Chapter 37 Loose a Chance

Chapter 37 Loose a Chance
Marcus continued to grumble, his anger toward Bryce not easily appeased.

"What the hell is this? Is he looking for trouble with the Cavendish family?" Darren asked, his face tense.

The thin man was already starting to get provoked by Marcus's emotions.

"Come on... Bryce is like that, he keeps underestimating my strength with his strength, but he never knows what kind of woman he has hurt," continued Rossie.

Upon arriving at the mansion, Marcus gave Rossie a cup of hot chocolate, intending to calm her down.

"Marcus, I'm sorry I made you cancel your appointment with your client," Rossie said after sipping her hot chocolate.

Marcus held Rossie's forehead and furrowed his brow. "Hmm, you don't have a fever. What are you talking about, silly girl? Dominic, Ethan, and I are your brothers. It's our duty to take care of and protect you. After what happened this time, we will definitely be more protective of you, especially of men who try to get close to you. We don't want a second Bryce!"

As he said this, Marcus glanced at Alex, who had also come there. This sentence was also directed at him.

Even though they had known each other for a long time, Rossie's affairs were the primary concern for this prominent family.

Meanwhile…

Bryce was not focused on the afternoon meeting; his mind kept wandering to Rossie. He wanted to know how Rossie was doing now, and to be honest, he regretted hurting her.

The managers attending the meeting quietly noticed that Bryce's left cheek was slightly bruised. However, no one dared to ask him about it.

"Mr. Johansen, The Havenly hotel has been taken over by someone," said one of the managers who was carefully following the meeting.

"Who did this?" asked Bryce, who immediately snapped out of his reverie.

"The Havenly Hotel now belongs to the Nexus Group."

Bryce's body stiffened before his eyes went dark upon hearing the name of the giant group.
"Why were you late in handling it?" Bryce asked, looking annoyed.

"Our team was negotiating with representatives of The Havenly, and we were about to sign an agreement.

But suddenly, Mr. Cavendish came and immediately paid for the hotel. We couldn't do anything. "The manager looked terrified." Didn't I tell you that the hotel is very strategic, less than a mile from the business center and two miles from the Universal family amusement park, which will be completed in the next two years?

Why didn't you secure the hotel by making a down payment? By owning that hotel, we would have made more than triple the profit in two years. "

" How could you not make a decision at such a critical moment? I gave you the authority to request funds from the finance department. All you had to do was make a phone call and the finance department would have sent them the money immediately! Now how are you going to take responsibility for our losses?"

The manager could only wipe the sweat from his forehead nervously. His knees were shaking with fear.

"I'm transferring you to Aldergrove next week. If you do something this stupid again, be prepared to lose your job at Johansen's group."

After saying this, everyone in the room became even more frightened.

"Mr. Bryce, what have we done to the Cavendish Group? Didn't they only have problems with the Jones Group because of the quality of their products?" asked Steven, who was driving.

Bryce, who was sitting in the back seat, held his head and said, "Let's stop at the tailor's!"

Steven said nothing and obeyed Bryce's wishes. Bryce immediately got out, took the suit box that Rossie had given him, and ran over there.

"Sir, please help me. I'll pay whatever you ask, as long as you can fix it back to how it was!" Bryce showed the suit that Rossie had given him, which had been torn by Lily. He had already visited several well-known tailors, but none of them could do it.

Bryce then remembered the label on the paper bag with the tailor's address, and he hoped this shop could help him.

The old tailor shook his head sadly. "What a pity. This is a very nice suit."

"Is there any way to fix it?" asked Bryce.

The old tailor nodded, "I can do it, but the result may not be as good as before, some pieces of fabric are missing."

"Do your best. I don't care how much it costs as long as it's a suit again!"

As soon as Bryce arrived at the Johansen family residence, he was immediately greeted by Kelly, his stepsister, who looked worried.

"Grandma came and argued with Dad because she doesn't agree with him helping the Jones Group. Dad said that helping them is only natural since you're going to marry Lily, but Grandma insists on her opinion. You have to persuade them," Kelly pouted, just like her mother when she was whining.

"Isn't helping them the same as protecting our family's reputation?" Kelly added.

Bryce said nothing; he just went upstairs to his father's study. At that moment, Grandma had just thrown the glass on Gerald's desk and was clutching her left chest.

Grandma's blood pressure was still unstable, and Miranda's request for the Johansen Group to help the Jones Group had really provoked Grandma's anger.

As usual, Miranda pouted while crying and showed an expression of fear as she wrapped her arms around her husband's arm.

"Mom, please calm down a little, we can talk about this nicely," said Gerald, who was in a difficult position.

"Talking nicely only applies to smart people! A fool like you is not worthy!"
Lucia snorted angrily at Gerald. "I told you not to interfere in the Jones family's business, but you didn't listen to me. You even helped them financially by giving them projects from the Johansen family. Why do you always listen to this woman? Don't you care about your family anymore?"
Lucia pointed at Miranda as she said this.

"Mom, don't say that!" Gerald said in a high tone.

"Am I wrong? You've been acting like a fool since you married that woman!"

"Mom, I know you can't fully accept me yet, but I've always tried to love and raise our children, especially Bryce. I always put him first," Miranda said while crying.

Sophia continued, crying, "I have never opposed your wishes, and I have never caused problems for the Johansen family, because I love him and this family very much."

Gerald turned to look at Miranda with affection. He couldn't bear to see his wife so sad.
But Grandma had often seen through her mask of lies and deceit. Her body shook violently with anger, causing her legs to tremble and sending her falling onto the chair.
