Chapter 21 My son, and my queen
Hazel turned to him with her eyes opened.
An alpha openly declaring one as his Luna was just as powerful as marking her as his mate.
“I… a… alpha Kael".
Hazel's dad stuttered as he moved forward.
“Isn't it right to go through proper process before declaring her your Luna"?
He asked and Kael raised a brow.
“Proper process”?
He asked and her dad swallowed but Stella moved closer and entwined her hand with her husband's.
“He's right alpha Kael. You got married to her without our blessings and I know we can't complain about that since she's your mate.
But giving her the tile of the Luna is making her next in command after you. You don't expect the pack to accept a dangerous tribreed who returned with a bastard as their Luna”.
She said and the crowd began to whisper even more loudly. Some agreed with what she had said while many were surprised she spoke that way to Kael but Kael simply nodded.
“You're right”.
He said and both Hazel and Dona looked at him in shock, surprised that he actually agreed with what Stella had just said but Miguel already knew Stella was going to regret her words.
He could admit Kael made a mistake by being too emotional five years ago but he couldn't deny that the man truly cherishes Hazel.
Kael let go of Hazel's hand, letting the cold wind blow through her palm. She felt naked, almost pierced as she looked at her hand before looking back at the man who had just assured her that he would protect her.
“I commend your thinking Stella".
He said as he moved closer to her with a face void of any form of expression. Stella smiled, pleased that she had been able to put some sense into his head.
“But here's the thing”.
He said and looked at her with eyes that looked like they were burning right into her heart.
“The child you just called a bastard… is mine”.
He said and before she could move backwards, he held her by the neck strangling her.
Both Raina and Mr Vaine knew they had gone way too far. They immediately knelt down with their faces on the floor as they begged for mercy for their ignorant mother.
“Hear me now everyone present and share the message with your acquaintances.
Hazel's power does not make her a threat, instead it gives us more strength against rival packs and other enemy supernaturals”.
He said and flung Stella to the floor.
“I'd rather have a Luna who is strong enough to rule the pack with me than a hundred of you”.
He said looking at Stella and deeming her worthless.
He then bent to her and she cowered in fear.
“Seeing how you insulted my decree, made public mockery of my son, the future alpha of this pack, and also spoke badly about your Luna… you deserve to be punished”.
He said and she immediately knelt down.
“Forgive me, I… I wasn't thinking straight, I…”
She was still speaking when Kael brought out his claws in a speed so unrealistic to be true and dug it right into her neck, causing her to go silent immediately.
“No”!!
Raina yelled as tears fell from her eyes.
As soon as he pulled his claw out, blood gushed out of her neck and she quickly used her hand to cover it.
He then looked at his work with a smile but he didn't seem to be fully contented yet.
He held her chin, causing her mouth to slightly open as he brought out her tongue and cut it off with his claws.
“Alpha Kael! please”!!
Raina begged and looked at Hazel who had her eyes on Kael.
“Hazel say something”!!
She said but Hazel remained silent. Kael looked at her for a while and smiled before he stood up.
“Don't worry, you won't die but now, you'll have to use your wolf link for the rest of your life”.
He said and her eyes opened wide as that means she would never be able to speak again.
“Let's just say I granted you the right to use still use your inner thoughts”.
He said and the smile on his face was immediately replaced with a cold deadly look.
“Be grateful you're her family, I would not have been so nice”.
He said and clapped his hand, drawing back everyone's attention.
“Let this be a clear warning to anyone who thinks their opinion about my son and wife matters… be watchful of your words.
Lucian is my blood and Hazel is my queen. You dare not mess with either of them”.
He said and they all definitely got the message.
“Take her away”.
He said and they immediately took her out of his presence and both Raina and Mr Vaine followed.
Kael turned back to Hazel and in their silence and the whispers from all the people there, they could clearly understand what they both felt at the moment.
Turning around, he left and went back to his study and Miguel left with him as well.
Hazel stood still, watching him leave.
She never knew how much she actually needed that until he did it. Fuck she didn't even know she needed it in the first place.
Dona took a few steps closer to her and asked.
“Are you okay”?
But Hazel said nothing and just kept looking at him.
Cathy rushed towards her.
“Ouu, Kael was pretty cool with all the threat speech".
She said and Hazel turned to her.
“You were here”?
She asked and Cathy nodded.
“Mnn”.
She said innocently.
“I was standing right there”?
She said and pointed to a corner.
Hazel nodded but said nothing else before retreating back into the room.
Everyone was finally gone but Cathy didn't leave as she insisted she wanted to spend more time with Hazel.
“Are you okay? Seems something has been bothering you for a while now”.
Dona said when the three of them were finally just resting in the room.
“What else could it be? She's definitely anxious to spend the night with her husband”.
She said and Dona rolled her eyes.
“Well, she would have been there if you didn't insist on overstaying”.
She said and Cathy looked at her.
“Was that for me to hear”?
She asked but Dona said nothing.
“Newsflash, I'm not here to keep her, I'm here to spend the night with my godson”.
She said and both Dona and Hazel looked at her in shock.
“Your…”
Dona couldn't even say much as her heart began beating heavily.
“Mnn, I'm Hazel's best friend, it's only right that I become his godmother while you step down from your nanny duties”.
She said with a smile that only made Dona want to strangle her.
