Chapter 46

Bethany opened the door of the canopy and some kids running around the area came to a halt. They looked at Beth and Beth returned the favor of staring back. It suddenly felt weird so she closed the door and walked toward everywhere who was already prepared to leave.

"Is everyone here all vampires?" She asked since she was curious.

They nodded. "Yep. Everyone." Julian answered her.

"Even the kids? I thought vampires don't breed." She stated without many thoughts.

They laughed at her while Xander nodded. "Yeah, I've seen those movies but we do. That's how they gave birth to us."

"Wow," Stephanie remarked. "So, those kids drink blood too?" She questioned with a frown of disgust on her face.

Jacob just rolled his eyes away. One thing he hates is too many questions.

"They don't. At a young age, they don't exhibit fangs but when they grow further, it starts to grow with excruciating pain, and then, there's that thirst for blood. It's a gradual process." Julian explained, remembering the time he changed. His mouth felt like it was going through a battle of its own."

Stephanie and Bethany nodded in understanding with their mouth gaped in an 'oh'.

"Julian won't be leaving," Jacob uttered causing all eyes to be on him.

"Why?" Richard asked confusingly.

"Cause I want him here."

Julian scoffed. "What do you want me here for?"

Jacob shrugged. "Many things. Besides you've been here and there and things are getting serious, I don't want you getting in the sharp end of a blade."

Julian rolled his eyes away in annoyance, blinking since he had nothing to say. Jacob doesn't normally stop him to do anything but then, truly, things are getting serious.

Richard nodded. "I guess I can understand your care for your brother..." He looked at Xander and the girls. "I guess it's just..." He lowered his gaze as something crossed his mind. "I'll want Stephanie to stay back too."

Bethany's eyelid drooped. "Why? Because you want to protect her too?"

"Why?" Stephanie asked.

Richard shook her head and looked at Macy. "She needs help. She's got some abilities she'll need help with."

Macy looked at Stephanie. "And what might that be?"

"She's not human, she's my mate..."

Macy gaped. "A werewolf or what?"

"I think a werewolf 'cause she's exhibiting the powers of one, it's just...it seems like her powers were blocked or something."

Stephanie stared at Richard with a small frown on her face as he gave the explanation, then she looked at Macy. "All I know is that I have a connection to Amelia that could be useful. I can feel her."

Macy was confused. "Wow. That's new."

Stephanie nodded. "Yeah."

"You're saying you both have a bond?" Macy questioned.

Stephanie nodded again. "Connected. If she's sad or in danger, I can feel it."

"So, that's how you guys knew to come here." Macy figured.

They all nodded.

Macy equally nodded. "Okay. She should stay."

Stephanie just sighed and looked at Richard, not liking the fact that she will be separating from him, that she won't be seeing Amelia, who knows how long or when they'll meet again.

"Okay, we have to begin the journey. We can't be seen since we're going close to the palace itself. Hopefully, we won't encounter any danger as we embark." Xander announced.

Julian nodded. "Yeah. You can never know when a werewolf attacks. They're stealthy. Always lurking around somewhere."

"Hopefully, they won't know we're heading to the main city. Hopefully." He said, since if they were able to find Finn and Amelia, then they could find them too.

"And I'm ready. Can't wait to put my chimera self into action." Bethany said with determination.

Xander just smiled at her. "Alright then, let's go."

Amelia rose her brow at Katherine as they sat on opposite sofas. "So, you're a witch." She stated still wondering about the possibilities of everything.

What if she's still on the bed back home, and this time she's venturing into a very long dream who knows, Finn could probably be thinking of different ways to wake her up.

Some make sense but some still don't.

Katherine sighed, peering at Amelia. "You don't seem to know anything about us."

Amelia shook her head. "Nothing. I know absolutely nothing."

Katherine tilted her head at Amelia, everything about her was enough to know the truth, then she sighed knowing things became worse, who knows how worse. "In the end, Luc found you but Lisa pulled one over him." She shook her head. "Don't know how long this will go on."

"What thing?" Amelia asked her. "And besides, your family seems rich, and amongst every houses, yours is one of the...better ones."

Katherine nodded. "It's because my grandmother is on Logan's side. She work with Lisa and they do whatever together. She's their ally."

"Oh." Amelia gaped. "And you're not?"

"I don't support my grams but I don't have a choice," Katherine answered truthfully.

Amelia looked around, getting the need to fear. "Okay. So, your grams, I don't see her anywhere and I don't think she's gonna put on a smiling face when she finds me and Finn here."

Katherine chuckled. "Relax. She doesn't stay here. She lives in the palace, she's a welcome guest there. She hardly comes here so it's just me. Don't fret."

Amelia let out a breath of relief and nodded. "Yeah. So, there are so many people like you guys here?"

"Here in this part of the city, yes, but werewolves rule this place. It's called the Weredom. When Luc became king, it became a containing different species. Anyone was welcome to serve him and honestly, he was a worthy king, ruthless to people who were disobedient but worthy still. When he left, things slowly changed, people were starved, taxes increased, and things went worse." Katherine explained.

Amelia raked her hand through her hair, feeling exhausted by everything. "This is all..."

They heard the creaking sound of a door and looked toward it. Amelia stood up in surprise as Finn staggered out.

He looked at Amelia and Katherine. "Who the hell are you guys?"
