Chapter 32
“Aria please open the door, let me in. Mason requested urgently.”
Being my mate he knew what I was feeling at the moment, he felt the pain I was feeling. He could have come inside the room using his abilities but he didn’t. He was asking for my permission. It was hard to say no to my mate, getting up from the floor I opened the door leaving it slightly open.
Mason immediately opened the door got in and enveloped me in an embrace. It only made me cry harder, he let me get it all out caressing my back and hair reassuringly. We stayed silent for a while before I stopped crying. Mason didn’t say anything until I decided to speak my mind to him. He was giving me time to take in the situation and I was thankful for that. He always has been patient with me.
“Mason, do you think that all this happening is my fault? Will my parents accept me? I asked him getting teary-eyed again.”
“Aria, you don’t have to worry about it your parents will accept you no matter what happens. And it is not your fault that this happened, your evil uncles were behind all these things. They wanted a total werewolf kingdom and despised the people who had human or vampire mates.”
“They were after your parents since they found his mate was a vampire. It led to all these things and I assure you that none of this has happened because of you. Don't blame yourself for something you don’t have any control over. Mason said, prompting.”
“Thanks, Mason, I feel better knowing I was not the reason. I am grateful for having you as my mate. I told him.”
There was a knock on our door.
“Mason, It's me, Grandma. Is Aria doing fine? Can we talk?”
“What do you say Aria, should we let granny know you are doing fine? Mason suggested.”
“Yes, let her in. I am always causing trouble for you all. I confessed.”
“You are a family to us Aria, family members help each other in any situation and we do the same. Mason assured me.”
He then unlocked the door so Granny could come inside the room. I had worried others because I suddenly ran out of the room after looking at my parents. I felt too guilty to even look at or talk to them. I felt responsible for the situation they were in.
As soon as Mason opened the door Granny came inside. She looked at me, my eyes and nose red from crying until a moment ago. Worry married her face as she inspected me.
“What’s wrong Aria, why were you crying? She asked me.”
“It’s nothing, granny. I tried telling her.”
“Mason, tell me why was she crying. I know that she won’t cry without reason. Granny asked Mason.”
“Granny, she cried because she felt her uncle imprisoning her parents and your family was her fault. She is blaming herself for that, for all the things that are happening. Mason answered truthfully.”
“What? Aria, don’t ever think that all of this happened because of you. Your parents knew they were up to something and decided to protect you. They love you dearly and won’t ever think that it was your fault. You shouldn’t blame yourself. Granny explained.”
“But your family suffered because of that as well granny. I added.”
“It doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is that they are alive and well. Granny retorted.”
She took me in an embrace after telling me that. I was relieved to hear that from her but still a bit nervous about facing my parents. But I can face them if Mason and Granny are with me.
“Let’s meet your parents, they are eagerly waiting to see and speak with you. Granny said with a smile.”
“Let’s go Aria, Granny and I will be with you when you meet them. You don’t have to worry about it anymore. Mason spoke, trying to persuade me.”
“Yeah sure, I will meet them. I told Mason and Granny."
Along with Mason and Granny, I went back to meet my parents. Taking deep breaths I tried to keep my nervousness at bay as I walked closer to my parent's room. As soon as we entered the room I realized taking deep breaths was not enough, I was still wearing my heart on my sleeve.
I was a nervous wreck my heart pounding in anticipation of speaking with them. Mason was holding my hand to ease my anxiousness. Blair and Granny were there for me as well. I think I will be fine as long as the people I trust are with me.
“You are finally back, what’s wrong why did you run away like that? Is something bothering you? King Arnold enquired.”
“My king, she was feeling guilty as she held herself responsible for the situation you were in. Granny said speaking up.”
“Aria, you don’t have to feel responsible for what happened, we were not careful enough. It leads to our imprisonment. It is our fault, not yours in any way. The Queen responded.”
“She is right Aria, you don’t have to blame yourself for anything that happened. We don’t regret that. The only thing we regret is not able to see you grow up as parents. You have turned into a fine young woman now and we are proud of that. King Arnold explained.”
“Don’t ever think like that my dear, it will never be your fault. Queen insisted.”
“Thanks for telling me that, I won’t feel bad about all this now. I told them.”
Hearing their thoughts made me realize the assumptions I was making were wrong regardless I feel better now. Thanks to them who accepted me without a second thought. I am glad to have such loving people beside me who accept me as I am. A genuine smile spread across my lips lighting up the mood in the room. It came as a relief to everyone as I had run away before.
The condition of the people won’t be miserable anymore. My parents can take over the kingdom as soon as they get well. If needed I can put both uncles under my command to avoid a fight. I will let them take it easy for now as they have just woken up after a long time. I was happy as all things were going on smoothly. I don't feel anxious around my parents now.
“I am so happy to have my parents back after 18 years. I confessed happily.”
"We are just happy to see you, we didn't know if we would ever be able to due to the circumstances we were in. King Arnold insisted."
I went ahead and embraced them for the first time in my life. Uncle will have to pay for what he did to all the families that have been torn apart due to the circumstances. Not only them but half-breeds faced a lot as well as they were held in dungeons from the age of 10.
I want all those families to get together once again with my parents ruling the kingdom. I don't see any problems, people will accept them easily. I was happy thinking about the future of the kingdom after my parents will take over.
After talking with my parents we went to our rooms so they could rest. They were still recovering and had just woken up, it was right to give them time to make a full recovery before we proceed further.
Our day went by discussing what we should do further. Later that night I went to meet my parents before dinner, they both were looking better than they were this morning. It's good to see them recover faster.
After dinner, I went back to our room wishing good night to all my friends. Granny and Blair were spending some time with their family happily. I am spending some time with Mason while looking at the moon silently.
He went ahead and embraced me from behind and l leaned tentatively into his chest relaxing in his arms. Feeling the comfortable silence around us as the wind blew gently caressing our skin.
It felt nice just to be with each other. With everything going on we didn't have much time to be with each other. We shared a blood bond under unusual circumstances as well. When this is all over we will be able to be with each other freely.
We were enjoying the cool breeze when I felt alarmed. I could sense my uncle's near to the Vampire kingdom, it was giving me a bad feeling. I hurried to my parent's room, Mason following behind. He already knew what was happening as he read my mind.
I knew that he could not be silent and would try to attack my parents at every chance he got. But didn't think he would so soon after what happened yesterday. I rushed as I felt them near the side of the castle closer to my parent's room. I was raging inside and they were getting on my nerves again.
