Chapter 47

Katherine walked up to Luc with a smile on her face. "It's really an honor to meet you..., Luc. I'm Katherine. Katherine...Melrovia." Katherine introduced, extending her hand toward Luc.

Amelia smiled, still standing where she stood. He was wearing the black shirt and trousers she got in the market for him.

Luca gave Katherine a blank stare then his brow furrowed. "Melrovia..." He took a threatening step toward her which made her step back. "I know your betraying family." He smirked darkly and grabbed her throat, choking her.

Amelia gasped in surprise.

Katherine struggled as he lifted her, trying to say something but his hold on her neck was too tight.

Amelia ran up to them. "Finn, stop what you're doing. She's a friend. " Amelia rose her voice at him.

But Finn didn't give her a glance, his eyes were still fixated on Katherine. He wasn't seeing any need to keep any Melrovians alive.

"L...Luc." Katherine struggled to say, hoping Amelia gets it. It's not like she couldn't fight back but she wouldn't want Luc thinking she's the enemy like he does all thanks to her name.

Amelia was hyperventilating, staring at how high Katherine was lifted. She looked at Finn and walked up to him, taking the other of his hand. "Finn..." She shook her head. "No, Luc, please stop."

Luc snatched his hand away from her hold and as he was about to strangle her too, he stopped as his gaze met hers. Her gold shining eyes, her hair...it made him incline his head and dropped Katherine hard to the floor she started coughing desperately, holding her throat, her face completely pale as she gasped hard for air.

"Who are you?" Luc asked Amelia, facing her. Then he looked around the place. "And how did I get here? The last thing I remember, I was face to face with Logan." His eyes settled back down on her. "And you were there."

Amelia swallowed, her heart feeling uneasy and her impulses deadlocked as he glared down at her. "I..." Her voice trailed off in a plaintive whimper, then she cleared her throat, trying to think of what to say since he doesn't remember her. "I'm Amelia West." She introduced knowing it's for the best that things start that way.

"Amelia West." He uttered with lowered gaze, getting familiarity with the name but got nothing. He looked back at her. "What are you, then?"

Amelia shook her head. "Don't know."

Katherine stood up, rubbing her throat since she was feeling pain around it. She paused as she once again got his attention. She wouldn't deny the fact that she was scared.

Amelia walked toward Katherine and stood in front of her. "She's not a bad person, Fin...Luc. As a matter of fact, she helped us."

"Do what?" Luca asked with a frown on his face.

"When your people threw us out of the palace, she was the one who found us and help us. She gave us a place to stay." Amelia defended.

Luc looked at Katherine and then at Amelia. He was confused since he wonder how he even got trapped by Lisa and Logan. He wondered exactly what he did last. He knew he was going to do something. He knew he was busy looking for someone, and somehow, he felt he found that someone.

He just doesn't know who he's looking for, why he's looking for the person, and why he thinks he's looking for someone.

He also wondered how he ended up standing before two unknown people, especially a Melrovian.

His eyes darted left and right in deep thought and he sighed. "I should leave."

"No!" Amelia suddenly rose her voice, blocking his path. "You're not going anywhere."

All he could do was stare at her in amusement. "You think you can stop me? Or am I a...hostage here?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.

Amelia shook her head. "No. It's just...anything can happen and you're not going anywhere without me."

"Do you know who I am?" He queried, giving her a confused look.

"Okay. Where will you go to? You've got nowhere to go." Amelia countered.

Katherine looked at her. "He actually does. He's got his own allies if he remembers that though."

Luc squinted his eyes at Katherine. "You're a witch, I'm sure Ramona is still part of Lisa's coven so tell me, what did Lisa do to me?"

Katherine shook her head. "No idea. Although, what's obvious is Lisa seems to have given you a life without a task. You don't know what you want anymore and you can't get it."

Luc chuckled darkly. "I know what I want. My throne."

Katherine nodded. "But you can't get it since you don't know what to do to get it."

Luc blinked, finding that interesting. "And you know what I need to do?"

Katherine nodded. "Of course. You've been on that mission for a very long time, no one knows if you succeed or if she exists..." She paused and looked at Amelia. "Except she's the one, which means you found her."

"She's who what?" Luc questioned.

Katherine looked at him. "Your soulmate."

Luc laughed and shook his head. "Soulmate. That's stupid. Why would any goddess or god give the like of me a soulmate?"

Katherine shrugged. "Don't know but that's the case."

He let out a harsh breath. "I need liquor. Gotta leave." Then he walked away.

"Luc..." Amelia yelled wanting to run after him but Katherine stopped her from moving further.

"Let him go. He'll be back, believe me."

Amelia looked at her and rolled her eyes away in annoyance.

Logan and his father, Lance clanked their mugs together in a cheer, laughing at the success of their plans. They were darn happy they get to keep the throne.

"So, is there any assurance it's gonna last forever?" Lance questioned, dropping his mug on the round table separating him and his son.

Logan nodded. "According to Lisa, it'll be difficult knowing how stubborn Luc is. At first, when the prophecy came, he refused to believe it, in fact, no one did until great-grandfather found a way to use it for his own good, making the whole of Weredom believe he wasn't right to be king so he had no choice but to venture on the mission, leaving the throne for us to take over. Now that he's got no memories, it'll be hard to believe even knowing his mate is standing right in front of him. She also said anything that's gonna make him regain his memories, by that time, she could have something to kill him for good."

Lance nodded liking the statement. "Yeah. I'm not comfortable since he's walking around the city. There's gonna be someone who found and helps them. He's gonna cause a lot of trouble and bring fear to people's minds, especially our allies. I don't want what we did to come to bite us."

Logan nodded in agreement. "I understand, dad."

Logan's right hand (beta) walked toward them and bowed before straightening up. "There's news I just got."

Logan looked at him. "And what news, Jones?"

Jones blinked and sighed. "My brother Richard and more of Luc's allies are heading to Weredom."

Logan frowned since it was bad news. "What? How the hell did they know?"

Jones shook his head. "No idea, your highness."

"Then gather all the strongest warriors to block their path, bring them captive or kill them if they must," Logan ordered.

Jones swallowed and nodded. "I'll do just that."

Logan looked at his dad. "Just a setback, dad. It's nothing we can't deal with."

Lance nodded. "It better be."

Meredith, Logan's sister sighed and walked away from the fence she stood hiding before the perfume she used to mask her scent wear off.

It was surprising she didn't discover what has been happening.
