Chapter 27 The Truth

Chapter 27 The Truth
It is no secret that children from upper-class families learn classical instruments in their childhood. In fact, they not only learn classical instruments, but many also learn horse riding, polo, chess, and calligraphy.

Bryce did find it strange that Miss Cavendish couldn't play the piano. But soon he smiled, seeing Miss Cavendish's style of dress and her attitude of wanting to attract his attention by blocking the Jones group.

"Seeing her spoiled and selfish character, maybe she didn't want to learn the piano in the past and her parents didn't reprimand her. Huh!" Bryce thought to himself.

Seeing the change in Bryce's expression, Rossie couldn't hold back her laughter. To her, Bryce looked so stupid at that moment. Becca frowned and said sarcastically.

"Hmm, I heard you came here several times, and your visit here was definitely not to see the piano in my room, right? Then let's just get to the point." Becca said this as she glanced at her gold watch. It was clear that Bryce was not important to Miss Cavendish.

Bryce clenched his fists silently. This was the first time he had been treated like this.

'Huh! If it weren't for Lily, I would have yelled at you right now!' he thought, holding back his anger. However, he chose to remain patient and smile kindly.

"All right then. I know people like you must be very busy. To be honest, I'm here for the Jones Group. I hope you can stop oppressing them. You are an educated woman, you should know that there is room for negotiation, right?" Bryce spoke in a low but firm tone, his gaze intimidating, as if to say that he could not be opposed.

Becca was not surprised and felt pressured by this. Her daily routine was to collect payments, so she was used to dealing with all kinds of people, including those who were more aggressive when being asked to pay.

"Do you think this is oppression, Mr. Bryce?" Becca asked calmly.

"I know that exposing a dishonest trader is the right thing to do. This will serve as a warning to our colleagues so that no one repeats the mistakes they have made. Customers spend money, and they should get what they are entitled to, right?" Becca reiterated.

"There could be production problems such as a shortage of raw materials or perhaps damage to machinery, forcing them to use what they have. Even large, well-known companies can face product recalls due to certain problems," replied Bryce, clearly defending Jones.

"If you are not satisfied with the goods they sent, can't you return the products and ask for a refund? This can be discussed properly and the Jones Group will take responsibility for their mistakes. You don't need to spread this to the media to damage their reputation, right? If you continue to pressure medium-sized companies into bankruptcy, it may make other companies in this city reluctant to work with you."

Rossie furrowed her eyebrows and squeezed the potato chips in her hand.
"It turns out your love for Lily has made you so foolish! You're truly disgusting, Bryce!"

"How dare you threaten me! Have you forgotten who you were before me? Every penny of your wealth is thanks to Cavendish!" Rosssie grew even angrier.

"I've heard about your relationship with the Jones family's daughter. You never gave up on meeting me, and I admit that your feelings for her are not a joke. Even so, you still have to be able to distinguish between personal and business matters. I also have to remind you, even though you are the ruler of this country, you still can't stop what I've done!"
Rossie said this, and Becca repeated it.

Bryce was both surprised and angry. However, he couldn't refute Miss Cavendish's words. He had never cleaned up a mess like this before. But he was doing it now, just for Lily.
.
Rossie thoroughly enjoyed the stiff expression on Bryce's face on the monitor.
Even though things weren't going as he had hoped, Bryce didn't want to show his defeat. He got up and prepared to leave Miss Cavendish's office. But after only two steps, he heard something from the woman's desk.

"I was wrong, Miss Cavendish! I made the wrong decision in my confusion! Please save my life. If this news spreads, I will never
be able to stand on my own in Aether City! JHome approached me with the idea of making money quickly. It was all Mr. Jake Jones' idea! I saw no difference in the furniture. I didn't know it was a trap! "

Bryce turned around in surprise. His mind was reeling from the shocking revelation.

After playing the recording, Rossie folded her arms across her chest. She enjoyed the sight of Bryce's disappointed face.

" If it were as you say, I might be willing to help and give the Jones group some leeway. But that's not what happened. There is a sinister plan that stands in my way, and I will lead the effort to destroy it, no matter the cost. "Becca repeated what Rossie had said to her.

" Hmm, Mr. Bryce, it seems that you have said everything you wanted to say to me. Now there is nothing more to discuss."

Becca then turned to Darren, who was standing nearby, and said, "Darren, you can show Mr. Bryce out!"

Darren nodded.

"Please, Mr. Bryce!" Darren escorted him out of the room and left Miss Cavendish's office.

Bryce said nothing; he looked confused. He walked forward with heavy steps. His head hurt, but that didn't stop him from remembering what he had just heard.

As the recording played, he felt as if everything he had done was a joke.
He had initially believed that the Jones Group was innocent. He thought that the Cavendis Group was trying to ruin his company after the announcement of his marriage to Lily Jones because Miss Cavendish liked him.

But he was wrong. What the Jones Group had experienced was the price they had to pay.

Bryce loosened his tie, but he still felt tightness in his chest. Suddenly, he heard familiar footsteps behind him. The sound of high heels forced him to turn around.

"Rossie?"
