Chapter 32 The Last Floor
The inside of the building was just as large as Cara had speculated. Different sections filled with dresses, shoes, jewelries and bags of all sorts. Then several top floors for the richer and richer and richer. Someone like her would probably be able to shop in the first floor and highest, the second.
She turned to look at Romeo to catch his smile as he nudged his head forward, inciting her to continue their adventure together. Her eyes lingered on his perfect back as he stepped forward and buried himself in the lot of the place.
"Wait up!" She hurried after him.
Catching up to him, she looked up at his face and noticed his eyebrow twitch skyward thoughtfully and somewhat disappointedly. So she asked. "Is something here not to your liking?"
His lips pouted childishly. "This section isn't for us. Come on, onto the next floor." He urged her on and started towards the elevator without waiting. An excited smile played on his lips as he went on.
Cara's eyes widened, her mind slow to realization. "Wait, what?" She leaped forward after him, almost tripping on herself. "Hey, wait up!"
Inside the elevator, her eyes couldn't help but to wander towards him. He hummed a song she didn't know like a child looking forward to a surprise while scrolling absent mindedly through his phone.
She found herself smiling again. Why did he always have such effect on her? Her cheek was already burning red with embarrassment.
Saved by the ding of the elevator, she dashed forward before him and collided into a world she doubted existed. In her head, she could hear her subconsciousness rephrasing the idea of her being able to afford anything in the second floor.
She probably wouldn't be able to afford one pair from a pair of shoe. Not to mention the golds and diamonds.
But Romeo already had that disappointed look on his face again without even taking his time to look around. She wasn't confused, she was shocked.
With everything in that place, none left him in awe? He must be kidding. "Hey, what do you say we take a look around? See if anything looks good on you because I'm sure everything will. Even the lady dresses." She snorted a laugh.
To her surprise, he smacked his lips together and shook his head. "Onto the next floor."
"What?" Her brows rose to her forehead.
Once again, he was already gone before she could throw in any more questions.
Again with the song and absent mindedly scrolling. Then again with the next floor and the next and the next. Sometimes, he didn't even step out of the elevator before clicking the button for the next floor.
Cara was growing impatient and a little bit angry. And she would not hold back her tongue if he did it-- and he did it again. Patience exploded.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Romeo? Are you messing with me? Are we here to window shop? At least let us get a glimpse of the clothes before you shove us into the elevator and take us to the goddamn next floor!"
He stared wide eyed at her. "What's window shopping?"
"Oh God..." She expressed with a weary sigh while rubbing her aching forehead.
He let out a chuckle. "I'm kidding. I'm kidding, okay? And I'm not trying to mess with you here or anything it's just that none of the designs are calling out to me. You should understand that as a woman interested in fashion."
"I am not a woman interested in fashion and this is the goddamn last floor so you don't hear the items calling out to you I swear I am going to kick you out of the goddamn window!" She impatiently stated, panting in an out of breath like manner.
Her ears pricked as she heard him chuckle. Turning her head to look at him, his dimples were all the way in with a seductive smile on his face. Yet she didn't trip this time, she felt infuriated. "Is this funny to you?"
"No no no, I'm sorry it's just... It's so cute."
Her brow perked up. "What? What is?"
"It's the first time I've heard you cuss out loudly so much," he turned to look at her and smiled. "I'm glad I made you angry, Carina." His eyes glowed like there was magic pulsating through it.
She stared confusedly at him, her head tilted to the side, trying to see if there was a sane side to him. But he was just plain crazy. Before she could get another word in, the elevator door opened and Romeo stepped out.
With a sigh and a disapproving shake of her head, she followed after him. The air in the place felt so cool that a chill ran down her spine.
Due to her anger, she had ignored the design of the other floors and she wasn't even allowed a proper look before being carried to the next floor.
But the beauty and charisma of that floor was undeniable and impossible to ignore. She was very sure one shoe would cost no less than a billion dollars! Which she was also sure was her poor mentality speaking.
"This is it, Carina." Romeo uttered from beside her.
She sighed in relief. "Oh thank goodness! I was already getting worried that you would ask for a helicopter and fly us to another shopping mall which I know you can do."
Romeo let out a soft laughter. "Well, no need for that, Carina. They have everything I want, right here."
"Good." Cara nodded. "Then let's see if anything here looks good on... You?" Her brow arched confusedly.
Taking a long look at the place, everything she saw was meant for females and females only. The dresses, the pants, the tops, the hats, every single thing in that section!
"Uh... Romeo?"
"Yes, Carina?" He plainly responded.
"I think you made a mistake or is there a room for men wear?" She scanned the place with her eyes.
"No, Carina. This floor is for women only which is why I brought you here."
"What...?"
