Chapter 130 Abigail
Cara stared at the receipt that stared back at her. The amount of zeros at the back of the figure made her eyes feel dizzy and her head spun.
She tried to calculate it but Romeo was already on his way back and she had to immediately slip the receipt back into his wallet.
Sitting with her back straightened, trying to compose herself, she cleared her throat softly and a warm smile graced her lips.
"Hey, sorry about that." Romeo said as he sat himself back down.
"Yeah it's fine. Hey." She responded with a soft smile. She suddenly felt her stomach tangle into confusing knots, making her feel like she wanted to throw up.
She managed to hold it back as she spoke, "uhm sorry, could you... excuse me for a moment?"
"Yeah sure. You good?" He asked her with a curious brow.
Forcing a smile to her face, she responded. "Yeah, of course, why wouldn't I be?" Rising to her feet, she held back the urge to throw up and managed to go to the bathroom.
Arriving there, she threw up and wiped her mouth. Washing her hand by the wash hand basin in the female bathroom, she heard the sound of a toilet flushing and a brown haired lady walked out.
She was dressed in a sleek red power suit, a white dress shirt inside. Her long brown hair was left to fall over her shoulders and back and a black high heel added to her height.
They were standing side by side now and Cara did not even spare a glance at the lady. At least not until a hand stretched forwards towards her. She looked up at the lady and the lady smiled softly.
"Gum?" She asked Cara.
Cara smiled in return and accepted it from her. "Thank you." She threw it in her mouth, the fresh minty flavor immediately eradicating the taste of vomit from her mouth.
She thanked the lady once more and turned off the tap. Turning to walk away, she suddenly felt dizzy and almost collapsed to the ground.
The lady immediately caught her by her arm and help her remain standing. "Oh my! Are you okay?" She asked her worriedly.
Cara placed her hand on her weary head and leaned on the lady. "I'm sorry I... I don't... I don't know what..."
"It's alright. Come here." The lady led her to a corner of the rest room where she could sit down while supporting her all through. "Is it okay by you if I quickly get some water for you?"
Cara nodded her head and leaned against the wall, her eyes closed shut.
The lady hurried out and just a few seconds later, came rushing back in with a bottle of water in her hand. She fell on her knees and handed the bottle to Cara after snapping the cap open.
"Here," she said softly. "Small sips okay?"
Cara collected the bottle from her hand and took a small sip. As the water flowed down her lungs, she felt a little relieved and let out a soft sigh.
"Can you see me clearly? Open your eyes." The lady commanded in a gentle tone as she collected the bottle from Cara.
Cara managed to open her eyes, her vision, at first was blurry but after a few blinks, cleared. She stared at the lady's beautiful face and let out a weary sigh. "Oh thank you. I don't know what happened, I just... I–"
"Are you pregnant?" The lady asked out of the blue.
Cara blinked. "Wait what?"
"Oh sorry," the lady let out a soft chuckle. "My name is Abigail Coleman, I am a OB-GYN surgeon."
"Oh wow, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Cara Smith, I am a director." Cara introduced herself.
"Nice. So are you pregnant? You are right. I can tell from your eyes and your palm and your symptoms. But are you pregnant?" Abigail asked, quite impatiently.
Cara nodded her head. "Yes I am. But I am already registered to a hospital if that is what you want to know."
"Oh no not at all. I just want to help you feel better." Abigail cleared the air. "So tell me, what did you eat before you threw up?"
"I ate a hamburger. I have been having this craving for it for a while now so I thought I would just satisfy it while i can." Cara explained.
"Hamburger... that means the oil irritated your stomach. You should abstain from anything that has oil for a while and see what happens." Abigail said to her.
"Oh... alright thank you so much." Cara responded with a smile. "I am so glad you were here with me, I don't know what would have happened to me if I was alone in here."
Abigail waved off her words. "Oh it's nothing my dear, i am only doing my job. Are you here with anyone? Can you go home by yourself?" She asked with a curious brow hanging up.
"I am not alone. I came with my fiance, he is outside waiting for me. We were eating together outside when I suddenly felt nauseous." Cara explained to her.
Abigail nodded her head, her deep blue eyes staring at Cara's face. More of scanning it than staring at it. She looked at Cara like she wanted to be sure nothing else was wrong with her.
Picking up Cara's palms, she stared at it front and back, looking for signs only she would understand. She reached up to touch Cara's face but froze. "May I?" She asked and Cara, hesitantly though, nodded her head.
Cupping Cara's face in her warm palms, she stared closely at her face then into her eyes. A soft sigh of relief left her mouth. "Thankfully there is nothing else wrong at the moment, but you should check with your doctor to revise your treatment to something less reactive."
Cara smiled softly. She was so grateful to have met the lady. "Thank you. What did you call your name again?"
