Chapter 129 A Jaw Dropping Price

Chapter 129 A Jaw Dropping Price
Imagine a wedding dress come alive from a dream, like an imagination in the head transforming into a beautiful reality. So beautiful it made tears flow.

That was how Cara felt, except she had never imagined such beauty beyond comprehension. She had anticipated the dress her lover praised of course, but she had never imagined. She could not have even.

Something like that was surreal. So she could have never even imagined it. From the patterns to the material to the design, everything, how did one person ever sit down to create such impossibility?

The thought of being tied to her lover forever in such a master piece caused tears to trail down her cheek. To Romeo, to the dress, to the designer, she was beyond grateful that such an opportunity had been bestowed upon her without any price to pay.

She felt unworthy, she wanted to feel the dress, to touch it and know that it is real. But she felt too unworthy to even take a step closer towards it.

Yet her hands reached out, longing for its feel, wanting to know more than her eyes did. And so her feet succumbed and walked forward, one slow and unworthy step after another.

Finally, reaching the dress, she caressed it softly, not wanting to taint it with her dirty and unworthy hands. The material was surreal just as she had suspected.

If flowed like clouds through her fingers, ever so soft and comfortable. The diamonds sparkling at every part of it was like magical powder that she could not grasp in her hand, yet the tiny bumps felt against the palm of her hands.

The master piece was an off shoulder ball gown, its white as fluorescent as it could ever get, pearls ornamented the bust area and down to the tiny waist that was sure to fit.

The skirt flowed like a beautiful fall of clouds, soft and puffy all the way down. It literally looked and probably felt like clouds would.

She could not comprehend its beauty, could not bring herself to describe it. Not even in her head. It was more than a normal dress. It was a sign that her wedding had been blessed by angels.

She turned around to the sound of the sweetest and softest voice. "Do you like it?" Romeo asked, whispering softly in her ear.

His eyes seemed to gleam, an ornament with magic composition.

She nodded her head in response and turned back to look at the dress. Soft hands touched her skin softly as Romeo wiped away her tears.

"Why are you in tears?" Romeo asked her.

She turned back to look at him. "I don't... I don't know. I don't know why, I guess it's just... so beautiful that... it made me feel so special. Much more special than i should ever get to feel."

Romeo's lips curved into a gentle smile. He placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her body to face his. "You, my dear, deserve to feel this special and even more. You bring light and meaning into my life, a beautiful wedding dress is nothing in comparison to the beauty you have brought into my life.

"I want to treasure you and give you all the princess treatment this world has to offer and then some more. Because you mean more than the world to me."

It was like Cara had never heard such words before. Her heart refused to slow down, her head felt empty save for the words that she had just heard. The sparks between them was like never before.

She stared into his magical eyes, never breaking the gaze. Until a voice pulled them apart.

"If only my husband knew how to be this sweet and romantic." Tricia thought out loud. She broke out in a chuckle when both Romeo and Cara turned to look at her. "Sorry, don't mind me. So I'm allowed to assume that we have a winner?"

Romeo nodded his head with a soft smile.

She clapped her hands together in excitement. "Alright then! Let me process the payment. Because you are my lovely nephew, i will give you fifty percent off!"

"Fifty percent?! That's a lot and it is going to tell on your business. You know that we always do business Armani style." Romeo said to her.

"I know but this is my gift to you and your beautiful bride for your wedding. Let her put it on while you make payment, oh and there's a glass slipper that comes with the dress. That one is free."

"No," Romeo replied with a slightly firm expression on his face. "Armani style."

She gave a roll of her eyes and started for the exist of the room while Romeo followed. Cara was left wondering what it meant to do business Armani style.

After the dress fitting, she said her goodbye to Tricia and also made her appreciation known for the dress.

Sitting at an outside table of a small fast food place, she had been having a persistent craving for hamburgers for the past few days and she wanted to satisfy it finally.

Romeo sat opposite her with a plate of fries and a cola while she munched on her hamburger. Remebering her question, she placed the burger down and wiped her mouth gently.

"Romeo, what does doing business Armani style mran?" She questioned with an arched brow.

Romeo looked up at her at the mention of his name. His attention had been on his phone. "Oh," he dropped the device on the table and picked up his cola instead. Taking a sip, he placed it back down and responded.

"It means doing business without being nice or lenient to your family just because we are relatives."

"Oh..." she said surprisingly.

He gave a nod of his head. "Yeah. You see a business was started to make profits and you can't make profits by being nice to friends and family and handing out unreasonable discounts."

"Right... so you did not accept the discount?" She asked him.

"She forced it down my throat. But I paid for the shoes." He responded with a shake of his head. "That woman..." he muttered and sucked his teeth.

Cara could not help but to wonder how much the dress had cost. She was curious. She needed to know. Just as if the universe was on her side, Romeo had to excuse himself to pick a call.

So she slipped the receipt out of his wallet and took a look at it. Her jaw hung ajar.
