Chapter 126 I WILL NOT ALLOW IT
Chapter 126 I WILL NOT ALLOW IT
DANTE'S POV
I had announced loudly of how we would be doing a late study session on that day to try and lure the person out, so if it's not Alison, then who could it be?
Alison obviously took the study hall bait, but she wasn't the one that planted the cameras.
“Since you’re not the one I'm looking for,” I said. “Then you no longer have any use for me.”
When she starts sobbing again, I cut through it with a nonsense tone, and a final warning.
“If even one new rumor about Micah comes out – from anywhere!– I will leak to the entire world, with the full extent of my wealth just how you were nothing but a glorified escort my father paid to spy on me.”
“...”
“I have all of the bank records between you and my father. Messages sent between the both of you, hotel surveillance cameras footage of the both of you spending time together, so stop sickening me by mentioning how much you claim to love me.”
“The entire world will find out just who you truly are, nothing but a whore for going after both father and son, and how you sold yourself. Your reputation, future, and everything you care about will instantly disappear.”
“You– You said you forgave me!” she cried out. “I truly regret everything now, I still love you, Dante! Please–”
“And I love Micah.” The words came out steady without me flinching or even thinking about them.
Huh, I guess I have always subconsciously been in love with Micah. And it's truly exhilarating to admit it to someone, even though the person is an absolute menace.
“And after seeing how far you were willing to go all in the name of being in love with me, I can understand you to an extent. But in the same sense, you'll understand just how crazy I will be for him.”
“Dante you're lying–”
“Trust me, I won't lie because of you. And. You don't want to be the first to discover just how far I'll go, and every resource I won't mind burning up just to protect him.”
“I let things go on for too long because there was also your side to our story, but it ends here and now. I have no more involvement with you, and you don't want me to be involved in cleaning up any mess you'll make. Continue with your cheer squad, and go find another athlete to be with.”
I cut in her next sobbing frenzy with a very stern warning.
I ended the call after that.
Now here I am, back to pacing up and down in the suite, waiting for Micah to come back home so I'll tell him just how wrong he was, and how he doesn't need to be worried about Alison.
I did end up fixing it though, so he shouldn't have to worry about little and stupid things like this.
The living room feels entirely too large than it usually is, but I continue walking so I don't end up using the resources I have tracking Micah, to end up tracking him down.
He said he needed space, so that is what I'll do.
He's currently in a fragile and desperate headspace, so I need to get him out of there for now, before talking to him properly about the direction of our relationship moving forward.
I cannot be feeling threatened or having to be on the brink of a breakup just because of stupid people like Alison, or whoever it is that's bugged our house.
As for that person, I'll catch that person sooner or later.
When midnight finally comes, I try Micah’s number again.
When the automated voice from the line tells me the phone is switched off, a cold feeling starts dredging up my spine.
Micah… Micah has never been this late to the dorms.
He knows the dorms closes half past midnight, so why isn't he here yet?
I started scrolling through my contacts, just in case something was announced and I was too distracted to see it.
Something in me pushes me to check out the latest campus gossip, the same one run by Maddie, Tyler's girlfriend and a few others in the cheer squad.
The newest post is already at the top, and the timestamp on it is less than twenty minutes ago.
That's not what catches my eye in the post.
What catches my eyes in the post, is a clear photo of Micah and Savannah at a Five Guys, sitting across each other with Savannah’s fingers on Micah’s elbow.
Another one is a photo of Micah entering Savannah's car.
After waiting for the other photos to load, I see several grainy photos that look like they've been taken from a long distance, in what appears to be a… cabin?
The caption of the photo is ‘A Quiet Romance’.
And in the photo, the porch lights are switched on, it's a romantic cabin, and huddled together is the unmistakable figure of Micah and Savannah!
How… How could he?!
Did he… Was he trying to whitewash his image or something?
Why didn't he speak to me or anything?!
And if all people, Savannah? Everyone knows she has a major crush on him, so how could he…?!
Here I am, wrecking my brains on how to minimize the social impact of his rumors, and there he is, frolicking and playing house with Savannah!
And I've been worried sick about him, calling him for hours, yet here he is having picturesque moments with those happy two shoes Savannah!
I close my eyes with a loud exhale, to try and calm myself down.
Maybe… Maybe there is another reason for it.
Maybe the picture was just a paparazzi trying to make a quick buck?!
Or maybe Micah finally got tired of it all and wants to end things.
Maybe this is his way of announcing it to me instead of calling me.
No! He can't…!
He wouldn't, I will not allow it!
