Chapter 31

The excess use of power has drained me enough to be knocked unconscious. I could feel myself in Mason’s embrace, he was worried about me as he could feel everything I felt as my powers spread around. Mason being near me was calming me down.

I felt like I was waking up from a very long nap, I could still sense Mason near me and the surroundings felt familiar as well. I opened my eyes to the sight of Mason’s room. He was beside me watching me with relief as I woke up. I have been giving him a lot of trouble since I came into his life, he is always looking after me.

He heard my thoughts and told me you will never be trouble for me through our mind link. He explained to me it was happening because I was new to transition and I will learn that as time passes. I will be here to help you in need.

“I hope you are feeling fine at the moment. Mason asked me confirming my health.”

“Yes, I am alright. How long was I out for? How are others doing? I asked him.”

“Take it easy, you just woke up after you were completely drained of energy. You were out for six hours. It's almost seven in the morning. Others are doing fine as well. Blair and your parents are responding to treatment very well they will be fine soon. Before you ask you were able to end the war in time so you don’t have to worry about that as well. It came as a surprise that you were able to control both vampires as well as werewolves.”

“What? I can control both. I didn’t even know I could do something like that. It is great if was able to help in any way. I added.”

“Yes, that was great but, it took a lot of energy from you. Go ahead and freshen up I will take you to meet your parents before going for breakfast. He declared.”

“Sure, I will go get ready I told him getting up and kissing his cheek before heading to the washroom.”

I got ready trying not to make Mason wait too long for me. When I was done I went ahead and informed him so we could get going. I wanted to see how my parents were doing with my own eyes. I followed him out of the room and through the corridor to another set of rooms.

He opened the door to one taking me inside with him. There I saw my parents for the first time. Yesterday I didn’t have a chance to look at them with everything that was going on. The color was returning to their skin and that only mean they were getting better with the help of medication.

I was happy to see that, we visited Blair’s family as well they all were doing fine. I am glad to see my best friend so happy after a long time. We had lost our parents at the same time. The only difference is I was raised by my human parents not having a clue, and Blair was raised by her granny knowing her parents were missing.

We went to have breakfast after visiting Blair and my parents. All of us were happy to have them back but, we still have to be careful. I know my uncle won’t back down easily. Yesterday the battalion of werewolf soldiers who came here might have spread the news over the kingdom that the King and Queen who went missing were still alive.

Once people know what King Arthur and his cousin are doing they will rebel against him. I hope my parents recover faster to regain their rightful place. The kingdom will be at peace once again, and the mates that had drifted apart due to circumstances can reunite with their partner and children soon.

We were done having breakfast and about to get up when a healer rushed here. We first thought about what might have gone wrong but, there was no worry on his face instead he was smiling as if something good have happened.

“Greetings “My King”, King Arnold his Queen, and the other ones have regained their consciousness. The healer spoke smiling brightly.”

“That’s great let’s hurry there. Mason’s dad declared.”

I have been worried, I don’t know if my parents will recognize me when I meet them. My palms were getting sweaty as I was anxious about our very first meeting. It is better to let them meet the people they know first, I can meet them later. I don’t want to pressure them in any way as they were just waking up.

“You don’t have to worry Aria, everything will turn out just fine. Mason reassured me through our mind link while we rushed to meet them.”

Blair and granny rushed to meet their family as I rushed to meet my parents. Mason’s parents decided to visit them first. As they went in mom and dad recognized them. Mason’s parents were happy as they still had their memories. When granny was done meeting her family she came here.

It only took a second for granny to realize how anxious I am about the confrontation with my parents.

“Don’t worry Aria, I will make sure that they will recognize you. She tried to soothe my anxious nerves by taking my hand in hers.”

Granny went inside the room and they recognized her as well.

“How are you doing aunt Silvia? Is your family rescued with us as well? King Arnold enquired.”

“Yes, King Arnold, they were rescued with you and are doing fine at the moment. I am fine as well, just happy to have my family back. She answered.”

“That’s good to hear aunt, how is your granddaughter? Is our daughter fine? She might be 18 years old now. Queen Martha asked granny.”

“Blair and Aria both are doing well, I left Aria at my human friend's house when I heard that your chariot went missing. She grew up there, she didn’t know they were not her parents until she started to transform. She turned 18 two days ago and transformed into a full hybrid. She was there in the team set to rescue you. Granny told them.”

I was nervously looking at them through the door as granny told my parents about me. Mason, was holding my hands trying to help me keep my calm.

“Aunt, I want to meet the team that came to save us. King Arnold declared.”

“Sure, I will call them here and you can meet them. Granny answered.”

Mason mind-linked Ethan to get Blair and Prince Caleb here. A minute later we saw Ethan with Blair and Prince Caleb. Granny saw that all of us were outside the door and decided to call us inside the room.

“Come inside all of you, granny called us.”

I followed others inside the room my heartbeat quickening the moment I entered the room. Granny introduced us to King Arnold and his Queen as the team who rescued them.

“My KIng this is Mason, son of King Joshua and Queen Selena, beside him is his best friend Ethan he is the son of commander Eon Blake, next comes my granddaughter Blair and I, Blair and Ethan are mates. This is Prince Caleb son of your cousin Arthur, he has a human mate her name is Anna, and lastly, your daughter Aria has been raised by human parents John and Celia Woods. Her mate is Prince Mason. Granny explained.”

I was too afraid to look at my parents or face them as they both gazed at me from head to toe, I couldn’t even look them in the eye. I haven’t ever met them in 18 years and was having mixed emotions about it. I was freaking out inside not knowing how they would react to me.

What if they don’t like me? Uncle Arthur wanted to torture my parents by killing me in front of them, what if I was the reason they faced this torture? Both kingdoms and people in it were facing trouble because of me. Everything is happening because of me.

Suddenly I was afraid to face them I couldn’t take it anymore, I wanted to be alone. Mason could hear the turmoil going on inside my head. I didn’t want to worry him anymore so I dashed out of the room without thinking about it. I left the room with surprised onlookers as I ran through the corridor to the room Mason and I shared and closed the door from inside.

I felt Mason run after me but I had shut him out of the room. I felt guilty like everything that was happening was my fault, I put all the people in trouble. I sat on the floor tears flowing from my eyes as I felt I was the one wrong my heart wrenched in pain at the realization.
