Chapter 176 Here I Am
Chapter 176 Here I Am
Trembling, his steps stumbled, falling onto his table. He opened his mouth to speak but ended up glaring.
“Get lost…”
“Please,”
Shaking, he shut his eyes, shaking his head in denial. Attempting to neglect my purest pleading, to ignore it but that was only outraging him.
“I said get lost! How dare you talk about my wife like this!?” He yelled, breathless, tears coming to his eyes too.
I paused, mouth gaping as I begged and got nothing, flaring my chest to forcefully purloin her from his shadow- no, no, calm down, Zaviyaar.
Believe in your prayers.
“Leave before I make you,” He growled.
I attempted calling but where did it lead me? Nowhere…?
Wiping my tears, I rose from the ground, pointing my finger at him furiously. He would explain his actions of separating us.
“My Lord will ask you on the day of judgment, Ahmer, for your heartlessness,”
Especially when those eyes had MY image.
When those tears had MY name.
When her love had MY name.
My steps were about to retreat but he started speaking in a broken tone.
“Do you think… I can’t notice? Do you think it would make me happy to keep two lovers away, huh?”
“What?”
“Tsk,”
Scoffing, he opened a drawer and threw an envelope towards me. Not sure what it could be, I opened it only to find Divorce Papers.
“You are…?”
Astonished, I certainly didn’t expect that possessive man to let her go so easily then what made him do that? Her breakdown?
Obviously, he must have heard what we talked about. He knew her breaths were burning for me only.
But this fucking marriage was stopping her.
“Take back your doll, she cannot survive with me. She will die without you, you have no idea how much she is regretting leaving you,”
And he spoke the words I was dying to hear.
She was regretting leaving me…
“I see that in her eyes all the damn time.”
Call me evil, but I ‘wanted’ that to happen. I wanted her to suffer for me too… to think about me all the time which I think happened.
“Else why do think I am this obsessive and mad to the point I raised my hand at someone for the first fucking time in my entire life?!” He yelled.
Surprising me while expressing his frustration Aalifa managed to induce in him.
“I have never hit a woman and I have become an abusive man that I can’t even look at myself anymore,” He hissed, ashamed of his own self.
“Well, I won’t deny, she had a knack of transferring her depression to the ones around her. Luckily my love for her overcame that.” I whispered vaguely to myself but he heard it.
“Most certainly.”
Placing the papers back, I moved back, knowing there was nothing I could do or say for his consolation nor should I.
I had no faith in him but the anguish in his eyes told me that he would truly end that marriage, he couldn’t carry on with a woman who couldn’t be his.
“Can you do one last thing?”
He muttered, “What?”
“Don’t tell me that I came to you. I want her to think that she came to me after breaking her chains.” I smiled softly, unlocking the door before glancing over my shoulder.
“This would revive my Noor-e-Jaan…”
To my affectionate words, he was staggered. His jaw dropped, fading my smile, causing me to tilt my head. What happened to him?
Holding his sides, he started to laugh, causing me to think twice about his head being in the right place.
His laughing utterly baffled me and yet not caring about that, he continued to laugh until I broke his so-called amusement and asked.
“What?”
“Nothing…”
Shrugging my shoulders, I didn’t think much and walked away while praying deeply that she would never leave this time.
Anxiously shaking my knees, I wondered when she didn’t leave me before then why would she come to me again?
I was not sure if she would sign it or not. What if she wanted to-
What was I saying? She would ‘definitely’ return.
Else those eyes won’t be shedding tears of my longing.
Then was I not sure? Dammit, this patience and overthinking would ravage me- Fortunately bringing me out from my thoughts, outside my hotel, I saw a familiar face.
“Boss,”
“Hmm?”
“Um.. she is here,” He informed me, opening the door of my car slightly where I found Aalifa in the worst condition when I last saw her.
Wasn’t she… fine? What happened to her? Wasn’t she eating properly or eating?”
I just met Ahmer, probably like three hours ago.
‘Don’t tell me she ran away… did she? My, how thrilling it would be.’ I thought in perplexity before hastily rushing to her side, forgetting everything.
“Aalifa?”
Asking for confirmation, I flashed my most charming smile while scanning her from top to bottom.
Looking down anxiously, she called my name beautifully.
“Zaviyaar,”
“Would you like to come with me?” I asked politely.
“Sure,”
We entered my room, forming my lips in a thin line.
I didn’t know what to say or how to react while she was twirling her fingers around her dress worriedly.
“So.. what brings you to me? Who told you I am here?” I asked vaguely.
Resting my hands in my pockets to gradually close the distance and stand before her.
“I… have divorced Ahmer,”
My jaw dropped. Guess I wasn’t the only one dying for that separation with him.
And why shouldn't she leave him? I had come to know it was a forced marriage in the first place.
“Come again?” I asked again.
“I have divorced Ahmer,”
Damn my nature, I wanted to taunt badly-
‘Of course, when your hands didn’t tremble to divorce the man you loved then why would they for another man,’
Leaning my ear closer to her lips, I whispered, still not believing the words I had heard, failing to suppress my smirk as I whispered temptingly.
“Say it again,”
“I have divorced him!”
My body flinched when she yelled out of irritation in my ears. Moving back quickly, I pressed my finger over my ear to reduce the sting.
“Um…”
I was at a loss of words, having no literal idea about what to do. Scratching the back of my neck, I was frozen.
Unaware of how to react until she grabbed the collar of my shirt with a frown, bringing our faces dangerously closer, drying my throat.
“You said your arms are open for me.”
Shaking my head slowly, my eyes cascade to her lips.
They were not shaking at all. She came with full determination while I was flabbergasted.
“Yeah…”
She declared with no hint of wavering.
“So here I am,”
