Chapter 70 70
"Alright. Thank you so much. I have been really stressed for the past few days and have not been paying attention to the kids. I'm really sorry." She apologized.
"I watched the news. You are passing through a lot. It's amazing how you still manage to keep everything together this way." The kids teacher responded and Alexa smiled.
"I guess that's what being a mom means." She muttered. After talking on the phone, Alexa was relieved. She had woken up late this morning, only to see that the kids had left. She had panicked, calling Doreen and Cassidy but the both of them hadn't picked the kids up.
After thinking for a while, she called their teacher. Though the kids had been very late, they had still made it to school. Turns out, they left themselves.
She'd have to talk about the meaning of danger with them, though she still had a fault by not properly paying attention to the kids.
An hour later and Alexa walked into the company with her red heels. Doreen immediately met her by the door in.
"Mr Welland has taken over the CEO's office. He demanded that all reports be given to him directly." Doreen said with a annoyed face.
"Call those who are ready to stand by me. Those who aren't would lose, make sure to inform them about that. There is a secret camera in the office also, so you wouldn't have to worry about him doing anything stupid that we wouldn't know about. Lastly, for all our secret and private documents. Change the keys to all of the lockers and hand them over to me. Make sure only you and I have a copy of them. We would also meet with Mr Colt, I don't believe Ryder could easily acquire shares just because my stocks went down for a night. There must be some foul play somewhere." Alexa said.
"Actually, about the stocks prices, we went down with about a billion dollars." Doreen handed the tabs over to her and Alexa gritted her teeth.
"The wedding plans and the runway were almost cancelled. Thanks to Mr Jordans for getting you out quickly, else it might have been drastic." Doreen added.
"We need to get the replacement for these losses as soon as possible. I can't risk this going down anymore than this." She tapped her finger on the tablet, before passing it back to Doreen.
"There would be a meeting for the shareholders next week. There'll be a bite about who and who would take over the company." They were in the elevator this time.
"Where are we going?" Doreen asked.
"To our offices. He can't make me uncomfortable over there. That's my job." Alexa smirked. The elevator dinged and she stepped out before stopping and turning to Doreen.
"One last thing, Doreen. Keep an eye on Helix and Co. If he can plan a bribery that much, I have a hunch that he also involves himself in that sort." Alexa said.
"I will make sure to find the evidence of that." Doreen said and pressed her lips tight making Alexa curious.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"I don't know if I should show you this but .." She paused and Alexa stretched her hand.
Doreen placed the tab on it, "The visuals." She muttered. Alexandra took a deep breath as she played the video.
The person who had been used for the smuggling activities was none other than Grace, Blue's mother.
"She seems to think you sent Blue to Paris to fire him." Doreen explained.
"She can think whatever she wants." Alexa smiled, passing the phone back to Doreen. She was glad, at least it was Blue himself, neither was it Doreen. She couldn't bear the pain of being betrayed by those she trusted the most. Not anymore.
She gave a small smile as she walked into the office, coming face to face with Ryder. She placed her bag on the center table and slouched on the couch.
"Doreen, a cup of milk coffee and popcorn please." She shouted noisily and Ryder raised his head to look at her.
"Really?" He asked.
"You are helping me do all the work, why not? I can binge Netflix right? You don't think I'm disturbing?" She asked.
"Do whatever you like."
"Ever since you became a fake CEO here, it seems like you have been fired from your company. It's weird."
"Let's just say I like to see you. Cos I know you'll always be here. We can share this office if you like. We can also do some nasty things in here depending on you." He smirked and she scoffed lightly.
"If you think I'd be as crazy as to ride you in my office, you must be so foolish and daft." She hissed loudly and almost immediately Doreen walked in with the coffee and a large pack of popcorns.
"Doreen, sit with me."
"I have work to do." Doreen winked at her and Alexa 'oohed.'
"I absolutely forgot. Is Ryder overworking you? If he is, tell me, I seem to have control over his fickle heart." Alexandra said sarcastically and Ryder frowned, his pen playing in his fingers.
Doreen walked out and Alexandra faced the large TV and put on a movie, increasing the volume to the loudest.
Even Doreen could hear it from her own office. No one would definitely be able to concentrate with the level of volume.
"Do you think you are in a cinema?" Ryder snapped after having enough of it. She didn't reply, her eyes were glued to the TV as she absentmindedly threw popcorn into her mouth.
"Alexandra!" He shot.
"What?! Can't you just shut up and work!? You keep distracting me, c'mon."
"Well, you are not allowing me to concentrate!" He shot back, she shrugged.
"You can always leave. Helix and Co will be willing to accept you back."
"If you think this is going to make me mad, you have a long way to go."
"Oh, honey. I'm not in a rush. I take my rest period a little bit too seriously. It's nice seeing someone do all the work for you and not to add, for free." She smirked as she continued watching her movie.
"What the- you are meant to jump! Do you want a bullet to hit you before you do that!" She screamed in awe as she sat up and Ryder hissed.
