Chapter 76 76
The car came to a stop in front of Alexa's house and she got down from it. Liam hopped down from the other side, the bag in his head as he walked to her.
"You forgot this." He muttered. She sighed slowly,
"Thanks.....for the drive." She grudgingly said and collected the bag.
"Can I ...see the kids for a moment?" He asked.
"You are making this awkward, Liam. Just go home." She said, walking away. Liam took two steps and covered the gap between them, as he held her hand, dragging her back to himself.
Her chest heaved up and down in pure shock as her eyes widened, an emotion to show that she hadn't expected that move.
"I'm sorry I didn't clarify this right there." He muttered, his own chest heaving fast as well,
"What is it?" Her voice came out as a whisper as her eyes locked in his heated focused eyes. She could see herself in his eyes, and a gulp went down her throat slowly.
"It's you I love. It's you I will ever love. It's you I will love till the day I take my last breath on earth. After that, even if I come back, I will fall for you over and over again, Alexa. I didn't know how much I loved you, that was why the past five years were a little bit bearable but if you leave me now, the future won't be good for me to live in. I won't be able to live without you, Alexa if you don't choose me. I'm at your mercy. Till the end of life, it's only your attention I'd seek. Only yours." He said. Her eyes moved in-between his, her head pounding as his words repeated over and over in her brain.
"I know you think I'm not saying the truth, but seeing you live so apart from me with my kids makes it seem we are like in different worlds and I knew I said I would wait...." He stopped, "but I just can't. I just can't wait knowing how beautiful you are and how easily you can be taken away from me. So please, Alexandra. Give me an answer soon. Would you still choose me?" He asked.
Her lips parted but words refused to form. She stared at him, not knowing what to say. Slowly, Alexa pulled her hand away from his,
"The kids' birthday is the day after tomorrow. I will.....give an answer then." She said and turned, walking into the house quickly. Her back rested on the door, her heart beating fast against her ribcage. When she peeped out of the window, he still had not left yet. He was waiting for something she didn't know.
If he was thinking she'd come out there, she won't. She couldn't go out looking so red and broken like this. Looking so confused and tattered. She never thought she could love him again but maybe knowing the truth had melted her iron heart. Maybe knowing that everything he had done was simply to protect her broke her walls and maybe, so much betrayal made her feel like she could only lean on him so much, since he'd been there for her. It didn't matter to him nor his company but he was helping and he was promising that he'd keep on helping. How much longer could she lock him at the door of her heart?
"Mummy...." Jade's sleepy voice made her drag the curtains close and turned to the stairs.
"Darling." She called, rushing to Jade and hugging her really tightly. It seemed to provide her the warmth she yearned for and the thing that could clear out her head.
"We asked daddy to get us a family outfit, did he get it?" Jade asked while squeezed in Alexa's arms and Alexa smiled slowly. He was really the best father her kids could ever have.
"He did." Alexa released her and touched the shopping bag. Jade immediately checked,
"Huh? Mum, it's your last edition for the family joggers." She said excitedly and Alexa felt her lips curve into a sweet smile. She loved them.
"I guess daddy knows what you really wanted, doesn't he?" Alexa pinched Jade's little cheeks and the girl chuckled in response as she looked at her mother.
"Daddy is the best." She jumped. Jace came down at that instant.
"Oh, our noise woke him up." Alexa said, laughing loudly.
"Guess what mommy got for you guys."
"Doughnut and ice cream. Do you guys want to have a family night together?"
"A family night without daddy is incomplete." Jace replied, twitching his lips.
"Okay, a half family night without daddy."
"Yay! I'll get the popcorn. Let's watch Disney." Jade jumped excitedly as she rushed into the kitchen, coming back a minute later with the largest pack of popcorn she could find.
"Let's go."
Alexa smirked as she dropped the evidence on the table when Grace finished her talk.
Stella gritted her teeth hardly, anger showing on her face as she stared at Alexa hatefully.
"Just know something. You are screwed." Alexa smirked, a victorious smile as she was about to walk out.
"SH Apparels won't fall this way." Stella hissed.
"Of course. This is just the tip of an iceberg. Your stock prices would fall. You'll be broke within a second. I mean," Alexa laughed slowly, "Everyone would think you use smuggled goods for your stuffs."
"Fvck you." Stella rushed out to her in the court but the officers held her back immediately.
"You'll get off with just a fine. But you would lose so much for and tell your partner, Ryder, I'm coming for him. Tell him to watch his back."
"You think you have Liam behind you?" Stella's words made Alexa wait for a second.
"Why? You are annoyed now you no longer have him behind you?" She scoffed.
"Yes, I am annoyed and that is why I won't let you have him either."
"What do you have up on your sleeve again?" Alexa folded her hands, waiting patiently.
"My baby.... Liam divorced you when you were with his baby. I was also pregnant at that time, but he went to look for you. I fell off the stairs in an attempt to follow him, causing me to lose my baby."
Alexa's hands fell to her side.
