Chapter 33
I could reach there before them and let my aura seep out of my body as I grew angry. Mason was right beside me in case they tried to attack. Because of the atmosphere, all the members of the castle got alert.
My parents felt my threatening aura as well. I was standing right in front of their room. I went ahead and got in, they could try to sneak in and attack them inside the room. These damn uncles of mine dare to give me a headache all the time.
They are still persistent even when they know they can't do anything while in front of me. They want to rule the kingdom and are trying anything, they cannot give up the place they have snatched. They have even hidden their aura to sneak inside the domain.
My parents have been through so much in all those years, and I won’t let any harm come to them anymore. They will surely get what they deserve for making people suffer.
Withstanding they managed to get to the room where my parents were not knowing if they could even enter their room. King Arthur tried to take my friends under his command, failing miserably as my aura interfered with his.
“Should I put him under my command? I asked Mason through our mind link.”
“You, should we don’t know what he is up to. He answered me.”
I tried to find out what he was thinking but, he didn’t want anyone to know and rejected anyone interfering with his thoughts. Mason tried as well with no outcome. Why did he want to hurt people so badly? I didn’t know why he was so intent on making others heartbroken. He didn’t even spare his son.
He hated other species than pureblood werewolves with a great passion. What was the reason behind all this hatred? There were more questions arising rather than finding answers. Without more delay, I concentrated on taking King Arthur and his cousin Evan under my command.
"Stop Aria, don't put him under command. My father told me."
"Dad, why don't you want to let me take him and his cousin under the command? I inquired."
"I want to know why he has been doing all this. I know he was against our relationship from the start but Martha and I have been destined as mates. No one could change that. He answered me."
"Sure, I won't put him under command. But if it comes to him misbehaving, I won't think twice about it. I firmly told my dad."
We let him get inside my parents' room, I was anxious about the whole thing. I didn't want anyone to be hurt now. I want this to end soon.
"We finally made it inside the room. King Arthur and his cousin Evan said with a sigh of relief."
Their relief was short as they saw Mason and me in my parent's room. After what they have done, how do they even think I will leave my parents alone to face them? They both were surprised to find us ready for their arrival.
"Arthur, Evan I want to speak with you. My father told them in an authoritative voice."
Being the eldest son, Dad had more power than his younger brother Arthur and cousin Evan. He could still order them in his alpha tone. Mason and I stood beside my father, as he was thinking about what he should ask his brother first. While Mom stayed silent.
"Arthur, tell me why you are against Martha and my relationship. Why did you keep us in prison for almost 18 years, and want to kill our daughter in front of us? Why are you doing this? Father asked his brother."
His brother was silent, thinking about what to answer in response to his questions. He took a while before answering.
"I already hated that you would be the King after Dad, and later you found your mate was a vampire. She soiled our pure werewolf bloodline and was about to give birth to a hybrid. I didn't want that to happen."
"Evan and I did various things to kill your mate, but she was sharp and never fell for any trick. She even gave birth to a daughter, who might have werewolf and vampire powers. Our last resort was to kidnap you and kill your daughter to achieve the kingdom."
"That day you were going to a meeting with the vampire kingdom, and you didn't take any guards with you as well. We took it as a chance to hold you as a captive, we were going to find your daughter and kill you all. We were not able to find her because she was missing. We waited for years until she would show her form to hold her captive. Our plans failed as she turned out more powerful than us."
"She even managed to rescue you all and end the war, we lost the chance to attain our goals. We have always wanted a full werewolf kingdom. I have been disgusted with the thought of our people having another mate than a werewolf. They were creating half-blood creatures, half-humans, and half-werewolf or vampires. I even went far enough to keep the children in prison and break their families apart."
"Even then my son's mate turned out to be a human, if I had known sooner I would have prohibited them from meeting each other and married him off to a pure-blood werewolf. He is a shame to my family. King Arthur spoke venom dripping from his words."
The father was upset at his brother's speech about hating his son’s mate, daughter, and the people. He didn't like the fact that his brother had looked down on the vampires, shapeshifters, half-bloods, and humans. He even despised his son for having a human mate. Seems like others had updated my father about the events happening in his absence.
"Arthur, Evan while thinking about all this have you ever cared for the people you call your family? Have you ever thought about how they might have felt about your actions? Father enquired."
“I don’t have to think about them, they are old enough to take care of themselves. Why do I even need to care, that it is my wife's duty? While we are busy running the kingdom. King Arthur confessed."
"It is not just your wife's duty to raise children, you both have equally important parts to play. Due to your mindset, your son couldn't tell you that he has found his mate. You are telling me that he is a shame to the family? What you have been doing is more shameful. You broke families apart, that isn't a good thing."
"You are making them suffer a lifetime's worth of pain all these years. Don't you have a heart? How can you be so selfish and let everyone including your own family suffer while you rule? Rulers are there to maintain peace, you have been quite the opposite. We are supposed to care not hurt. You are a disgrace to all the Kings and Alphas. My father pointed out."
"I don't have to care about anyone else. I am the king and I can do whatever I want to in my kingdom. King Arthur declared."
"You don't have any right to do that to your people. You aren't fit to be the King of this "Werewolf Kingdom" if you do not respect your subjects."
"The people of our kingdom don't like how you rule, they have no other choice than to obey you. You have spread hatred instead of love. That is the very reason for your downfall. Whatever you sow you reap. Father acknowledged dejectedly."
"I don't care about anything else, I am good with whatever rules I have set for the kingdom. King Arthur retorted."
Father's face fell hearing his brother's thoughts. He might have been shocked to know what he thought about his family and subjects. All the questions were finally answered. We could tell he despised us with passion just because he wanted a pure bloodline. He divided the people separating them by what species they were.
"What are you here for right now Arthur, Evan? Father enquired."
"We just wanted to take you down before you both recover. You and your wife are a pain to deal with when you are in full health. Now you even have your daughter who would fight beside you. I wanted to get you before she interfered. But we are already found in our act. King Arthur revealed."
Father was speechless listening to his reason for visiting. He has made it clear so many times that he wanted to kill our family. But hearing it from him every time hurt more than any physical injury to my parents.
Anyone would feel depressed knowing their brother hated them for a long time and even wanted them to die just because he tainted the bloodline.
There was a thick tension in the atmosphere around us. All of them fell silent after the revelation of the truth. Neither Mason nor I dared to utter a single word. The silence in the room was suffocating as we waited for someone to break it.
