Chapter 127 At The Boutique
Cara was silent all through the car ride, she kept thinking about how her life was about to change in the matter of a few days. She could not say she did not want it to happen, but she would be lying if she said that she was not feeling anxious.
She kept thinking back on her old marriage with Chris, what if things were to end up the same way with Romeo? 'No! Don't think about something like that! Things are different now! You are with a baby and he will stay with you because of that.'
She did not know if that mentality was right but at least it gave her hope.
Arriving at the dress shop, Romeo helped his woman down from the car. He led her into the giant boutique and went straight to the manager's office.
The woman was a bright faced red head with freckles dotting her face and a pretty smile on her red lips as she scrolled through her phone.
Her curvy body was wrapped in a red dress and a black belt wrapping aroud her waist and a pair of black high heels.
She looked up at the sound of a knock on her door and responded in a soft sweet voice, "come in!"
The smile on her face brightened as she saw Romeo walk in through the door and she rose to her feet. "And who am I looking at here?" She asked as she walked over towards him.
Cara felt Romeo's hand unwrap from around hers as he went towards the woman and hugged her. She stared with an arched brow as they embraced each other like a couple that had not seen each other in ages and desperately missed each other's warm touch.
"Tricia, it is so lovely to see you after so long." Romeo said in a sweet soft tone while hugging the woman's back.
"Well who's fault is that?" Tricia asked, finally releasing Romeo from her embrace only to stare at him. She cupped his face in both of her arms and stared into his emerald eyes. "Oh look how handsome you have gotten!"
Romeo let out a soft chuckle. "I did not purposely keep away from you, it's just that a lot of things have been keeping me busy, work has to be the biggest factor."
Cara felt her cheeks heat up from anger and her fist clenched subconsciously. She felt her chest get stuffy and she breathed out heavily. Quite loudly too.
Romeo turned back to look at her and looked back at the woman in front of him. "Uhm..."
Are you going to introduce me?" Tricia asked him with a gentle smirk.
They finally released each other from their hold and Romeo took a step back to stand with Cara. "Tricia, this is Cara Smith, my fiancee. Cara, this Tricia Armani, my forever young aunty." He said with a soft smile.
Cara's eyes widened and she felt her jaw drop. "Aunt? You mean... you mean she–"
"I know, she's looking like a twenty year old right?" Romeo asked. "She happens to defy the law of science which says we grow older everyday. She only seems to be getting younger and by the minute at that."
Cara could not hide her embarrassment even though she tried to. Her cheeks burnt brightly with a shade of red that was impossible to miss and her chuckle came out in an awkward tone.
"Oh my goodness, Romeo stop." Tricia responded with a soft chukle. "Don't listen to him darling, i might not look my age but I don't look that young either."
Cara chuckled, "yeah of course– no I mean you look beautiful and young– i mean I... it is such an honor to meet you." She responded awkwardly.
The woman chuckled, obviously knowing what could have been running through Cara's head. She reached out and took Cara's hands in hers. "You look so beautiful my dear, I am so happy that you came to me for your wedding dress. I think you will love everything I have to offer."
Cara nodded with a soft laugh.
Tricia led them out of her office and took them to where she kept all of her masterpieces. Cara could not keep her jaw closed.
Evetything was just too beautiful. When she felt she had never seen anything as beautiful as one dress and certainly nothing in the world could be more beautiful than that, she would see another dress more beautiful than that one.
"See anything that catches your eyes?" Romeo asked her while walking side by side with her.
"How could I not?" She asked with a soft chuckle. "I am afraid that I will not be able to choose anything at this rate! How can something be so beautiful?"
Romeo let out a soft chuckle. "Okay, I think I have something you would like. I saw it on her website last night and I could not take my eyes off of it. Hold on," he went on ahead to join with his aunty. "Tricia! So there's something I saw on your website last night. It was..."
He voice drowned out as Cara's thoughts emerged. If she was an Armani, his aunty he said, why was he calling her so casually by her name? Why not Aunt Tricia?
Was it something she asked him to do? There were people who preferred casualty to formality. She was one of them actually, but the thought could not help but to pester her mind. The woman was so young. At least twenty eight. Was that possible? Perhaps she had a little help from cosmetics and maybe surgery too.
But that was not for Cara to worry about. She just could not believe that she had gotten jealous seeing Romeo hugging another woman. A soft sigh escaped her mouth as she said to herself, "I really need to learn how to control my feelings..."
She wore a smile back on her face as she saw Romeo walking back to her. He reached out to her and grabbed her hand. "Come on," he said softly as he slightly pulled her along with him.
She silently and obediently followed until they arrived at another room. "What is this place?" She asked him.
"Where your dress is being stored. Come on," he said to her with a soft smile. "You'll like this."
They both entered the room hand in hand. Waiting patiently, Tricia came in last and led them to a section of the room covered with a curtain. "Are you ready?" She asked them and at their enthusiastic nods, she pulled the curtain away.
Cara stared in awe. A single tear drop trailed down her face.
