Chapter 33 The Shopping Saga

Chapter 33 The Shopping Saga

Lost in her own subconsciousness, a tall buff man in all black and black shades walked towards them, a toothpick in his mouth. "Excuse me?" He called out to them, snapping Cara out of her own thoughts. "Did you two happen to lose something?"

Cara's eyes widened. "No, why would you ask that?"

"Well because I noticed you on the cctv going from floor to floor without actually picking anything. It's a little suspicious, too suspicious for me. It makes me feel like you are trying to get a mapped detail of the place or something." He explained, hands tucked in his pocket, toothpick sticking to the side of his mouth.

"Like for a robbery or something?" Cara's eyes grew wider the moment she realized what they were being accused of.

"Your words, not mine, ma'am. If you will not purchase an item then do you mind escorting me to the station? Just for some questioning." He suggested.

Her eyes bulged like they would pop out of her head and her fist clenched in anger. "Excuse me!"

"Excuse us," Romeo stepped forward in front of Cara. His lips curved into one of his serene smiles. "I brought my girlfriend here to buy a few things and I didn't feel a connection to any of those other floors plus it was too crowded for me. But, I finally made it here and everything looks perfect just the way I want my love to look and we are going to purchase more than a few items. I'm sorry for making things look suspicious."

The man nodded slightly. "Well, when you pick the thing you can afford here, I will still like you to accompany me to the station. It's just policy."

Cara scoffed. Was he already looking down on them? Like suspicious thieves who wouldn't be able to afford more than one item? If she were to try to show off just a little, she would spend all of her company funds and the cold vile security man probably wouldn't be impressed.

Her brain didn't even calm to realize that Romeo had introduced her as his girlfriend. She was too angry to think straight.

She noticed a smile on Romeo's face as he spoke. "Well, you can't go against your policies right? No problem. Allow us to shop first okay?"

"Sure, I already said after you were done. According to policy, I have to follow you around and make sure you don't pose a threat. If you don't mind..." The man nodged his head forward, implying they went ahead.

"And what if I do?" Cara stepped forward, pushing Romeo out of her way. "What if I sue this entire place to court because you are treating me like a criminal when I am not? This is defamation of character, you know that right?!"

"Carina--" Romeo held her hand but she shrugged free.

"No this is wrong!" She exclaimed. "You're going to follow me around like a criminal on parol?" She scoffed. "Is it my fault that your mall doesn't have impressive clothes? Clothes that are irresistible to the eye?"

"Carina!" He hushed her softly. With a smile, he turned to look at the security guard. "I'm sorry, my girlfriend is a little hot tempered. But she is right. If you do realize that we are not thieves, I'd like a detailed apology tendered to both of us."

The man scoffed a laugh. "Sure. Move along now."

Romeo smirked. Without uttering another word, he took Cara's hand and led her forward. Deeper into the maze of beauty and fashion.

He called out to one of the staff member there and she rushed towards him.

With a bow, she raised her head and smiled. "How may I be of assistance sir?"

"Well, your security thinks my girlfriend and I are thieves so we really don't have much time on our hands because he wants to take us to the station for questioning. I would like everything in this lane but I need my love to try them out first just in case. Is that okay with you?"

The woman blinked before nodding hesitantly. "Y--yes, sure. Please, this way ma'am."

Cara's eyes widened. Firstly, girlfriend? Her brain just caught that and secondly, everything on that lane? If she wasn't wrong, there were like thirty dresses there? And thirdly, try them on???

"Go on dear," Romeo smiled. "The friendly security guard and I will wait here."

Cara glared at the vile man before leaving. Putting on the first dress, it was a red shiny floor length dinner like themed dress with its arms off her shoulder.

It was beautiful. She imagined herself changing twenty nine more times.

Every single dress made Romeo stare at her like he was in love. She couldn't help but to smile every time whenever he made it clear he was trying to control his desire to hold her in his arms. Or so she translated.

By the time they were done with the dresses, she had already chosen some shoes to go with each dress since they came in a pair. She refused to buy too much because she was already feeling guilty she wasn't paying.

But Romeo picked all he wanted for her like he was picking for himself. He also chose some designer outfits for her to wear on the cruise ship and she couldn't reject them because they were too pretty but she made it clear she wasn't going.

When she finally thought they were done, she heard him say, "show us your best jewelries." Tiredly, she followed them.

After several long minutes, they were finally done and it was time to make payments.

The security man had taken off his glasses a few times and put them back on while they shopped, not expecting them to pick such expensive items. She couldn't blame him though, she hadn't expected it too.

"Your bill is one point seven billion dollars. Do you have an account you would like us to put it through?" A young lady at the cash register asked.

"Yes," Romeo responded. "Put in on my account, Romeo Armani." He said his name audibly.

The security man's jaw dropped.
