whole life I have already done.

Dancing at the top of the table, singing a lullaby on the road, looking for a halo-halo at night, dyeing her hair pink, wearing layers of summer clothes, peeling her favorite mango inside the closet, all those weirdest thing, I did it all.

I thought that was just my contribution to our pregnancy. I would gladly do all that to make her happy anyway.

For me, the eighth month is the most critical part of Mae’s pregnancy because I almost get out of bed with so much nervousness every day.

We’ve been very caring for the past months, but we need to be more careful now. That was apart from the overwhelming symptoms Maeluthe was feeling.

She’s been experiencing leaky breasts, heartburn, shortness of breath, trouble sleeping, mood changes, and the discomfort due to her large stomach.

I also didn’t go to work because the woman was so sensitive. From time to time the pain, from time to time, she cries and I really feel sorry for her.

But then, she has been really amazing.

A lot of changes have happened to the woman but I only feel more and more for it. It was as if it is always the first time. Aside from physical changes, Maeluthe became really emotional and a little impatient, far from the real she is.

One time, she forced me to buy pads at a convenient store. I didn’t move because why would I buy those kinds of things, eh, she doesn’t have menstruation? I tried to talk to her, gently explaining the situation. Maybe I’m used to it and I’ve changed the way I talk to women like the woman instructed.

And she cried.

She cried and cried because she said I no longer followed her wishes, and she said I no longer loved her because I did not buy her a pad. She also told me that she wanted to break up with me because of that, it was really out of my control.

In the end, I went out to buy a napkin at the nearest store, which made her burst into tears again because I was gone for ten minutes and she was missing me like crazy.

I know. I know.

I’ve been through a lot as well.

But she’s that cute, isn’t she?

Today, I left Mae and my mom at home because they said they needed girls’ time. I don’t even understand, actually. But I need to pretend that it was clear to avoid trouble as well.

I left after a few instructions even though I didn’t know where to go.

Luckily, my friends called me that now Kairus is coming home from Switzerland because of an H&H event there.

My friend, Kairus.

Even he has been through a lot. Living without the girl of his dreams for two years, and he’s not sure if we’ll meet again.
