Thirty-nine

Isiaah Jacinto’s point of view

I knew that they love each other that much.

I also don’t have the habit of being curious, but I’m happy that he met another woman in another country even though she is married.

At least, we knew that his heart can still beat for someone else.

I quietly answered the call from Ashley, like my friends, she was also going to the airport to pick up her brother.

“Where are you? Brylle and I can still stand guard because we need someone to take care of H&H.”

“Baste and Andrei are close to the airport. We’ll see.”

During the flight, my phone kept vibrating because of a series of texts from Maeluthe. All are photos of her wearing different types of clothes.

I can’t help but to adore her more. She’s really beautiful.

Not long after we arrived at the airport, Kairus arrived as well. I knew that it wasn’t the Kairus we knew. Another Kairus came back to us. Its pale face and disheveled hair appeared.

“Kuya, what?! How are you? Are you alright? Why do you look so pale?” Ashley asked one question after another but Kairus didn’t even answer. Her eyes were so swollen that you thought she had just come from crying.

Rai, Kairus’ secretary, was confronted by the woman, “Did something happen?”

“I don’t know, Ma’am. When he returned to the hotel, he was already like that.”

Worried, Ashley turned her gaze back to the sister. She turn to the place of our three friends.

“Bro, how are you? When are we going back– “bBaste said to ease the situation, but Andrei, who was next to me just threw him a fist.

“What happened?” Andrei asked.

They were worried as I decided to stare at my friend. I know something happened in Switzerland and Kairus loves to tell us, but he can’t move his mouth.

I badly knew how disappointed he was. I can see that in the repeated tightening of the man’s jaws.

“Kai, what happened? Is it because of what you told us? Did you get caught–” Baste barked incessantly.

“What, Kuya? Caught you what?!”

They were already talking, one after the other, and loudly even though we were still at the airport and many people were listening.

I could see the friend’s next sigh before finally dropping the bomb that would stop us from being curious. “Eilythia is alive.”

It was as if an angel had passed in front of the seven of us, and we were also stunned for a few minutes. All I could hear were deep breaths.

Everything is still very chaotic, but Kairus insists that he go to his mother because Eilythia is alive, and she wants to be clear from everyone.

No one wants to believe.

Eilythia died in a warehouse fire in Taguig, and the police clearly confirmed that. So how does it all happen?

“We’ll drive you to your mother, bud.” In the end, I chose to believe the friend. We are his ally, we must be the first to believe and care for the friend.

“Sai, really now? Kai hasn’t been able to rest yet,” Ashley countered.

“That’s what your older brother wants, Ash. Give it to me first. We will take care of Tito. I will be held responsible,” Andrei said to me.

I saw my friend calm down. But the situation became more difficult to understand. Hard to believe. Horrible, excruciating. I am hurt as well for my friend.

When he left after talking to her mother, he want to go back to Switzerland again and we did nothing but follow and trust her more.

“Will you be okay? And as much as I want to come with you, you know I can’t leave Maeluthe now,” I explained.

“It’s okay, Sai. I’ll be right back. I will take her home too.”

Baste sighed, still can’t believe what he just found out. “I can’t believe it. She is alive. . .”

“Just tell us when you get there, ha. We will wait for you!” Andrei blurted, followed by a lot of reminders.

We laughed for a while, trying to comfort each other.

“Thank you.”

The lunatics shouted and started wiping away their tears.

“Seriously, Kai, I might fall for you.” Baste got a strong fight against Kairus so I had to be teased.

When Kairus left, the three of us, Andrei and Baste, fell silent. We are equally worried for the man, but still we support him, and his happiness.

“I have an appointment,” Baste said suddenly after a few minutes of silence.

“I have a patient waiting for me,” Andrei followed.

They looked at me at once and waited for something to say. The truth is, I didn’t walk after that. Maeluthe still doesn’t call, so I’m sure I can’t go home yet if I don’t want trouble.

“And I. . . I have nothing to–”

Speaking of my angel.

I let the friends wait in front and tenderly answered that call. “Hi, love-”

“What love? We don’t have endearment, do we? Maybe another woman is calling you like that? Ha!”

My expression changed when I heard that loud shout which caused my two friends to laugh.

“B-But, Mae, that’s what I call you. It’s been a few months–”

“So, what?” I almost shrank from the stand. I am still not accustomed to what the woman says. “Did I agree? No, I didn’t. That means we shouldn’t use that!”

I kept my mouth shut, just waiting for what Maeluthe would say next.

“Anyways,” the woman said softly. Just like that, after a minute, her mood is different. “I want you to buy me something.”

Andrei and Baste motioned to me that they had to go first because of their respective schedules. I nodded quickly.

“What’s that, Mae?” I said to the woman on the other line.

“I want you to buy me a vibrator,” the woman said without hesitation.

“What?!” I suddenly raised my voice when what Maeluthe said came to mind, causing my two friends who had already left to turn around.

“Why are you shouting?!”

I just got caught up in the sense, I massaged my head gently because I couldn’t believe it.

“Go! Buy me, Isai, please?” She even continued. “I want a vibrator.”

I sighed a few times, repeatedly calming myself down the most.

I love her, I love her so much.

“And I want it pink.”
