Chapter 67 67
The dark glow of light in the hall made Alexa feel warm the moment she stepped in a stunning red. Her dress caught the attention of many, forcing them to spin their heads when they saw her. She smiled, knowing the impact she would make.
Besides have fun right now, it could also be easier if she could get some connection. The reason for the party was to get connects actually and she was determined to make the best use of that.
“We are the only one without dates.” Doreen whispered to her.
“Yeah and that's what make heads spin more. The two beautiful ladies without dates tonight.” Alexa clinked her glass with Doreen, making the other lady give an amusing smile. Alexa was really in top of the cloud this time.
Her eyes scanned through the crowd and suddenly, the spot light shined briefly on it, illuminating her better for everyone to see. Her eyes met Liam's. He was sitting down calmly, somewhere opposite her, a drink in his hand. He seemed to be shocked finding her here because he had not expected her to come.
But knowing Alexa and the crazy things she could do, it shouldn't really be a new thing to him. But the shock on his face was swiftly replaced by amusement when Alexa smirked dangerously at him.
In that tight red body hugging dress, she looked too dangerous. He frowned. He wasn't the only one seeing that. Other men did too. She flaunted her hair to the side, her brows raising up as if reminding him that even if he didn't submit the papers, he still couldn't have her. Was that challenge?
“Where's the host of the show?” Alexa asked when the spotlight moved and she was done taunting Liam.
“I believe he'll be out after the dance.” Doreen said.
“Who are we going to dance with?” Alexandra totally forgot. It was the importance of dates.
“Ourselves?” Doreen pointed to them both and Alexandra smiled as she nodded. The dance started and slowly, they started moving but as Alexander turned to the other side, she caught sight of Liam dancing with some woman she didn't know.
What the….Oh really, he could dance around with whatever woman he wanted, couldn't he?
“We have to talk.” Ryder glared at Doreen making her leave immediately and he exchanged with her, dancing with Alexa. She didn't even concentrate. Her eyes followed every movement of Liam with the lady and every single second, a nerve was cracking at the back of her neck.
Noticing this, Ryder turned her to face the other side. She looked at him boringly,
“Don't let this dance get weird.” She warned.
“It's the way you change your attitude that gets me everytime, Alexandra. You look like you don't have anything for me.”
“If you think I was ever interested in you as a lover, you are kidding.” She smirked.
“We were about to kiss.” He reminded.
“That was fleeting moment. It anything had happened, I could have paid you off. I hope you kept my one million dollar safe?” She asked, referring to the deduction in her account for the bribe. Meticulous. She gave them that. Fast, a double that.
“Are you serious?” He scoffed, “You make it seem like I'm the bad person. I was only trying to help.” He shrugged lightly and she purposely stepped on his foot with her heel when he spun her around.
“Shit!” He gasped in shock, pain shooting round his leg.
“Tell me, Ryder. I think Liam is looking?” She said, going closer to him and he smirked as he wrapped a hand around her waist, moving her backwards before spinning her again.
“He's lost in you. Do you see that?” He asked while she spinned. Alexa smirked as she wrapped her hand around Ryder's neck and spotlight shone on them again.
“That's how you would be when I finally knock you down. You can to me cause of Velvet Vixen, no?” She asked and he stared at her without a reply.
“You messed with the wrong girl.” She said angrily and stopped the dance, walking out of the place.
She hadn't gotten to her car yet when her phone vibrated and she read the message,
“Where did you go?” It was a message from Liam. She turned her phone off and opened the car door, about to go in when someone suddenly hit the door close, pulling her hardly to a iron pole. Her back hit the pole hardly, the impact rushing in her body system as Ryder grabbed her arm tightly, his fingers stabbing her.
“I might have been really warm to you in the past, Alexa but you keep playing me, so-”
“You b@stard!” She spat, “Weren't you the one who played me?”
“If you had just listened and choose me instead, it'll all be easy for you but you had to make the mistake of refusing me that day.” He said.
She tried to move but he held her backwards again harshly, “I'm going to make sure you plead on your knees for me to have you.” He swore.
“I don't sell my dignity that way, @sshole.” She shot angrily.
“Dare me, Alexa and you will regret ever doing that.” He said.
Before Alexandra could open her mouth and get another word out, someone suddenly appeared from beside, stunning Ryder with a blow from the cheek.
Alexa sighed as his hand left her arm and he staggered backwards. Liam's fingers wrapped around her second arm and he pulled her back behind himself.
“When are you going to stop being crazy?” Liam shot in anger.
Ryder chuckled as he straightened up, his fingers going to his lips as he wiped the stain of blood off.
“I don't think I've heard that you fight before.” Ryder muttered.
“Mess with the wrong button and you'll see that.” Liam swore.
“And what's that button? Alexander?” He smirked, “Of course, she is. She knows how badly you are in love with her that she would just easily play you and abandon you afterwards.”
“Not that bad.” Liam shrugged, “At least I'm being used. You never had that luxury option in her life.” He smirked.
Alexandra looked up at him in suprise as the words left his lips. Ryder smirked, tilting his head.
“Love really gets you crazy.” He admitted to Liam.
“Watch out, Ryder. Not only would Velvet Vixen go back to it's rightful owner. If you aren't careful, you might lose Helix and Co. too.” Liam threatened and pulled Alexa away immediately.
