Chapter 20 A new luna
Dona was walking back to her room when she saw Miguel in front of the door, listening to the people inside.
“You look like you're about to barge into the room and run away with Hazel”.
Dona said with a smile as she approached Miguel slowly. Miguel gently backed away from the door and cleared his throat before he began walking away. When he got to her, she quickly held his hand, causing him to look at her.
“I didn't get to thank you for yesterday”.
She said and he immediately pulled his hand away, unable to withstand the sensation that came with her touch.
Her hands felt soft in his and her eyes that brimmed brightly seemed to do things to him things he wasn't sure he wanted.
“You don't have to thank me, I was simply following orders”.
He said, trying very hard to hide his emotions before walking away.
Dona turned to him and sighed before she turned back and walked towards the room.
When she got in, she saw Kael and Hazel in the room and she immediately moved back.
“I didn't know you were here”.
She said referring to Kael.
“I was just leaving”.
He said as he looked at Hazel and stood up.
“Right, I think you should leave with her while you're at it”.
She said with a sly smile that hade Hazel give her a serious look.
She smiled lightly as she walked in.
“Actually, you can't keep staying here. You're both married now, you'll only give Lucian negative thoughts”.
She said and they both looked at each other for a while before Kael spoke.
“Take your time and do what makes you comfortable”.
He said and she nodded before he walked out. When he got to Dona, he looked at her and smiled, pleased by the things she said.
He knew he couldn't show how happy he was about it to Hazel but sharing a room with her would be a dream come true for him.
After he left, Dona went to sit close to Hazel.
“How are you”?
She asked and Hazel looked at her for a while. She didn't want to doubt Dona, she really liked her but right now, she couldn't really bring herself to fully trust anyone.
She smiled and nodded.
“This wasn't what I expected, but it's not bad”.
She replied with a smile that looked weak but they suddenly heard yelling coming from outside, causing them to rush out of the room.
Hazel was still in her white wedding dress when she got out of her room, only to be welcome by her parents and Raina.
Raina moved closer in shock.
“Waw! So it is true, you actually got married to alpha Kael"?
She asked, looking at Hazel from head to toe.
“Haa”!!
She scoffed, raising her head to the ceiling in disbelief before looking back at Hazel.
“You actually got him tied up in your little web of lies”.
She said but Hazel remained awfully quiet. She could tell Rave was here.
She noticed that Rave could intentionally make her presence known or keep it hidden. Which means, since she could feel her presence now, Rave wanted her to know she was close.
Hazel tried to stay calm, she didn't want to show that she was being too nervous but she discreetly tried to access everyone there.
“You have nerves Hazel. Do you think this will stop me"?
Raina asked and Hazel looked a bit shocked by what she said.
“What"?
She asked and Raina moved closer to Hazel ear and whispered.
“You can't be Luna Hazel, not for long”.
She said and moved away, giving Hazel a sly smirk.
“You never seize to disappoint me Hazel. Such an important event was taking place and you didn't think it wise to tell your parents”?
She heard her dad ask but she stayed silent and just kept looking at Raina who still had a knowing smirk on her face.
'could it be… no way'
She thought to herself as she refused to believe that Raina was the one making her go through all of this.
“Are you ignoring us now”?
Stella finally spoke, drawing her attention to them.
“You really have to embarrass your dad? Imagine hearing your marriage from one of the elders instead of receiving an invitation”.
Hazel finally gave a reaction as she raised her brow and looked at them in disbelief.
“Why would I give you an invitation”?
She asked and they looked at her in shock for a few seconds before Stella smiled.
“Of course, you've always being like this, disregarding your family and embarrassing them in public”.
She said and Hazel chuckled lightly.
“Get a grip woman, we haven't been family for as long as I can remember”.
She said and her father spoke.
“Why you…”
He was still speaking when Kael's authoritative voice echoed across the hallways.
“Who dares cause a scene in my house”?
He spoke as he moved close. The people who had gathered from downstairs began to give way for him to walk past and everyone bowed their head in respect.
Miguel was right behind him as they walked past the crowd.
Kael moved close to Hazel and stood beside her while Miguel stood behind them.
Raina bowed and the smug look on her face immediately changed, as she put on a calm and innocent face, almost looking like she was hurt.
“Alpha Kael, we were just telling sister how sad we were at the fact that she got married without telling her family”.
She said, subtly trying to paint Hazel as a bad guy.
“So”?
Kael asked and they all looked at him in shock.
"Huh"?
Raina asked with her eyes opened wide in shock to his response.
“She didn't invite you because she didn't want to. What right do you have to make a scene in my house because of that”?
He asked and Raina moved backwards a bit trying to avoid his rage.
'it can't be Raina, she's all talk and no actions'.
Hazel thought but something clicked again.
'Unless she's really good at pretending'.
“The binding ceremony is over but it seems you might have missed the memo…”
He said and held Hazel's hand as he moved a bit closer to them.
“Hazel is now your Luna".
