Chapter 103 The Battle: Final Part
Chapter 103 The Battle: Final Part
“No!!!“
Rave knelt to the floor, her eyes focused on the crumbs that were scattered on the floor.
Her eyes were filled with tears as she raised her head and looked at Hazel like she was about to kill her.
“You… how could…”
She was still speaking when she suddenly coughed out blood. It was very dark, almost black.
Her hand trembled as she shook her head.
“What is happening to me?”
“You're fading away Rave.”
Rave raised her head to her again when she heard her words.
“Although the orb was inside you for just a little bit, it could taste your greed and hunger for power.
So it is feeding off of you from inside.”
Instead of looking scared, Rave began to laugh.
She stood from the floor and walked towards Hazel.
“Are you saying… that the orb did not find you worthy, but found you worthy?”
Hazel said nothing but she was sure that was answer enough for Rave.
Rave smiled.
“Liar, you're only saying that so I don't try to take it again.”
“You were just not good enough Rave.”
Rave turned to her, and Hazel continued speaking.
“You will never be good enough.”
Rave moved closer, trying to attack her but Hazel pushed her hand away.
The push was slight, not strong enough to knock anyone down but Rave fell to the ground.
She was getting weak.
She turned to the people in the room and noticed only the vampires and werewolves who worked for her were remaining in the room.
They all looked like they had been beaten so hard and tied up.
The vampire king was not there though, and neither was Kael.
“You think I'll accept defeat like this? After everything I've been through?”
Her head was bent as she spoke.
“The orb still has powers over your insides, more greed, hate, or envy will feed it even more.
Rave raised her head and looked at her.
“So why did you give it to me?”
Hazel smiled,
“That was the only way to make you stop.
I kept thinking about it. Why am I the only one who can kill you? Why do I have to be the one to fight with you? Why did the orb choose me?
And then…”
She paused, looking Rave right in the eyes.
“It just made sense that I have to give you my heart for a moment and let it destroy you to find its way back home.”
Rave shook her head.
“You're lying. There's no way you planned this all along.
I pulled it out of your chest and fucking watched you die.”
Hazel sighed, she could see that her hate had eaten too deep within.
“I can not die Rave, not unless you find a way to destroy the orb.”
She moved close to Rave and placed her hand on her head.
“What are you doing?”
Rave got nervous.
“You took energy from most of my warriors, you're going to have to give it back before you fade away completely.”
“No, no, you can not do this to me.”
She tried to struggle, to fight it, but she was already far too weak. And feeling so much energy slip out of her, she could barely even move anymore.
“I would have wished you rest in the afterlife, but you will cease to exist so there is no point.”
As soon as Hazel said that, Rave visibly began to fade. She wasn't even turning to dust, she was just… gone.
Meanwhile, Kael returned to the hall, his breath was heavy, his eyes red, and his claws still very long as he flung the head of the vampire king and let it roll for all his men to see.
The vampires in the room looked terrified. They did not believe that there was anyone on the aura of the earth that would ever be able to take him out.
“This will serve as a warning for anyone who dares to go against Nightshade ever again.”
He said as he walked from the door to Hazel.
As he walked, his men also followed behind, standing behind every single rogue and vampire.
When he was standing beside her and facing the crowd, he held Hazel's hand in his and spoke again.
“You can try, but the crown… will forever fight back.”
“And we will win.”
Hazel added. And as soon as that was said, the enemies began falling one after the other as the werewolves who stood behind them began ripping out their throats and letting them fall to their death.
Not a single one of them was spared as the werewolves cleansed their land of every form of rebellious iniquity.
Hazel moved closer to Kael and hugged him tight.
“It's over my love, you can calm down now.”
His eyes were still beaming with anger and hungry for blood but as soon as he felt her hug him and heard her words to him, he immediately calmed down and hugged her back.
His nails retracted back and his eyes slowly went back to normal.
“Don't ever scare me like that again.”
Hazel smiled still hugging him.
“You played along pretty well.”
A few hours ago
After Kael ran over to Hazel, his heart shattered seeing her lying lifeless on the floor.
He wanted to stand up and charge at Rave when he suddenly felt a heartbeat.
He pulled her closer to his chest and hugged her so that no one else would notice.
Then, he suddenly heard her whisper after a while.
“When you get the opportunity, take me out of here.”
So when Rave was busy ending the life of the one man who had stood by her through everything, he sneaked her out.
It was when he got outside and saw Miguel waiting that he knew this was all planned.
He handed her over to Miguel while he waited as he could tell the vampire king was very close and ready for blood.
Back to present
He pulled her away gently and smiled at her.
“Good job my luna, you won.”
