Chapter 36 Marcus' Anger
"You!" Bryce tried to stand up again, but by then Alex had already left with Rossie. His eyes reddened as he watched Rossie being carried in Alex's arms.
Meanwhile, Rossie gasped for a moment until Alex helped her into the car.
"You don't have to be like this," Rossie said, pouting.
Alex only hissed. "You should be grateful to me. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been able to escape from that jerk, right?"
Rossie just kept her head down and let Alex take her away, unaware that Bryce's car was following behind them.
At the hospital…
Rossie was being treated at the clinic, while Bryce and Alex waited outside, both silent, exchanging hateful glances only occasionally.
"What are you doing with her in there?" Bryce asked suddenly, breaking the silence.
"Nothing, just eating there, is there a problem?" Alex replied curtly.
"Oh, but earlier I saw her at the loading dock checking something. Hmm, how ironic that the ex-wife of the president of the Johansen Group is doing such menial work? "
Bryce's eyes reddened, his heart burning as he heard this.
" I offered her two hundred thousand dollars in compensation, but she refused. Don't blame me if she's in such dire straits now. After all, didn't she have an affair with the Cavendish brothers? Why didn't she just ask them? Stupid woman! "
Upon hearing this, Alex just chuckled." You're the stupid one. What does two hundred thousand dollars mean to someone like Rossie Cavendish? She could get that money in one night if she wanted to, and the Cavendish brothers? Ha ha, it's only natural that they protect her. "
" What's so funny?" Bryce replied irritably.
"You, of course. You've..." Alex didn't finish his sentence; he couldn't reveal Rossie's secret now, just like her three older brothers had done.
"You left your wife for your ex-girlfriend, but you're angry to see her moving on with her life. Are you some kind of sultan with a harem?"
"What I do with Rossie is none of your business. Are you doing this on purpose to take advantage of her? Do you think I don't know that you've secretly liked her for a long time? "Bryce replied curtly.
Alex smiled cynically once again," At least I never did anything to hurt her. Especially since you just hurt her arm. "
" Forget it. You're not her type." Bryce's expression darkened.
"Ha ha ha, now you think I'm your rival, apparently." Alex teased Bryce again.
"If you really loved her and treated her right, then I wouldn't go near her, but with what you're doing now, I can't just stand by and do nothing. Even though you say I'm not her type, I would never put her second to someone else."
Bryce's expression turned gloomy, and his fists clenched after hearing this.
"Bryce Johansen!"
Bryce immediately turned around when he heard someone calling his name in the hallway.
Bugh!
Before he could answer, he was punched in the face by Marcus Cavendish. The punch left his lip bruised and made him gasp for breath.
"Huh! Bryce Johansen, now you're dealing with Marcus Cavendish, the most brutal of the Cavendish brothers. Get ready!"
Marcus, overcome with emotion, immediately grabbed Bryce by the collar and prepared to hit him again. But this time Alex stopped him.
"Marcus... this is a hospital, don't cause a disturbance here," said Alex.
Marcus glared at him, clearly not happy about this. But Alex whispered, "If you have a grudge against him, don't tarnish your profession. Thorne has invisible hands to do that."
Marcus was silent for a moment, then released his grip on Bryce's collar, causing him to cough.
"Bryce, didn't I tell you to stay away from Rossie? Don't you understand human language?" Marcus exclaimed.
Bryce smoothed his collar and said, "Mr. Marcus Cavendish, you're overreacting. Rossie only has a dislocation, and I didn't do it on purpose. She's already been treated by a doctor, and I've taken responsibility, haven't I?"
Bugh!
Marcus couldn't resist hitting him anymore. "Just a dislocation? You've taken responsibility? Do you think Rossie can't tell me everything? Including Mr. Thorne who brought her here?"
"How could you hurt Rossie like this? Now stay away from Rossie, you disgusting piece of trash!"
Rossie had become a charming and captivating woman after divorcing him. At first, he saw Rossie with Dominic, now Marcus, and now Alex Thorne, their old friend, who could never forget Rossie.
He felt like a fool for not realizing that such a precious treasure was right beside him. After he left her, everyone else wanted her for themselves. Of course, Bryce was reluctant to let go of that treasure.
"Just you wait, Bryce! I'll teach you a lesson!" Marcus pointed at Bryce with overflowing emotions.
"I'm not afraid, but Mr. Cavendish, you should know one thing!" Bryce stared at Marcus with a cold gaze. "Rossie and I haven't legally finalized the divorce proceedings. Until then, she is still officially my wife. As a lawyer, you must know this, right?"
Alex was silent. He felt that Bryce really wanted to dominate Rossie to the point that he wasn't afraid to confront Marcus Cavendish.
Soon after, they saw Rossie come out of the clinic and walk gracefully, even though her arm was in a cast.
Bryce furrowed his brow slightly. His throat felt dry for some reason.
Rossie stood there alone. Her beautiful eyes radiated sincerity. The men who looked at her just wanted to protect her.
Suddenly, old, vague memories came to Bryce, and he remembered an event from several years ago.
"Rossie... why does she look so familiar," thought Bryce as he held his head, which suddenly felt painful.
Meanwhile, Marcus approached Rossie and asked, "Does it still hurt?"
"I'm better now, let's go home!" Rossie smiled brightly at her older brother.
Bryce watched her and had to admit that Rossie's smile was captivating.
Marcus put his arm around Rossie's slim waist and walked further away. Alex followed behind them.
Bryce was really jealous, to say the least. He almost approached the two siblings, but Alex stopped him immediately.
"Enough, Bryce. You'll only make her angry if you chase after her now. It's your fault for hurting your wife before. Don't you realize that she's the one who called Mr Cavendish here?
" Rossie just wants to be with him now. Don't bother them anymore."
Bryce stared at Marcus and Rossie, who were getting further and further away from his sight.
He could only clench his fists tightly and snort in annoyance.
At that moment, Darren suddenly ran from the parking lot, looking worried. "What happened to you, Miss Rossie? Who did this?"
"It's all because of that damn dog, Bryce!"
