Chapter 172 Redemption
Chapter 172 Redemption
“What?!”
Shutting my eyes, I continued painfully, “Even if he has killed Asim, he manipulated me too, made me a mistress but I swear, he loved me beyond all odds and more than anything.”
But, gathering my courage because I must tell that to him on his face. With endless tearing rolling down, I endeavored to make a strong face and enunciated.
“I am accepting today… I have made a wrong decision, just like all decisions of my life but let me fix at least that,”
Shocked, his jaw was dropping, getting back from me as I did what I considered right, I had made us suffer foolishly enough.
Taking all possible means to obliterate this aching for both of us, on my knees, I joined my hands to him.
“Ahmer, I am begging you on my knees, let me go. I can’t continue this marriage,”
“Aalifa? What did I do? Why are you doing this? Your father will kill you if you return this time. Where will you go?-”
“Who else? To Zaviyaar,”
I chuckled, wiping my tears but they flowed out nonetheless.
Flabbergasted, he shifted to his knees because after all my reassurance, all my mighty words of being loyal. In the end, I broke.
I fell apart. I couldn’t stand firm on my words.
Deep down, all this time, I wanted to wait for Zaviyaar so that when we met, I told him that I was waiting for him.
But this marriage stole that hope from me.
“Do you know what you are saying?” He whispered sadly, shifting to his one knee to contemplate my expressions as I kept my gaze affixed on the ground.
Swallowing hard to clear my throat, I nodded firmly.
“I am well aware of my words. I want him, I don’t want you, I don’t want anything, I want him, I want my Zaviyaar back,”
“Do.. you think he will accept you?”
Staring back intensely at him, I held my head high because it became a reason to hold pride for me.
The fact that no matter where I would get lost…-
“His arms are always open for me.”
He would delightfully embrace me protectively, he would happily accept me at any point of my life, he had done enough for me.
And as a lover, after disappointing and failing him constantly, for once, I wanted to do something.
Pouring all my heartache, with a tear rolling painfully, I pleaded with him wholeheartedly, probably shattering his heart along.
“I was too afraid to go to him but I don’t care anymore. This month was hellish for me, Ahmer, let me go, I am begging you.”
He stopped, taking a whole minute to ponder deeply. Sighing, he replied after a prolonged silence.
“Okay…”
“What? R-Really? C-Can I go?”
Instant glow came to my face. At this point, nothing but him mattered.
“Yes,”
Blinking, my mouth gaped, not expecting him to not act possessive or roughly. He just flashed a melancholic smile.
“Do you think I won’t know that you are regretting your actions of leaving him?”
Each millisecond for the past three years, one month, ten days and eighteen hours.
“Actually…”
He paused with a chuckle. Averting his gaze with a flickering tear in the corner, completing.
“I was waiting for you to say it yourself. It was transparent that you will grow weary, not me. You were the one who would be cursed, not me.”
Nibbling my bottom lip, I didn’t know how to react. I had no words for his consolation nor should I give him false expectations anymore.
With disappointment, he rose from the ground, “Can you give me some time?”
“Sure. But, please, release me,” I spoke instantly, desperately.
He was taken aback for a second but soon relaxed, shaking his head in approval and turned to leave me alone in my bothering thought.
“Also,”
I added when he was about to leave, “Don’t tell him that I did this.”
Smiling to myself, I whispered gently, “I want him to think that he came to me after our love became uncontrollable.”
Not hearing further, Ahmer walked away while I was drained and fell on the ground, tracing my finger with a smile of relief accompanied by a tear as I murmured to myself.
“I love the thought of how much it would delight him.”
‘I am sure, when I have you, I will find all my happiness…’
After my breakdown, Ahmer didn’t come to me once.
He started sleeping in the other room, going to work early and I had no strength to confront him either so I avoided him.
I truly thought that I would carry this burden, that things would become better, I could be a wife but in the end, I couldn’t.
Everything I thought led to him.
“I am sorry…”
Lying on the bed, I was remembering how I used to do his things. But, I didn’t even bother to do that much for Ahmer.
“...for being such a horrible partner…”
Back then, I was blanked with glum, I was pessimistic, cold but however I was.
I was all his…
“Zaviyaar, wake up,”
I woke him in the morning by shaking his shoulder, causing him to stretch his muscular arms out, yawning.
Absolutely pleased to find me working as his alarm.
“Salam, Noor-e-Jaan, done making me the bad guy?” He smirked, grabbing my wrist to make me sit on the bed.
Keeping my gaze lowered on the ground, I frowned, pulling my wrist back.
“What do you mean? What did I do?”
His smirk grew, plopping on his elbow to stare intensely at me, drying my throat at his keenly affectionate gaze.
“Making our baby witness that his father is making his mother work when the doctor strictly gave bed rest,” He chuckled huskily, sitting up, a grin coming to his face.
Sighing at his overwhelming sweetness, I shook my head, fatuously refusing to latch my heart with his.
I decline the most beautiful hands offered to me.
