Chapter 61 More evil than they know
Hazel gently sat up and held him close to her chest, hugging him as she patted his back.
“It's okay, you don't need to cry”.
She said, trying to console him.
The little boy cried for a while before he finally calmed down.
Hazel took him out of his playroom and back into his room, laying him on the bed.
“It's okay, mummy is right here”.
She said as she tried to calm him down by gently stroking his hair.
“Mummy”?
She heard him call after a very long time.
“Did I hurt you”?
He asked and Hazel smiled, wondering how she ended up with such a considerate child. He was still thinking about her even though he looked extremely scared.
She shook her head.
“Of course not, you don't know how strong mummy is, do you”?
She said with a smile but Lucian couldn't bring himself to smile.
Dona moved closer and looked at the boy.
“Lucian can I see what made you so scared”?
She asked but Hazel immediately looked at her and shook her head.
“You can't”.
She blurted out causing Dona to look at her with a brow raised.
“You already exerted yourself with the letters, I can't let you do this, at least not now”.
Dona siged with no form of smile on her face.
“What are you talking about? If I don't find out, it might keep hunting him or it might even get worse. We can't let that happen Hazel".
She said but Hazel wasn't sure her body could handle it especially since it was something they weren't sure of.
“Fine, but I'm coming too”.
She said and Dona nodded before looking back at Lucian.
Lucian looked at the both of them before he nodded.
Dona then held one of his hand and one of Hazel's. And Hazel also locked her hand with Lucian's.
All three of them closed their eyes and the last thing they heard was Dona speak.
“Galro est minsu”.
Which meant take us back to the beginning.
Suddenly, both Hazel and Dona were standing by the side while they saw Lucian in the middle of the room.
Hazel wanted to rush to him but Dona held her back.
“Don't worry, he isn't reliving it but interfering might ruin everything”.
She said and Hazel sighed before she nodded.
Soon, they saw a girl almost as tall as Lucian and definitely his age walk towards him.
They both looked at her with curiosity in their eyes, wondering who exactly she was.
“You must be Lucian".
She suddenly spoke with a beautiful yet scary smile plastered on her face.
“Who are you”?
He asked, not returning her smile.
“I can't tell you who I am yet, I just wanted to come over and see who was so important that I had to be locked up”.
She said and even the older ladies who were watching from a distance were confused at her words.
They noticed she tilted her head a little and looked right at them with a creepy smile.
“What… she can see us”?
Hazel asked and Dona looked surprised.
“That is not supposed to be possible”.
Dona said but soon, the little girl turned back to Lucian and spoke.
“Your mom, your dad, and everyone special to you… I'll kill them all”.
Hazel was shocked to hear her speak like that. She looked like a cute little angel but anyone could tell she meant every word.
“What do you want? Why are you talking to me”?
Lucian asked innocently and the girl smiled again.
“You're so naive, I almost want to puke”.
She said as her smile immediately vanished.
“You don't know what's coming for you. Better hope you all die before I come or else…”
She stepped closer and whispered something into Lucian's ear. Her words seemed to have triggered him very much as he pushed her to the floor and began to hit her.
“Is that the best you can do”?
The girl asked even though she was already bruised.
He suddenly placed his hand on her neck and began to strangle her.
“Yes… kill me! Kill me”!!!
She yelled with her eyes wide opened as she began laughing like a crazy little girl.
She laughed with all of her strength, showing just how evil she was, scaring even Hazel.
Suddenly, Hazel heard her own voice and she looked at the girl, seeing the obvious displeasure written all over her face.
It was obvious she was trying to get something out of Lucian but she wasn't sure what and just like that, she vanished and they were back into the room.
“Who was that”?
Hazel asked after a while but Dona stayed silent.
Hazel turned to Lucian and noticed he was looking right back at her.
She had goosebumps all over her body. She just couldn't wrap her head around how a child could look so evil.
Dona stood up so suddenly, startling both Hazel and Lucian.
“What's wrong”?
She asked but Dona said nothing and just went to her bag and brought out a pill.
“What's going on”!
Hazel asked again and Dona raised the pill. It was wrapped in some sort of leaf but anyone could tell it was medicine.
“We need to protect him from inside.
This pill is going to block any form of portal that links him to the underworld”.
She said but Hazel looked confused.
“Why do we need to block him from the underworld”?
She asked and Dona sighed as she went back to sit next to them.
“That vision was way more than it seemed. Whoever that girl is, she was desperate to have him kill her in the vision but it's not because she really wants to die.
She was trying to tie him to her. She wanted to create an unbreakable connection”.
Hazel was shocked. She didn't even think of that at all.
“That explains why she was so mad when I stopped him”?
She said and Dona nodded.
“This pill will stop her from even trying to get to him ever again.
And it'll help Lucian get stronger”.
